So you select this very young, inexperienced and very promising fast bowler for the WC. A series that is touted as perfect prep for the WC.... and you sit this young guy on the bench? Why?

Don't you want him to get experience of bowling in international matches?
Don't you want him to get experience of bowling in English condition?
Don't you want him to get experience of bowling on English pitches?

With his inexperience, his figures will always be like this.. he is too Raw and not played any List A cricket should not have been selected for such a big tournament...Rumman is still a better option.

I do not rate Hasnain at all. He is a as mediocre as they come. It is a waste to invest in him and play him.

Being fast doesn't mean you're automatically good.
There was no evidence to suggest that hasnain was good enough foe international cricket but he was fast so they fast tracked him into the pak side.

Very very raw, he needs to be worked on by coaches and put in hard work. Need to develop a slower ball, learn the art of reverse swing, practice Yorkers, learn seam movement on pitxh.. Other than that his pace is good so if he gets proper mentor should be ready in a couple of years.

Agree he is not the finished article(hes only 19) but looked the most threatening bowler in the last odi and in fact in the whole series( for Pakistan). Cant aford to drop him for 2 years.

The problem with Pakistan cricket right now is that their national team is used to build players. That should never be the case, players should be built in domestic cricket and come to national team when they are ready or close to being ready.. Pakistan national team should not be used to develop raw youngsters, it's the job of domestic coaches and pace academies, NCA etc.

However the domestic structure in Pakistan and domestic coaches will more often than not destroy a young promising player.

That's why you see so many inconsistent performances from Pakistan as their players are still learning while being in national team. If they were groomed in domestics and then came to national team the performances will be more consistent..

Unless Pakistan improves domestic structure the problem will always remain..
