Personally speaking, my interest for India v Pakistan has largely been killed by the BCCI's antics and the Pakistan Cricket team's recent performances in these matches. It's just not fun anymore. Any match between these two sides in Asia is dominated by B.S politics and drama, almost always from one side. Cricket is supposed to be an avenue to escape that crap, rather than be reminded of it again and again. It's highly irritating, which is why I don't understand why we can't just stop playing them altogether? Then again maybe I'm answering my own question here. Neither the PCB or the Pakistan government has an ounce of self-respect. So why would they take a stand over a match that takes place once, maybe twice a year.

If India plays its matches in UAE then Pakistan should get their group changed or something. I don't want to see the Pakistan team travelling back and forth between UAE and Pakistan. It will be very hard on the players and defeats the purpose of playing a tournament infront of your home crowd. I don't want to see that farce we saw in the Asia Cup again. And a Champions Trophy at home is much more important than an overhyped India-Pakistan match anyways. If ICC really cares about making money from that match then India should come to Lahore. Somehow though I feel that the PCB is too spineless to take a stand on this. They are usually the biggest enemies of their own players, why would they start caring about them now?
That travelling part is just excuse in case Pakistan won't qualified for Semifinals.

India travel a lot whenever they play at home (Distance between some City's is greater than Pakistan to Dubai).

Agree with rest part about crowd etc.

Champions Trophy: PCB ready to follow 'Hybrid Model', India likely to play in UAE

Karachi, In an apparent climb down from its earlier stated position, Pakistan Cricket Board is willing to make "adjustments" in the schedule of the 2025 Champions Trophy which it is hosting with matches involving India taking place in the UAE, according to sources.

It could mean that the tournament may be held in the 'Hybrid Model' as the Indian government is unlikely to allow its team to travel to Pakistan in the existing socio-political environment and security concerns for national team.

The last tournament that Pakistan hosted was the Asia Cup in 2023, conducted in a 'Hybrid Model' with India playing their matches in Sri Lanka as the government refused to permit the players' travel across the border.

“The PCB feels that even if Indian government does not clear the tour to Pakistan slight adjustments can be made to the schedule, as in all probability India would play its matches in Dubai or Sharjah,” a reliable source in the PCB told PTI.

The International Cricket Council , on its part, can't force any Board to go against its government policy and it will be interesting to see as to when BCCI takes a final call on the matter. By the time, the final call is likely to be made, ICC will be chaired by India's Jay Shah.

Meanwhile, the PCB is pushing the ICC to announce the schedule for the tournament by next week as some top officials of the world governing body are due to visit Lahore again next week.

“The PCB has discussed with the ICC the tentative schedule which they sent some months back and wants the same schedule announced on 11 November,” said the source.

“It has told the ICC that since a back-up plan is already in place with a revised budget there is no sense in delaying releasing a tentative schedule of matches.”

He said the PCB has also asked the ICC to push the BCCI to confirm if they will send their team to Pakistan for the February-March event next year.

“The PCB wants the BCCI to give in writing whether they get permission from their government or not to send their team to Pakistan,” the source said.

According to the tentative schedule proposed by the PCB, the marquee Champions Trophy match between arch-rivals India and Pakistan is slated in Lahore on March 1 next year.

The tournament is slated to begin on February 19, 2025, with Pakistan facing New Zealand in Karachi. The final is scheduled on March 9 at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.

According to the tentative schedule, all of India's matches have been kept in Lahore for security and logistical reasons.

The PCB is spending nearly 13 billion rupees on upgrading its stadiums in Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi where the CT matches would be held, according to sources.

Pakistan rejects rumours of agreeing to Champions Trophy hybrid model: Sources

The Pakistan Cricket Board has rubbished media reports that claimed it agreed to host the Champions Trophy in a hybrid model that would allow India to play their matches at a neutral venue. PCB stressed that it has not spoken about the hybrid model even as there is uncertainty around India travelling across the border for the 50-over showpiece event, scheduled to be held in February-March 2025.

A PCB source told India Today on Friday, November 8 that Pakistan have not considered a hybrid model and is keen on hosting the entire tournament across three venues -- Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi. The clarification comes at a time when speculation is rife that the International Cricket Council will announce the Champions Trophy schedule on November 11. Reports claimed that the ICC would announce the schedule without confirming the venues for the eight-team tournament.

An ICC delegation is set to visit Pakistan to take stock of the preparations next week.

"The hybrid model is not under consideration. It is documented that its position has not changed. People file stories claiming sources X Y Z. People file anything just to get some views. As of now, we haven't decided anything as far as the Champions Trophy. Our stand is as it is," a PCB source said.

