with malik batting well...plsu inzi and yousaf getting a few....younis khan always dependable......if only the openers can play a part pakistan have a few things to be positive about...

bowling was much better than in S.A too.....bowled well today...
 
Malik has ensured that I wont be going to work in a completely bad mood :D
 
Shoaib malik has played like a cornered tiger, he's pure class and like other ppers and pakistanis he has made me proud. Malik is showing his seniors younis, yousuf and inzamam how to play.

Atleast my mood will not be so bad with malik's innings.

you must be kidding. we cant even beat WI which was thrashed by india other day, how can we beat SA. no chance.

Its our openers that mess things up - i mean we are 2 down before the innings has started - how we miss Anwar :( :(

i'm afraid thats a myth, younis is not dependable in ODI's.

exactly !!

with pressure like that ...any target will look too big....

it puts pressure on the middle order so that they can't play their normal game......sort this out and you will be right up there with the best again....


don't worry guys....many games left in the world cup....

come on guys, dont big shoib malik up. he is under no pressure what so ever as all the top guns have failed today. so he is going for everything whereas inzi, mo yo, etc., were under pressure. so as long as we dont win this game, this innings from malik counts for nothing.

Maybe if we had Akmal on the otherside, not with a pure tailenders.
 
So guys what margin of runs will pakistan lose today's opening world cup match against the home team west indies ??... i predicted 50 runs...what you guys think ?

Forget Anwar - I never thought I would say it - I miss Rameez. At least I wouldn't have to listen to him I suppose.
 
Malik needs alot more of the strike, and needs to be alot more explosive as well...! Though it would be asking for too much...

How come you have started talking so positively for pakistan.

Anyways great inings by malik, it's a shame there is no one to support him as his great innings will go waste.

Malik played at no. 3 for a year or so and was the best no. 3 in world cricket during that period - better than Ponting even.

Then YK took his place for some inexplicable reason.

Malik should be back up the order.

Inzi imo has played very negatively lately because of the situation the team has found itself in. He should lead from the front - open the innings. He's not very useful at no. 5 anymore.

asking way too much of him BUT if he managed him then im sure he will have won over even his harshest of critics (of which there are a few on PP)

regardless of the result he has played well

If only Inzi and Yousuf didn't bat like it was a test match we might have had a chance.
 
good fight back....might not result in a win...but it shows what could have happened if pakistan weren't 37 for 3!!!

openers need to concentrate on a solid slow start...and let the middle order come in to bat with a solid foundation...after all they are the real talented stars....how stupid to make them bat under pressure everytime!
 
Well looks like my prediction is going to be proved wrong. I predicted pakistan will lose by 50 runs but it looks they will lose by slightly less than 50 runs !

normally.....but selfishly I want the world cup to be a sucess....so I said I want west indies to do well......but you know...when i watch a game and i see one team is struggling I always want to support them .....it always more rewarding when a team wins from a hard position......

9 down.....forget it.....half of the 4 teams in the super 8's wont have the extra points...including s.a (we will probably lose to oz) ...doesn't mean anything really....

Rana only gave 3 runs in the first over he bowled
Nazir hit a six and that is maybe six runs more than what some thought.
I don't see what the problem is
 
If Rana plays again...Pakistani selectors should be hung. Form is what define world cup glory. You get your best players IN form.
