The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is set to reveal the 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024 tomorrow after a delay.

As per reports, the rain in Leeds, which led to the abandonment of the first match between Pakistan and England, has also caused a delay in finalizing the squad. Completion of this match could have potentially made the decision-making process easier.

Head coach Gary Kirsten, who recently joined the team, is meticulously evaluating player performances and consulting with other stakeholders to ensure a balanced and competitive squad

Pakistan is the only team (out of 20 teams) yet to disclose their squad.

Let Gary take a day to go through the final 2 to 3 spots. I believer everyone is confirmed barring who 2 to leave out. Potential question mark slots:

Among above 2 have to left out since Hasan is basically out.

Irfan is next most likely out.

That leaves only one other to leave out. I would personally take out Usman, he is very unlikely to feature as they have enough top order players and keeping options and he is not lower order player. Worst to worst case Shadab can even play just for batting alone if let's say Azam or Ifti or Fakhar or Saim have horrible 2 to 3 games.

So leave him out and you have much more options in bowling with spin pace and all rounders in particular Salman who could be a good alternative to have in squad.

It takes a very very long time to build a proper team. That's why wc the main event is every 4 years. 4 years is needed to prepare.

But Pakistan has been stuck in an eternal rebuilding phase since 2019. Although ill give them some credit. They have improved a bit.

They are trying desperately to make sure saim succeeds. But otherwise the effort is not their, the captain is a clown and the management especially this wahab riaz and saya is all over the place.

Pakistan was always a medicore team but 2018 involved wins against sides in t20 way way way stronger then NZ c team or Ireland lol

I agree but this has always been the case. Ironically it's better now with 2 other selectors. During misbah's coaching era and misbah captaincy era it was all Misbah and no one else. Selectors were their for a fat pay check.
