What's new

Why has India never had a Muslim Prime Minister or Army Chief?

No need, the facts are on front.

OK, prove me wrong. What were the results of the standing Muslim candidates in this election?
The definition of secularism is not speculation. I suggest you look it up.

Speculation is what your arguments are on the basis of. You are presenting those speculations as facts but what i am asking here is, stats on what % of which religion voted for which candidate of which religion. Those data will be facts which i can't even deny. Can you present it?

We can talk about Islam and how it inspired people then please start a thread. Happy to debate there.

But before you do, there is a difference between religion and cultural influence.

I'll be happy to debate on another thread.

But what you stated, based upon it, the question becomes, did islam fail to overcome the cultural influence which might have driven the people to evil deeds?

The evidence is clear, no Muslim candidate even lose to Indian Premiership position.

The onus is on you now to prove otherwise. at least cite some Muslim successful Muslim candidates in the past.

One last time, what happened to the Muslim MP of Gujarat during the riots?

The evidence is clear

Again. Those are your speculations without based upon any statistical data. You came to the thread with a pre determined agenda and are presenting your own assumptions as facts (all your posts in this thread are examples of that). If you are happy in believing your own assumptions as facts, then its your decision. When come to a debate, come with an open mind. I am ready to be proven wrong if anyone could bring a break up of the votes by religion of the candidates and make a case for your claims.

You have had a number of chances to prove me wrong but have failed.

You have now resorted to character assassination as one last hope.

See yah!

i am not here to prove my self right or prove yourself wrong. I am only here to seek the truth via different perspective. Your aim seems like to win some word battles but that's not what i seek for.

Killed by sanghis on the order of a CM known as the butcher of Gujarat.

Exactly. Indians want us to believe that Muslims have an equal chance in Indian politics when really they are just token candidates in the name of religious tolerance and equality.

https://scroll.in/latest/924627/201...m-mps-elected-to-parliament-none-from-the-bjp

27 Muslim MPs in Lok Sabha in 2019 elections. Not even a proportional representation of the Indian Muslim population. To make matters worse, not a single Muslim MP representing BJP!

Despite the evidence, we have Indian users trying to pull wool over our eyes!

So it isn't hypocritical for Pakistan not to have a non-muslim head of state however like you said India constitutionally allows minorities to be heads of states yet there has never been a Muslim PM in India's history.

They had a Muslim president, 2 Muslim cricket captains.

For Pakistan, it is a fat zero in both categories.

Constitution is the most important thing for any country. All the laws have to follow the constitution. First, if there is a competent and charismatic Muslim leader, he may become India's PM one day. ManMohan Singh was a minority and yet he was one of the best PMs India ever had. Second, Indians have shown no desire to change the constitution which proves that they have no problem with minorities assuming such important roles in the state.

In Pakistan, none can become the PM or President no matter how qualified they are, just because they are not Muslims.

I don't think someone should be in a position just because they're x,y or z. If the Muslim candidate for whatever is qualified, then they should get any post they want in India. If that will actually happen, that is a different matter. From what people have been saying, India have been somewhat accommodating to Muslims in high positions, which is surprising but good to hear.

Pakistan, however, had a highly educated, highly qualified economist step down because he had death threats for being from a minority Islamic sect. It is shameful, and it makes me sick that the country of my origin is so backward.

Before criticising our neighbours, we need to take a look in the mirror and realise that extremism, bigotry and ignorance is ingrained into our society and it will only get worse unless something is done very soon.
