Let's ignore his batting + recent form. I'm more interested in the fact that he frequently drops sitters.

Dropped it this PSL, dropped root 3x in the test series, Root would go on to score 262 courtesy of king. Etc etc.

Most players lose their drive and work ethic after they become super stars. Babar is not the only Pakistani player who suffers from this

Babar is not that bad as a fielder. It's just he explodes under pressure.

Our rotten system doesn't help.

Shaheen is now also Shahid Afridi's son in law and Shadab is Saqlain's son in law. They now have backing from two powerful ex cricketers who can leverage their personal, political connections and other cricketing connections to ensure these two players will keep getting undeserved opportunities in Pakistan Cricket.

PCB needs to keep giving opportunities to youngsters in the T-20 format which should be used as a tool to build bench strength to send a message to the senior players that if they don't shape up, the youngsters will come in to replace them.

Babar Azam’s regression in run scoring, fitness, agility and fielding is a reflection of his poor attitude, poor work ethic, lack of motivation and selfishness.

I knew this was always going to happen after Misbah took over from Mickey Arthur.

Long story cut short. A selfish individual cultivated another selfish individual.

Unfair to blame Misbah. Misbah for his cowardly defensive nature was a fitness fanatic. He loved to eat like a king but he worked out extremely hard in the gym as well and made sure his physique was international cricket ready. Misbah as coach was very strict on the team's fitness and diet plans and ensured the standards were uniform in both international and domestic cricket but he faced severe opposition from players who refused to get out of their comfort zones. This is a subcontinent cultural problem which requires several role models in the Pakistani team and a system which reinforces the need for peak athletic fitness, diet plans where the more you score in these areas the higher the financial rewards you will enjoy and India has this in the IPL. Sadly our PSL in comparison does not pay enough to everyone to incentivize them to be super fit and disciplined.

When I see Babar, I think of ordering some fried chicken ngl! Man is raking in $$$ all year with an Uber Driver physique

I will be ordering a Spicy Zinger Babar when he comes out to bat. I hear sales always peak during his innings, but that's okay because I know I don't have to wait too long to get one.

Misbah was indeed very good with his standards of fitness, however the damage was already done when this guy not only made Babar feel untouchable, he also normalised cake consumption after every ton and 5fer. It was not just a remnant of the Misbah era, it turns out Babar got to experience it first hand during the Brisbane test in the 2016/17 series when they decided to celebrate Shafiq's ton in a lost cause.

What kind of example does this set for prospect captains of Pakistan cricket?

Misbah clearly had very poor cricketing mental fitness as a white ball strategist. What’s the point if you can’t strike it over 70 in your life?

His white ball cricketing mind was a complete shambles. It's only a matter of time until they start comparing Misbah to Ian Botham. "Botham didn't score an ODI hundred like Misbah so what's the issue?"

Babar is skinny fat, doesn't seem very athletic to me. There's zero muscle definition and a growing pot-belly.

The england game was hilarious. A part of me believes that root was doing it deliberately.

He played the exact same shot to the exact same fielder(babar) in the inner ring 3x in a row and babar dropped it 🤣

Please stay on topic. Thread is not about KFC meals or chicken leg piece.

Exactly, type of guy that just loses it when under pressure. I had a gut feeling that he would drop it. For all the talk about his fitness he seems okay. He has weak mentality and someone who should never be a captain or leader.
