PCB has announced the Ticket prices for the Pakistan vs Bangladesh Test series.

Ticket prices are set to be affordable, ranging from PKR 50 for general admission (Wasim Bari enclosure in Karachi) to PKR 250,000 for a full hospitality box at NBS in Karachi.

Will this 50 Pakistan Rupee ticket help fill the stadium for the upcoming test matches?

Flat pitches. Weak opponent (BD).

So, people may not come even if it is cheap.

Also, many may prefer to watch from home.

Public be like!

If Karachites cant afford that than dont give them matches than.

I am also from Karachi bhai and i can afford watching these games lol :D

Joke apart only traffic kills the interest of public here in Karachi.. National Stadium is located in very busy area and if u want to reach stadium so u have to leave ur house atleast 3 hours before the game starts.

Will pindi be sold out for a test series? Intresting.

I'm sure it'll be sold out for odi and t20, but do people on pindi really sell out a stadium for a test match?

I doubt it will bring people to the stands.

Who wants to sit in these mediocre stadiums burning in the sun on uncomfortable seats and awful amenities. You can barely see what's going on so far away and there's no noise or good atmosphere or excitement that you can get from a white ball match. People have jobs too.

Amazes me Test cricket hasn't switched to night Tests full time. People have jobs... it's a miracle anyone shows up.

I feel they should have tried one day night test in Pak in such series.

There are many issues with stadium infra that can only be papered over but with D/N games, low tickey prices and with good pitches which have some assistance for seamers, PCB can look to make a decent viewing experience for spectators.

Agree.

Pakistan should try day/night Test matches at home.

These 50 rupee tickets will not make much difference. Nobody wants to see a boring test match on flat roads especially in such heat.

Wow, Pindi crowd is wilder then I thought.

I Should defo visit here next year for CT 2025 assuming atleast some games happen in pakistan.

No one will watch such a mediocre team in these prehistoric Byzantine stadiums that lack basic necessities.

It’s 2024 and if the fan experience is nonexistent, the fans will stay away and watch this mediocre team from their 480p quality screens in the comfort of their homes.

Australia - india BGT series tickets are already sold or huge demanded Even more than 3 months remaining .

Meanwhile Pakistan vs Bangladesh ticket prices are at low and also no demand from home town.

This is the insult of Test Cricket and Test playing nations .

Actually the Pakistani awaam has diverted their attention to Arshad, you know the guy who won GOLD at the Paris Olympics, something which a certain high performing economy couldnt even manage.

That is why interest are low, because at the end of the day, an Olympic Gold is better than all sports.

I think once this dies down, Pakistani cricket fans will return

Yes its a big moment for Pakistan and deserved all the attention .

But i think 15 Rs ticket( 15 PKR) is insult to test cricket instead they should just announced free entry .

Nvm,
PCB has not allowed spectators.

Consturction work is being done, the spectators area is unsafe and i think fans can easily enter the ground so which is why no spectators are allowed now

From 50 PKR ticket to not allowing a spectator at all. LOL

----------------------

In light of ongoing construction work at the National Bank Stadium as part of preparations for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has made the difficult decision to hold the second Test match between Pakistan and Bangladesh, scheduled for 30 August to 3 September, without spectators in attendance.

Why even they are playing cricket when there is construction works ongoing at perticular stadium.

Isn't this unsafe for player's??

I don't think it's unsafe for players but PCB incompetence is shown again.

If I was Bangladeshi I'd not send the team.

No one likes watching test cricket that's why.

Test cricket is extremely unpopular for the Gen Z market and pakistani population average age is 23, It's a young awaam and it makes sense since the country itself is younger then some people's Dada's and Daddi's.

Theirs just a lack of interest for the gen Z market when all attention is on bang bangs in t20's.

Australia and India is different. Their an older bunch and just have a more competitive cricket test rivalry.

A gift on independence day.

It won't make much of a difference in my opinion because National Stadium is often nearly empty anyways.

Would be glad if they at least competently renovate the Stadiums in time.
Bro who calls a visiting team and makes them play on a construction site?

This is just terrible.

Would they do it against England or Australia? No chance!

Not just this, but getting inside the stadium is a painful experience. You have to walk like 2km and get bodychecked by police like 50 times. Once you get inside you have these prehistoric seats (if you are lucky enough to buy the expensive tickets) and absolutely awful, overpriced refreshments like orange juice with 90% water and fries made in oil that feels like it has been used for atleast a week

When was the last time the present players won anything significant for the country? Semi final and final appearances don't count. Winning consistently and being on the top of the rankings in all formats is what ultimately drives sponsorship and fan engagement.

Our players are already proving to be dead horrible investments who keep getting away with because of the "There is no one to replace them" garbage.

This is so dumb and incompetent from the PCB. First off, what are you thinking scheduling a series in Pakistan in the heat of August? Secondly, why would you schedule a test in a stadium where you know construction is taking place?! It's like they want to not make money.

Beyond the gate they could have made here, it will probably just look really bad to see two teams playing in an empty broken down stadium. It will probably feel like something out of the COVID era.

They could have easily scheduled both test matches in Rawalpindi, which is known for drawing packed crowds. Or they could have scheduled one in Multan in September and that would have drawn a pretty sizeable crowd too. But these people are just dumb and incompetent. This kind of basic thinking and foresight is beyond them.

It's bad to see two international teams playing test series in a constructions site. I know, it's BD and not Aus or Eng but they are an international test team. PCB needs to reminds eveyrone why they are PCB.

This is one of the most embarrassing moments in our cricket.

Lets give the PCB some benefit of doubt. They themselves have had to operate on a war footing to upgrade these stadiums and the process required them getting in touch with multiple local and international companies. They are already racing against time where they have to complete these renovations in 4-5 months and the schedule for this series was decided by previous PCB Chairman's i.e. Ramiz Raja.

If anything the real blame and questions need to be asked from the previous PCB chairman's as to what did they do to uplift the cricket infrastructure in the country.

I don't know I feel like this situation could have been very easily avoided. The schedule for this series was announced what? A couple of months ago? I refuse to believe that they didn't know they would be doing renovation work on NSK by August. Scheduling two matches in Pindi is still better than scheduling a match in an empty stadium.

Out of context, but it is good to see Wasim Bari has been honored with an enclosure named after him.
Most of the members here would not have really heard of him, leave alone watched him live on TV, but Bari was among the best keepers (not keeper batsman) in the world. His keeping to Imran and Sarfaraz Nawaz was exceptional with him diving and taking catches in front of first and sometimes even second slip are etched in my mind. He was equally great at keeping to Abdul Qadir, Iqbal Qasim, and Tauseef Ahmed.
Seeing his name rekindled some old memories.

Might as well make it free!

It’s psychological.

They want to make the fans have a taste of international cricket by buying tickets at very cheap price. Once they form this habit they can increase the price.

This new political leadership in Pakistan is extremely astute unlike the hawabaaz Imran Khan era.

Doesn't matter the ground will yet be mostly empty as there's barely an appetite for test cricket in Pakistan.

Hopefully England tests will be having decent crowds with the Barmy Army and some locals like last time.
