Why not use Babar Azam as an opener in ODIs?

Babar should seriously consider this for the SL game.

Pakistan team management treat their game plan like it is the gospel. I would not expect them to make any changes regarding the situation.

Babar will do well as opener, but two questions

1) Which opener should he replace - Fakhar or Imam?

2) Spare batters in squad are Shafique and Agha. Is it worth dropping Imam or Fakhar to get either/both of them in?

I’d he fine with him coming as an opener. He has the skills to deal with the moving ball and lately one of our openers has been getting out early anyway so he’s been in at an early time.

There have been all sorts of suggestions given by people about who should be opening. Babar can open no doubt about that, but it will not be happening until they are looking to throw Fakhar or imam out of the team for good. They will always go with fakhar and imam as we have no other backup specialist opener in the team.
