Why is Imad Wasim in the team?

He looks like a decent lower order bat but his bowling is ordinary. He can be hammered on a flat pitch.

I think Shadab is a decent batsman. But I’m not sure if he can play the 43 of 23 type innings, imad played in the third odi.

Absolutely love the fight! Need more guys like this in the team or we have to build a culture where we are looking to go after certain players than rather look to be clean respected schoolboys. Respect stays where it should but at least show some fight boys!

Punched his ticket to WC. I wonder why he isn't used as an opening bowler in ODIs. He is not that effective in the middle overs. Looks a clean hitter and can turn games in the WC with bat or ball

Opposition is 150/2. Imad Wasim brought back into the attack as pitch is gripping a bit. Pakistan in need of a spinner who can take a 4/5 wicket haul. Would you bet on Imad doing such an extensive job? Hell no!

Imad Wasim reminds me so much of Robin Singh. He will score some cute scores (not out) to boost his over inflated batting average and bowl 10 overs for 50 odd runs and get you 1-2 wickets. Thats about it really.

I am thinking Pakistan may be better off playing a proper batsman or bowler in place of Imad.

The reason why he hasn't won us games is because he comes in late and there is too much for him to do. It's not easy when you have to come in with a rate required of 10+ rpo, with more often than not a liability at the other end.

We need to stop scapegoating Imad, he's been one of our best performing players this year and the stats prove this.

He's been striking at 140 this year with a decent average (albeit due to not outs).

Dropping Imad is not the solution because we lose our second best hitter in the side and we lose our best defensive bowler, so who can we replace him with? The answer is there is simply no one for now and if we pick a specialist it will merely destroy the balance in this team.

That run out against Afghanistan was pathetic.
Inconsistent bowler one day will bowl beautifully next day will be back to his darting .he needs to bowl in the same mould he was against England in last odi.When he change the pace consistently he is different bowler
His Batting is also exposed by England hopefully he have worked hard on weakness against short pitch bowling.
Should definitely be given a chance against non Asian side

More than his cricket, it’s his fitness & approach in field is absolutely disgusting. Mickey & Sarfraz likes him while I am not sure if IUH ever bothered for fitness, hence Imad is given space, lots of it in fitness, which is a double standard. I am sure Jr. Akmal isn’t that unfit compared to Imad and he could have been Sarfraz’s backup in the squad.

Imad does make PAK’s current squad on merit (which actually explains 3-19...), but players individually has to take responsibility on his fitness and cricket. We were discussing about Imad being given some responsibility as Captain, not too long back, but as it looks he might be dumped after WC. If Arthur & UlHaq leaves, it’s almost certain that PAK will pick a genuine SLAO spinner in preparation of 2023 WC in order India.
