Not sure why we’d compare our greatest T20i batsman to Asif Ali.

Afridi was a better batsman however Asif place is not under threat due to not having any other suitable alternative. The guy is a real his and miss with miss being more often but every now and then he is likely to win you a game which given the current hopeless batting lineup better than nothing.

Asif Ali should be played as an opener, I can’t think of any cons if he did open.

If he gets out early, we have Babar coming in.

If he gets going, it’ll take the pressure of Rizwan.

I would argue Khushdil should get a chance as an opener too.

It could work or he should come in earlier if we get a good start. Kushdil however is not an international quality player atleast not yet.

If hes to remain in the team he needs to do a lot more than he is doing because the runs hes making and the amount of balls hes surving are simply not nowhere near enough

He has failed to improve. Seems like his ceiling is not high enough.
The likes of Bracewell, Klaasen, Moeen, Shanaka etc are all better than him and can either bowl or keep wicket as well.

Otherwise why would Franchises waste their money on him.
