The Liverpool team looks to have all bases covered and they have dominated EPL by a long way this season.

Manchester City were way behind this year but they have the means to make a comeback.

Chelsea have been splashing the cash on the likes of Werner. Will there be another winner next season or can Liverpool make it 2 in 2 after a 30 year wait?

City is a better team and Pep is a better coach, so it all depends on whether they perform to their best ability.

City is a better team and Pep is a better coach, so it all depends on whether they perform to their best ability.

City has a better squad but in the first 11 man to man Liverpool is pretty much at par. Is Pep a better coach? Only because of titles won. Klopp has won 3 domestic titles and a Champions League and played 2 Champions League finals with spending far less money than Pep. So no not necessarily a better manager.

The football Liverpool has been playing for last 3-4 years is nothing short of great. They have been consistently playing great football which clearly suggests they can repeat that feat next year.

Having said that the premier league itself is going to be the place for best football in coming years. With money being pumped into Newcastle the quality of football would only improve. The likes of City are a gun team on their day and Chelsea with their breath of fresh air will be stronger and stronger with every passing year.

Also would like to point out what Klopp has done over the years with Dortmund and Liverpool is nothing short of extraordinary. Unlike some he has actually built a team from nothing with limited resources not to challenge the best but be the best, quite an achievement in modern football.

Chelsea plan to splash the cash but are a long way off Liverpool.

Man City will probably spend big. Their problems seem to be Aguero's fitness and at centre-half to pair up with Laporte.

All depends on how Klopp manages to retain his players and the new players he brings in. Chelsea has already indicated they will be a force to reckon with next season with signings of Ziyech and Werner. Their younger players also have a lot of potential and I foresee them being a major challenger to both City and Liverpool. If City have a transfer ban they will drop more points next season. If Liverpool players stay fit and the likes of Minamino and Naby improve their fitness and gameplay theres no reason why this squad can't retain the title

Liverpool chairman Tom Werner wants title to bring 'sustained success'

Liverpool chairman Tom Werner hopes the club's first Premier League title will ensure "another period of sustained success".

The Reds won their first league title in 30 years on Thursday, when Manchester City lost 2-1 at Chelsea.

Jurgen Klopp's side, who have also won the Champions League, Super Cup and Club World Cup, are 23 points clear with seven games remaining.

"We want to undersell and over-deliver," said American Werner.

"All of us were so delighted because this has been a long march. I know that our supporters struggled for 30 years to reach this pinnacle."

Liverpool had last won English football's top flight in 1989-90 and had to wait three decades for their 19th championship, having won 11 between 1973 and 1990.

That wait was prolonged by the suspension of Premier League football because of the coronavirus pandemic, but their title win is the earliest on record in terms of game remaining.

"The competition is fierce and I know our rivals are working tirelessly to upend us," Werner, chairman since 2010, told the club website.

He praised boss Klopp and sporting director Michael Edwards and, asked what was next for the club, said: "We hopefully would be ensuring another period of sustained success.

"One of the things that stuck with me this year was their hunger for winning. I don't think that will be diminished. They're such a good group of players.

"I have such fondness for them as individuals off the pitch. They're humble, they're kind, they enjoy each other's company. You could see that in the videos when they were all celebrating.

"It's a lot to ask them to stay at this extraordinary level but it is our goal to continue to play with this quality."

Chelsea and Man City are both a few world class defenders off the top, and that's what sets Liverpool far ahead of the rest right now. With Chelsea signing Werner, Ziyech while Abraham and Pulisic are improving, they can clearly compete in the goals department with Liverpool, and of course Man City can. But with defenders like Rudiger, Christensen, Alonso, Otamendi, Mendy and thrusting Fernandinho in at centre back, Chelsea and Man City will never compete with Liverpool.

No reason to think they won't. Winning the league with 7 games to go while losing just one game on the road is an incredible feat.

Man city have to be at their absolute best to stop them next season. Liverpool's defence is arguably the best in Europe.

Pretty much this.

Alisson, VVD, TAA and Robertson >>>>>> Any other premier League defence.

LP only won because City faltered, otherwise they had no chance, and knowing pep, he will go back into the market and spend whatever it takes to streghen even more, he will probably throw whatever money it takes to land koulibaily,

LP also have to keep there momentum up, because like City this season they can slip from it.

Hopefully MU wil also strengthen and fix the problem at right wing with Sancho, then with rashford and martial having found form and momentum, and the MF in place with Pogba and Bruno they will be a force to reckon with. Next season they will challenge MC for the title.

Both Pep and Klopp are brilliant, but the reason I consider Pep to be better is that he actually improves players as footballers instead of simply making them work in his system.

Since his rise as a manager in 2008, no coach has improved more players than Pep.

He has not only won countless trophies for himself - Spain basically won the World Cup because of him.

He needs money to win things but so does every manager in today’s game. When Klopp didn’t have money to spend, he won nothing, finished 20 points behind City and was losing Europa finals to Emery.

He only started to deliver silverware when Barcelona overpaid for Coutinho and he used that money to buy a world class CB and GK for record fees.

Liverpool are going to be favourites for next season, there's no doubting that. But imo they are going to find it very difficult, they let go last transfer window without any major signing and they are most probably heading the same way this transfer window as well. They couldn't afford Werner (around €50m), so looks very unlikely that they are gonna have any big or decent signing.

