Will a change in batting order be necessary for Pakistan in the 2nd innings to save/win 3rd Test?

Azhar looking like a sitting duck, Shafiq worse although he has some runs in this series.

Pakistan need a good start and some solidity at the top to salvage whatever pride they can from the final Test.

So, however embarassing it may be, will Asad and/or Azhar be demoted in the batting order?

Olivier will bounce them all day long , the only order change can be made is to play babar at number 3 and send azhar to number 5. I dont think though azhar alis batting style will help him score at number 5 but can help him survive a bit longer.

Should go with the same batting order. Promoting Babar to 3/4 mid game will put a lot of pressure on him.

Pakistan cannot chase anything over 250, I doubt they can chase 200 even. We can make all the changes to the order we want it won't happen. Regardless Babar should come at 4 if we want to show at least some fight.

Send Azhar, Shafiq and Fahim as no. 9, 10 and 11 to punish and humiliate them. The match is already over for us.

Really feel M Abbas as number 3 to atleast buy us some time and see out the new ball!

A request for Azhar and Asad at number 10 and 11?

The only target should be to face the 2nd new ball. I wouldn't put too much pressure on Babar. One failure here if he comes in at 3 will set him back.
He has had no failures on this tour, so no need to create doubt in his mind before the odis

^i dont count his 2 single digit scores as failures, cos he got 2 balls he could do NOTHING about.
The unplayable 1 from rababda and the bouncer from Olivier that kept low and took his glove

Think they've only gotten over 190 once so fair in this series, so anything over 150 would have been difficult. A target of 300+ is impossible and miracles by Pakistan in SA don't really come often.

I would have three night watchmen at top of the order - the three A’s in Abbas, Azhar, Amir followed by the tailenders Hasan Ali, Asad Shafiq, Sarfraz, the all rounders Shadab, Fahim and lastly the specialist batsmen Babar, Shan and Imam.

Worth a try - can’t do any worse..we’ve already got specialist batsmen playing like night watchmen and tail enders in any case :)

Babar Azam giving a lesson to Asad Shafiq - no nightwatchman needed.
