Why not consider Sahibzada Farhan as wicketkeeper after Mohammad Haris’s poor run?

Riz Babar reached semis in 2021 and finals in 2022. Only 2024 was failure. The other two T20 WCs are overachievement for Pakistan. Can Hesson's tulla team reach semis playing all their games in shitheaps of Colombo? No chance I think...

Yeah

RizBar are the reason for reaching Semis and final in the first place?

Get your perspective corrected first before you start throwing around your speculations.

You’ve got 55 posts. I bet you have some earlier writing off Hesson’s team against Afghanistan as well.

Babar and Rizwan are part of the ODIs and they haven't changed their approach yet. In the CT matches against New Zealand and India, as well as the first ODI in New Zealand, at least one or both of them played too slowly while the batter at other end was going at a good rate (Saud/Agha), which cost Pakistan. In the first ODI in the West Indies, they operated at a strike rate in the low 70s while chasing 285. Fortunately, Hassan Nawaz and Hussain Talat stepped up. They are extremely stubborn and bringing them back would result in them gaining control over the team, which would push Pakistan cricket further back in the limited overs.

Many of their fans say that Pakistan has only had mixed results in this format this year. However in ODIs, Pakistan has performed poorly. So, Pakistan is doing better in formats in which they have been dropped than in the ones they regularly play. It should also be noted that ODI format is more suited to their style of play than T20s.
I agree, my main point was only for babar in odi pre Misbah era though. While he was on the slower side he was improving day by day.

He got slower post misbah era though in all formats. He wasnt that slow from 2016-2020 infact he batted at higher sr's then Steve Smith, Root and Williamson at that point in time which was impressive as he was mostly playing in root's own den.

In cricket, wicketkeeping is a specialist job. Before anything else, a keeper must be able to keep properly and give confidence to the bowlers that everything behind the stumps is safe. Batting comes after that. If a keeper can bat well, it’s a huge bonus. These days, teams want their keeper to be at least a decent batsman who can contribute with the bat too, but in the end it all depends on what options you have available.

Farhan is not a keeper, and Pakistan can’t just decide out of nowhere to play him in that role. He needs to work on his fitness and improve his keeping first before being considered. The other names people are suggesting are also poor keepers and simply not good enough for international cricket.

Rizwan is clearly the best choice. He’s not only the best keeper in the world right now but also a better batsman than all the other available options. The first step should always be picking the best keeper. Where he bats in the order comes later. It’s as simple as that.

Rizwan will return, but if that happens a year or two later, Pakistan cricket will have already wasted some of the best years of his career.

Farhan needs to wake up and accept the reality that he will not stay in the team if he does not do keeping occasionally... Like in tri-series, we needed him to open so we can drop haris but management showed too much support for haris and he played all games and failed badly... Farhan needs to occupy that spot and make it his own.

still I m convined that we should give a chance to Farhan so he will keep the wickets and in place of Haris we can go with a proper batter like Hasan Nawaz

Stop hyping a fake modern day batter who is not even worth a club level.

Haris's fake hype bubble has burst, and he has had enough chances this time that there is no excuse left for anyone.

Has it burst at no 3? He's a better t20 batsmen then both Agha and Saim with his hands tied behind his back

He played at 3 as well.. Not a lot but it just takes 1 good knock to show what you are made off... Salman does not even trust him that he can pull this off that he was not even sent to bat against India where talat was sent ahead of him... not worth it.

Does salman trust himself?

Yeah that is why he walked out to bat at 4 and failed
Mate it was a rhetorical question?

Agha given the way he is batting atm is low on confidence, confidence is linked with trusting in yourself and ....

You know what never mind, I'm done explaining 🤦🏻.

Okay mate, what does this have anything to do with the confidence machine haris?

Salman Luckily got some rubbish balls from Rashid Khan in Sharjah which he was able to dispatch out of Park and we all went gaga over it that he can handle spin in middle. Reality is that he can handle spin in longer format. T20 is not for him

It means captain does not trust him... Simple... Because he is not worth it...

Problem is we have no keeper in the squad to replace him... Farhan is not willing to do keeping so now wat??

So you trust a captain who cannot trust himself?

That's like me trusting Donald Trump to make a sane decision for once?

But you trust me, and as long as you trust a friend in me, you can trust the process. Just don't trust the predictions :vk2
Sure bro... If this wins the cup, I will not only be amazed but I will be willing to forget every pathetic performance of these guys in the past for a fresh start

i would very much like to know the “ Process “ people are talking about on this forum. its a fancy word to throw around. but somehow we cant see it

I don't know either bro 🤣🤣. I'm just messing around with others.

But genuinely I have no clue. You'll have to ask someone who uses this word often lol.

The only silver lining in this current setup is that the lower order can bat extremely well hence the tail enders are stronger.

But woth that being said, the bad news is that it seems only these lads can bat and the top and middle order is useless lol