One would argue that they have a perfect squad, so why change but their reserves aren't as great compared to let's say City and Chelsea is also on a signing spree having already signed up two biggies in Ziyech and Werner and are linked with many players. Liverpool are also looking to get rid of many players and some deadwood whose contracts have expired have already been let go. Jurgen has been great, but he has underutilized Shaqiri and he's certain to leave after the season finishes, Mane and Origi are also linked with many clubs. Liverpool will be heavily relying on academy players as subs and reserves for next season & as such Elliot, Wilson and Brewster will most likely get some decent game time next season. All of these guys are fine talents but it's a completely different thing playing and performing in age restricted competitions & 2nd Division then it's in PL, so that's an area where i think Liverpool are gonna struggle and find it difficult.

Their midfield and front 3 are coming towards the age of 30 so they need to look to freshen up in these areas with the right players. If they don't, I don't see them retaining.

Manchester City will apprentley being signing Koulibaliy. So they will already be stronger at the back than they were this season.

Yes lets give credit for Liv title win to City for faltering

Cant see no reason why not... I called this season before the first ball was kicked, we would win it.

City and Chelsea will be the two teams to rival LFC but we have a squad which is now used to winning.

For LFC to retain the title will be arguably a bigger achievement.

A part of management is buying and selling players to try to get the best combination going. Pep from the very beginning has had the luxury of picking and choosing any player he wants.

Pep may improve his players but what is the point when you have spent an odd 60 million pounds on them? Pep is lauded for how he has improved Sterling though Sterling was pretty good even before that for Liverpool and scoring plenty of goals. If you think Klopp doesnt improve players you are mistaken. Lewandowski, Aubameyang, Gotze, Salah, Mane, Firmino, Coutinho, Trent, Andy Robertson, Joe Gomez all have had drastic improvements after working under Klopp. And if you think he only works a system you are also mistaken. He has changed the system since Coutinho left. Which manager in the world has a right back as their playmaker? Having followed Klopp very closely he has made a lot of changes to his playing style during his time at Liverpool and that means as a manager he is able to adjust on the basis of the strengths of his players and not the other way around which is what Pep is. With Pep you either have those quick passing tiki-taka traits or else you can not play.

I will not even get into net spend as you are probably from the brigade but he still spent money.

But surely this Liverpool team exemplifies Klopp's ability to improve players? Mane, Henderson, Firmino, Salah, TAA, Robertson, Wijnaldum, all absolute stars for this Liverpool side and all nowhere near the level they were before Klopp bought/managed them. The most expensive of those signings was Salah for 40 million, and everyone thought Liverpool got ripped off by Roma for that price tag. Look where he is now.

The only real ready-made big money signings Klopp made were VVD and Allisson, and the rest of that Liverpool team 4 years ago were nothing compared to them now, and clearly as the manager who brought those players in and has now tripled their market value, he has to take credit for improving them.

Take a look at some of Pep's signings: Rodri, Mahrez, Laporte, Cancelo, Walker, Ederson, Mendy, Sané, Bernardo, Stones. The CHEAPEST of those is Ederson at 40 million. Most of them are players who were already at the top of their game or who are just general failure signings. Players such as Aguero, Sterling, KDB were already at the club before Pep came, and Aguero was already one of the world's best.

I'm not saying Pep hasn't improved his players at City, undoubtedly he has, KDB, Sterling, Sané have all flourished under him. But to suggest that Pep has bought ready-made less than Klopp and has improved his players more than Klopp has at Liverpool, that's simply not true. Klopp has not spent nearly as much as Pep in their respective reigns in the Premier League, yet his team has absolutely blown away Pep's this season. I think you seriously underestimate Klopp's improving of his players to arguably the best squad of footballers currently in world football.

Liverpool: Jurgen Klopp says 'we will attack title, not defend it'

Liverpool will attack rather than defend their title next season, says manager Jurgen Klopp.

The Reds sealed their first Premier League title - and first top-flight success since 1990 - last week with seven games of the season remaining.

Klopp, who joined Liverpool in 2015, said: "We will not defend the title next season; we'll attack the next one.

"I have learned when you think you have reached the pinnacle, you are already on the way down."

Liverpool are 23 points clear of second-placed Manchester City, whom they face at Etihad Stadium at 20:15 BST on Thursday.

"City will be strong next season, [Manchester] United will be strong next season, Chelsea will be strong," Klopp said.

"It's obvious City is an outstanding team, United is in outstanding shape and Chelsea is in a really good shape and doing some interesting business."

City will give Liverpool players a guard of honour before the match.

"I'm not sure if I've ever had one. It's an English tradition so we take it," Klopp said.

"I wouldn't need it, because we go there and we want to win a football game rather than celebrate what happened a week before, but it's a nice gesture."

Klopp this week wrote an open letter to Liverpool fans in an attempt to ensure there is no repeat of the unruly scenes in the city centre that followed their title triumph.

Thousands congregated at the waterfront despite restrictions on gatherings and firefighters extinguished a small fire at the Liver Building.

"It's a difficult time for all of us and I can really understand the emotions are all over the place - and it's not only about the 30 years," Klopp said.

"Most of our supporters did what they should have done and stayed at home. The pictures we saw from the city centre were not what we wanted to see.

"I say that for the first time in my life because usually I love these pictures, but this is not a time for it."

What a brilliant few days its been to be a Liverpool supporter. The long wait has finally ended and we are back where we belong

Man City looking lean and mean at the moment so Liverpool should not expect an easy ride.
