Why has the new Pakistan Head Coach not been appointed yet?

With an important series coming against Australia next month, why have we have not appointed a coach yet?

Are we only looking for a foreign coach who is in the PSL now? That means Andy Flower or Peter Moores? But Andy Flower will be coaching in the IPL, so that will rule him out I suppose.

I get that but still nobody has been appointed yet even in that role. Australia are a top team and need some proper preparation with the coach/consultant. Not somebody who has appointed a week before the series starts!

Ramiz is not a big fan of long term foreign coaching appointments. In fact he has already said he wants the captain Babar Azam to take charge of the team and any long term coach that will be appointed will be a local i.e. Saqlain and he will only play a behind the scenes supporting role to the captain. At the very best, short term series to series consultants will be hired depending on the SENA conditions.

I am in favour of this policy. India doesn't appoint foreign coaches and the success of Indian Cricket in the last decade shows that foreign coaches are over rated

I am sure Rameez said that both Babar and Saqlain recommended a foreign coach but whether that just means for SENA conditions, I am not sure.

I do think they least need an interim coach for the Australia series even if it means a local Pakistan coach. Saqlain has already said he will be too busy for that role so somebody like a Azhar Mahmood/Mushtaq Ahmed combo?

Neither National coach nor NHPC coach has been appointed yet though last of submission was 17 and 24 of january 2022 respectively. I think non of the high profile or good coaches applied that's why Mr Chairman taking that longer.