Notably, Pakistan hosted the Asia Cup 2023 in a hybrid model through which India played their games in Sri Lanka. The final was also played in Sri Lanka.

The Indian cricket board (BCCI) hasn't conveyed its stand on the senior national men's team travelling to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy. The BCCI will be in touch with the Indian government for the same.

India Today reported earlier that it's highly unlikely that India would travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy and a final call will only be taken by the Indian government.

India haven't played cricket in Pakistan since the Asia Cup in 2008 while bilateral cricket between the two teams have ceased to exist after the 2012-13 season. India and Pakistan, however, have faced each other in ICC and Asian Cricket Council tournaments.

The tournament is slated to begin on February 19, 2025, with Pakistan facing New Zealand in Karachi. The final is scheduled on March 9 at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.

Pakistan has allocated close to 17 billion rupees for upgrading stadiums in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi ahead of next year's tournament.

As per reports:

ICC has set a deadline for India to respond within a week, hoping for a positive answer on its participation in the eagerly awaited tournament.

While seven other nations have confirmed their participation in Pakistan, India's stance remains uncertain. Typically, the ICC releases the tournament schedule 3–4 months before the start, but this time, there might be a special schedule announcement between November 10 and 12 in Pakistan, with India’s matches proposed to take place in Lahore.

As per indian media reports:

BCCI refused to come to Pakistan to participate in the ICC Champions Trophy next year.

The Indian board has instead asked to play its matches in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Was bound to happen . India wants to keep this issue going . What will PCB next move going to be ?

Disgusting. This shouldn't be accepted by PCB,

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, while addressing the media at Gaddafi Stadium:

"In regards to the media reports suggesting that India will not travel, let me clarify that we've been hearing rumors in the Indian media for the past two months. Yesterday, when this news started circulating, I discussed it with my team. Our stance is clear: if any such decision is made, it should be provided to us in writing. Until now, no such written communication has been received by the PCB. We are not engaged in any discussions about a hybrid model, nor are we prepared to discuss it at this point."

"As far as media reports go, if Indian media is reporting something, there should be a letter from the ICC or the Indian Board. So far, we haven’t received anything like that. We hope that sports can be free from politics. Cricket, or any sport, should not be subject to political agendas. We are making preparations for the Champions Trophy, and Inshallah, it will be a successful event."

"If any official decision comes through, then I would consult the government, which will make the final call on this matter. Pakistan has shown great gestures over the past few years, but it’s unreasonable to always expect us to take the first step."

"Regarding the schedule for the Champions Trophy, the ICC has a 100-day obligation to announce it, and any delays could impact contract money and other aspects. We are expecting the ICC to announce the schedule soon."

"Our preparations are ongoing, and we are hopeful that the Champions Trophy will be hosted successfully in Pakistan. Every effort will be made to accommodate foreign teams, with facilities to ensure their stay is comfortable. We wish that more people from outside Pakistan come to watch the tournament here."

"Pakistan has traveled to India in the past, including for the 2023 World Cup, and we provided all necessary support to make it happen. We also made a gesture to the Indian Cricket Board, allowing their team to “fly in and fly out” for matches, to address any concerns they may have."

"If India decides not to come, and if written communication is received, I will share it with the media and with the government, which will then make a decision. There are always rumors, but as of now, nothing is confirmed. We have given clear offers, and I hope we will see sportsmanship prevail."

"The international community and different cricket boards are eager to play the Champions Trophy in Pakistan. I don’t believe anyone should be influenced by politics, and I am optimistic that we will hold the tournament successfully here."

"On the matter of diplomatic efforts for cricket relations, we've made our stance clear and hope that cricket can help foster better relations and sportsmanship between nations."

Naqvi uncle, now tell the truth to the Pakistani public. How long will you keep denying?

Just end this facade and say "we are ok with the hybrid model". No need to pander to your domestic audience when everybody knows you will kneel down in the end.

Well done ICC.

Equally important, have they asked SL to stand by. If not, then the deadline for India is just pure BS. For show only.

How will it go?

Will India play it's game in SL or Dubai? If so 1 semifinal and Final will be outside Pakistan. Sad. But this is most likely how it will go.

so again same thing is going to happen like Asia cup that small chunk of games will be played in Pakistan and all major games wil be shifted to Dubai.

Somehow I am often surprised by the superiority complex. It is kosher when Pakistan mixes politics but when India does it, it is `spoiling the essence`
Why are you surprised by the superiority complex ? They literally made a called the "Land of the pure".
