It begs belief how anyone would want him dropped from the side.

It’s gotten to the stage where Grant Flower will need to place his head half a metre away from off stump in order to prevent Fakhar from hanging his bat and edging to slips.
He used to smoke the balls outside off. The constant threat of short ball is making him sit in the crease and hang his bat out without any forward press
Makes you wonder what he’s been doing in the nets to overcome this weakness, it’s better to get out throwing the kitchen sink at a wide ball and getting caught at gully than to play a little dab to the keeper.
Thats the surprising thing. I saw him smoke a few short balls to sixers too against NZ. Maybe it's more of a mental thing even though there are technical issues. He's not a pinch hitter to throw the kitchen sink. His scores are typically around 90 to 100 SR. I think his role is not to hit everything but to bat atleast 15 overs.
His SR is 140 in T20’s, with Pakistan playing with 3 all rounders it gives him the licence to go hard from ball 1.
What’s even more surprising is that during the power play when the fielders are inside the 30 yard circle, he’s unable to hit over the in field through the off side.
Just cutting it over gully gets you 4 runs.
Only on PP would you hear rubbish like 'Fakhar's CT 100 have hurt Pakistan'.
Fakhar has won more matches for Pakistan than whatever alternatives you provide have, or ever will. Let that sink in
I don't get why they've not tried others instead of playing him match after match when he is so short of confidence.
One thing which no one notices is the way his bat turns in his hand when he plays a shot. Every ball hits the inside of the bat. The batting coach is clueless.
This is one of the technical flaws that I have been harping on about.
Bat twisting
Head position wrong
Too much bottom hand
Not playing straight a lot of the time
Getting onto the front foot too early resulting in short balls causing him problems.
I'm no batting coach and if I can spot this then why can't Flower.

Ok so he has played two "Top Teams" since the CT. New Zealand, and South Africa. He has struggled against SA. But in the 7 matches he played against NZL his stats are as follow:
Matches - 7 (5 of them In NZL)
Runs - 304
Ave - 51
SR - 86
50's - 4
Yeah but one tough series in SA and we should drop him for good because the almighty and all knowing poster of PP knew he was going to fail and his technique was never good enough. All his performances at the Intl level have been flukes so let's dust them under the carpet, and drop him forever.![]()
The mentality of hit out, or get out. No point having a brain if you can't use it. This is what I was afraid of when he first started. But he improved his game by nudging the ball around and opening up the off-side.
Unfortunately, like many in the squad, he's regressed.
We keep going after players but what is Grant Flower doing for all these years ? He gets away with it every time.

Look at the other side of the coin. Why aren't you crediting Grant Flower for Babar's rise? Maybe thats why he's in the team
I think it's his own downfall contributing to his slide rather than being found out. He's been getting out to a lot of air shots recently and just needs to be more patient as he still has the ability to score runs quickly.
He doesn't need to try and blast the ball out of the ground every other stroke. Look at Babar in the T20's, he was hitting at 150 SR but playing proper cricket shots. Of course, not every player is like Babar but Fakhar just needs to manage his game better and then he'll be able to last longer.
Back on the tracks of UAE and he looks comfortable.
Still some awful shots when he is trying to hit the ball too hard.

Even Shadab was bowling on his legs. Thats a spinner!!
At the start of this thread, it was like UAE pitches are not cut out for him and he can only play on fast SENA pitches. Looks like it has reversed now.
Still maintain decent record in sena countries.he just struggle with bounce of sa wicket .in other country he have very good record
Vs Nz in nz he averges 50 in odis
Vs sa in sa he averages 33 in odis
In eng he averages 63

Time to move on and get Sharjeel Khan and Shahzaib Hasan to open
Fakhar is here to stay as he scored 100 in CT final and 200 vs Zimbabwe. He is a slightly better version of Ahmad Shehzad. He will go missing against top teams but dominate minnows.
