There are reports that Muhammad Abbas might be out for 3 weeks, in that scenario he will be part of South African tour.

However if the injury is more serious and lengthy then will PCB ask Aamir to come back into Test side and partner Shaheen/Hasan Ali to form Pace trio in South Africa.

1) Shaheen
2) Aamir
3) Hasan
4) Yasir Shah

Still not a bad bowling unit for South Afican Test Series.

i dont think they are going to bring amir in for the sake of bringing him in... they are not playing him coz they want him to rectify certain things, and so far (as per MA's recent interview it seems it hasnt happened yet) it doesnt look like he has improved much, and will render it pointless to have him sit out or by bringing him back in early... SSA will be playing in SA... so if they want a third seamer look at junaid or faheem... let Amir work things out, no bandaids plz...

Hasan, Shaheen, Shinwari/Hamza, Yasir, Faheem/Shadab/Hafeez/Bilal

This might be something Inzi/Mickey might go for.

Though I'd personally prefer Sadaf as the 3rd bowling option, a like-for-like change of Abbas

Mickey Arthur's interview happened before the tour of New Zealand, after which Amir has taken multiple fifers and has taken 23 wickets in 4 matches at an average of 12 so he has improved. Mickey wanted wickets and he has given him that, so probably he will be selected for such an important tour.

Amir is our best fast bowler.

That should answer your question.

Amir will be back for SA tour regardless of whatever happens to other bowlers, there is no question about it.

The attack should consist of Shadab, Faheem, Hasan, Shaheen, and Amir if Abbas is injured.

And I think Mickey Arthur will certainly not want to risk his best fast bowler for all the all-important tour of SA in the 3rd Test against NZ.

It is very likely that we might see Shaheen making his debut on Monday. Hopefully, he can get 10 wickets like another rookie did against NZ 33 years ago. :wasim

No not untill he gets his wrist action 100% and swinging the ball like he used to

Mohammed talhah deserves a shout out and Waqas Maqsood

I hope Mohammed Amir doesn’t simply jump straight into selection without giving the best contender a chance too

Though he has not taken wickets we will miss Abbas' miserliness is my feeling, he really kept NZ from running away with the scoreboard. Something Asif does not seem capable of. In fact, he serves what purpose, exactly, apart from reminding everyone of what an awful chief selector Inzi is?

Clearly you can't judge bowlers.

But, I respect your opinion. :najam

What's worse, judging by Amir's international bowling stats, all too many batsmen around the world are also incapable of judging how great he is, failing with annoying regularity to give away their wickets to him.

It is a catch 22 situation for the team think tank. its too early to bring him back and at the same time too late to keep him out if he is in team think tanks plans for the world cup.

If Abbas is ruled out we have to bring back Amir. Afridi Amir Hasan faheem and yasir will probably be our attack. With shadab as a member of the squad too. Our batting will decide the outcome of this series. We will need to combat their potent pace attack and history has taught us that we are useless at doing so.
