Why is the Pakistani captain looking content at drawing the series decider?

first of all with the batting approach that we saw. Took two days to score mere 375 thanks to Sarfraz cameo otherwise we were bundled out for 320. Now the defensive field set. If anybody saw fieldset for chase after he hit a four through midwicket you would be really surprised. Chasing slogging against Yasir through the rough patch was so so risky yet Misbah put all his men on the legside boundary after Chase was finally able to put one away for four. And his offside field fielders at boundary to cut any boundary despite having 5 fielders inside the circle was a joke as well.

It just shows Misbah was more scared of leaking runs than picking up wickets even against his premier bowler operating against highly inexperienced and low skilled players of spin.

I can understand WI playing out for draw since they a drawn series is a win win for WI as well as they are lower ranked and have been losing series for a long time and a drawn series here will earn them more points and Pakistan will lose points and will be ranked below NZ. Pakistan overall doesn't earn anything from this defensive display yet our captain and players seems quite content with the proceedings. It looks like they are facing WI of the 80s where a drawn series will be considered a great achievement.

Don't you realise its a tough pitch to bat and score freely? It's not like Pakistan is content with a draw but Windows are putting a good effort do far.

And yet Pakistan still have a chance.

As I said WI would love this game to be drawn and they are playing for a draw from the moment they won the toss. If they wanted to win they wouldn't have bowled first. Their batting is full of inexperience and they lack skills against spin. but that doesn't give us any excuse to take 2 days to reach 375. This Pak batting on paper should be dominating this bowling on these pitches which are typical UAE pitches.

Should've played faster, but everyone played slow, not just the captain.

Coming from you though, you would've attacked him even if they scored at 5 RPO.

Because we are playing WI in WI where we have never even won. I am sure he would be happy to draw.

There is no excuse for batting that slow in first inning. On any sort of wicket, it's hard to force a win if you bat < 3.5 runs /over . But, Misbah always plays for draw, win is bonus.

Fail thread. OP has gone into hiding.

Leave him alone, the poor guy is going through a hard time.

Misbah has become first Pakistani captain to win a series in West indies in entire test history by winning this match.

Even after a win, if one can post something like this; Either he/she have no understanding of Test cricket or Lying is habitual and hatred is shown.
< 3.5 runs/over yet = WIN.

Eliminating loss is a STRATEGY. BD posted 600+ and 3.5+ runs/per over, still lost at NZ. Losing gets you zero point.

Not a bad thread at all. This was very much a draw. Pakistani fans should be thankful to Gabriel.

Big mac you deserve a special award for that post

I may or may not have downloaded photo editing software at 3am just so I could make that post. The opportunity was to good to ignore :misbah

Content? I must have been watching a different match.

I understand being a fan of a player but it shouldnt get to the point where a person gets disappointed at their own team's win just cause their favorite player was not a part of the squad.

Saj you know better then us. This is a slap on all those so called cricket experts in pakistan blaming misbah for slow batting.

In the end AGAIN he proves them all wrong.

Big Mac, only if we could incorpoate that 'snow flake' (hail: search google for 'Umar Akmal eating Hail') eating video of UA in there, that would be even better:sarf

I don't follow him either, someone had shared it on PP in past and I went nuts seeing this guy's IQ level; here is another of his recent ones, right after performing Umrah: Look on his acct for Feb 6th video, also available on the net under 'Umar Akmal’s New Dance Video Is Breaking The Internet'

I just have no words for this guy's lack of common sense, in one comment on a David Whattmore tweet regarding the passing of a fellow player, he commented 'Very Nice', was trolled hard. Eventually his fellow 'genius' twitterean Ahmed Shehzad had to step in and make his realise his mistake (oh the irony). It can be found by 'Umar Akmal tweets 'very nice’ over cricketer’s death'

Oh boy you've missed about 10 other legendary Umar Akmal Twitter moments

Big Mac - You sir are amazing! That was hilarious

OP has been in hiding for a few days

True. At the end of the day, it's all fun of games. I'm sure there was no malicious intent meant by Big Mac.

Let's see how MRSN reacts. :uak

Big Mac : An idea for future usage, when utilizing that 'Hail eating' video, it would be funny if combined with his recent statement/video (?) where Mr. Genius talks about '"I gain weight even when I drink water":16:

I haven't used photoshop in about 10 years and although I just downloaded GIMP, it's so annoyingly unintuitive that I fear it'll be a while before I can make anything too elaborate :mv

Those last few overs - I don't think I have ever seen Misbah so animated.

It was clear he was desperate to win that match.

He was actually very calm compared to the rest of the guys, he was even smiling when the review overturned the caught.

Yes.. we all appreviated misbah for achieving what he achieved..But please dont justify his defensive techniques. He was surely too scared to loose against WI in his last series
