What's new

Why is Salman Ali Agha considered a modern T20 hero compared to Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan?

Salman is useless in t20s.... He is a gun player for ODIs and Tests but in t20s, he is not deserving...

23 Tests, 47 ODIs and 37 T20Is so far
3,447 runs and 44 wickets in international cricket

Happy Birthday to the HERO (:p:ROFLMAO:), Salman Ali Agha

I like Salman Agha but it's not working. He's done well in ODIs, particularly in the SC, but in T20Is, Pakistan have better options.

Shaheen should be promoted to white ball captain.
As usual, the PCB have things back to front again. Agha should have been ODI captain and Shaheen T20. It’s not rocket science.

Why is this guy being forced on us in the T20 format? On what basis did he come in ahead of Fakhar Zaman? He is the biggest weaklink in the team, you are better of playing Rizwan ahead of him.

You can't have the captain be the biggest passenger in a team.

Add to he is phattu, dead rubber and he takes off WasimJr after one over, just because he got 10 in the over

He's so bad yet the ones who hate on Rizwan and Babar never seem willing to criticise his selection in T20 cricket. He must have some solid connections to keep getting picked despite being such a burden on the T20 side.

I was wondering if good intentions should be added as a metric. Batting average and strike rate doesnt matter. Intention matters. Agha is a star when it comes to good intentions.@topspin ki top tier logic.

What you say my bottom tier fellow posters:
@BouncerGuy @salman24 @Bhaag Viru Bhaag @Raja Ishtiaq
Sure man... Intention is number 1 metric... Performance will only matter when it comes to babar... Rest of the players are immune to that

@BouncerGuy what are the rules of this thread? It only gets bumped when Salman fails with the bat in T20?
Salman has been performing consistently well in both tests & ODIs since he debuted, arguably better than some main batsman, even though he was kept aside by Babar in the beginning. Salman is also leading T20 team quite well, not occupying particular position but no doubt he has to improve as a batsman.

The ironic part is that some fans seem to want Salman to fail in T20s just so he can be dropped from all formats, paving the way for Babar, Rizwan, or Shaheen to reclaim the T20 captaincy. This mindset reflects fan politics rather than a genuine interest in Pakistan cricket’s progress.

As YK gave shades of Ponting in ODIs during his time ,so may be Agha gives Michael Hussey to those posters.

If Babar 's SR of 128 is not admissible then how come Agha with a SR of 115 justify his place ,

Since World T20 is near, maybe it is better not to drop anyone (including Agha).

After the WC is done, maybe things can be assessed.

Why not Agha gives us a favor and move everybody ahead of him in batting order till Nawaz.

Farhan
Saim
Babar
Fakhar
Usman
Nawaz
Agha

I won't be surprised if Usman looks clueless against decent bowling lineups at the world cup. For that reason, I will keep Rizwan in the squad so we can easily overcome this problem.

Yes because Rizwan looks like Lara against decent bowling line ups when he scores 33 off 47 as an opener 🤡

Or he can play the below innings

I'm sure most of these innings was as an opener too.

When guys like Farhan and Usman manage to play these knocks in places like New Zealand, England and South Africa then let me know. Until then 🤫

Agha out. Maaz in

Agha's strike rate of 125 in the tri series was rather disappointing and, to be honest, I am also concerned about the amount of time Babar took in the middle. If we assess the situation fairly, both Agha and Babar have raised questions about their roles in the T20 line-up.

Unfortunately, our options for backups are quite limited. Although the idea of picking Maaz Sadaqat is tempting, it would be a considerable risk for the WT20. In my honest opinion, one of Agha or Babar needs to be dropped and we should take that risk with Maaz. Personally, I would keep Babar and hope he elevates his game further.

As for the wicket-keeping role, the alternatives we've tried so far have been kachra. Therefore, I believe Riz should make a comeback. Riz has demonstrated quality gameplay against spin and can handle the spin tracks of India and Sri Lanka effectively.

I will pick Babar any day of the week over Agha. Not sure why Agha is being championed for his captaincy. We lost against then only good team in the Asia cup THREE times in a row and that was under his watch.

Won't be opposing the return of Rizwan to our T20 setup either.

So let’s open with Rizwan now? Is that what you want???
I'm highlighting what kind of innings Rizwan can play as a opener because you said
"when he scores 33 off 47 as an opener"

It's not really hard to understand but then again tum toh akal ke dushman ho

Your highlighting means Jack all until you clarify what you want him to do for Pakistan and where he actually fits in.

Be clear! He opens for Pakistan for you??

I would take the opinion of @Raja Ishtiaq over someone who thinks YK and Attapatu were proper ODI batters.
Read what you wrote again, and then again, and then again.

And then contemplate why you as a fan having been taking so many Ls in the past year or so.

There is no win or learn in your world. It’s learn hi learn.

I can't get over them two championing YKs ODI career as if it was anything other than mediocre 🤣 🤣

He was apparently a better ODI batsman than Babar who by the way has the joint highest number of centuries for us in ODIs.

Akal ke dushman for a reason

Agha needs to sort his batting in T20s , that's a fact like it or not , his SR of 115 will be detrimental to teams chances , opposition will like him to play a 30 ball 32 , if we are looking to move forward the Agha on merits does not warrant a place in t20 side by any means.

A. if we take Agha as batsman at #4, then Fakhar and H.Nawaz are more viable options than him.

B. If we take Agha as an allrounder then M. Nawaz offers more than in the side and he needs to bat in top 6.

But keeping in view the reality , Agha is the captain and he will play , so best thing Hesson can do is play him outside #6 , so that teams rhythm does not gets disturbed

Blast ho gayi?

Where does Rizwan bat in your Disneyland world??

If Rizwan gets selected in the world cup t20 squad then his batting position should be dependent on the situation and that could mean batting as a opener.

Be clear! Do you want Rizwan to replace Farhan??

If you have a solid, strong opinion about players and you want to play the hostility game,

I think Pak should persist with Farhan. He can take on the bowlers and not let them settle in a rhythm. He needs to improve his strike rotation though.
Regarding Babar, I think he should understand that now his role is very different to the one he did as an opener. He needs to make sure the inning doesn't get bogged down when he comes in and just go with the flow (if the openers have provided a solid start) or give the inning an impetus (if the openers have failed). Agha similarly, needs to play the same role and provide Pak some solidity in the middle that we clearly lacked in the Asia cup.
Shoaib Malik played that role very effectively in LOIs in Asia.

I have explained this a few times already now. If you still don't understand then sadly I can't help you

There is nothing you can do to help me in anyway. I won’t return the favour in trying either.

DONE HAVING PERSONAL CHATS???

NOW CAN YOU GUYS TALK SOMETHING THAT ACTUALLY MAKES SENSE AND IS RELEVANT ALSO???

IF NO THEN YOU ARE FREE TO LEAVE ASAP

Babar is never getting out now bongay!
He was booted out earlier this year and Pakistan cricket breathed again.

He will be booted out again, very soon. And that will be the final nail in the coffin for him.

Believe that.
