As I have been talking about this factor in my posts over the last few weeks. Thanks for picking up on this and creating a new thread.
Yes, INDEED that's a factor and a big one. ESPECIALLY for Pak players.
The biggest factor is, miss-hits won't go for a six if they are playing in 80 yards or more. You gotta have the right connection and right amount of timing/power behind the stroke to hit a six, otherwise, you are probably going to get caught.
Second, it will take some toll on the players' fitness during the fielding while almost every team will realize the ground size and look for more singles and doubles and threes.
Pak players should realize this and stay in their aukaat and play with a focus on hitting fours, get a few 3's and mostly shoot for twos and ones.
This is could be good for our middle order if they identify this reality and use it for their own advantage. Which means, do NOT show heroics, something that you are not capable of, to begin with.
However, this is also bad news for Nawaz and Asif. The must look for more fours rather than sixes. Play wisely by identifying the ground realities compared to your skill level.
Again,
Pak bigger hitters; LOOK FOR 4's and not Sixes. 8 out of times you will get out if u trying to hit six in big grounds.
Top order; try to take advantage of power play, and give us a reasonable at the end of power play.
And middle order; stay in your aukaat and look for one and twos rather than tuk tuk tuk, and get out in attempt to hit big under a self imposed pressure situation.
Australia is THE ONLY place where I have seen batsmen running 4 runs (without misfield or over throw) in a T20 game while the fielder chased the ball to save the boundary. This is how large that one particular venue was.
These large boundaries ARE TRULY what we need in all T20 games all over the world because they separate boys from men.
