We need to define what we mean by domination. Moreover, the premise of XYZ embracing Islam or a natural disaster wiping out non-Muslims shows exactly what is wrong with Muslims today.
When you consider the state of Muslims today and the economic conditions of most Muslim countries, why would the masses want to embrace Islam?
What have the Muslims achieved since the 14th century (when the Islamic Golden Age ended) that would convince countries like USA, China and Russia etc. to adopt Islam at a state level or have the majority of their population converted to Islam?
In the last few centuries, what have Muslims as a community contributed to the world? Absolutely nothing.
Perhaps our most significant contribution has been to make feeble attempts to put down science that does not align with our beliefs. What hope is there for the future when you see so-called educated Muslims flatly denying evolution and being dismissive of outer space research?
If it were left to us Muslims, we would still be living in the 15th century. However, we feel no shame in criticizing the powers who made the world what it is today using their own made technology.
Muslims will never dominate the world if they continue to:
breed like rabbits, obsess with converting everyone to Islam, deny scientific breakthroughs and advancements, cry about Islamophobia, justify their sorry state because of a grand conspiracy and dismiss every atrocity in the non-Muslim word as inside jobs.
Individual people cannot drive change. Your average American with a 38 inch waist and a cheeseburger in his hand has not made America the superpower that it is today - it is the result of the competitive environment that their governments have been able to create and the resources that they have spent on R&D that have allowed people to thrive, and more importantly, they have not allowed religion to hold them back.
Rich Muslims countries with an abundance of resources have the potential to bring revolution in the Muslim world. I am not looking at countries like Pakistan.
We are in the dumps and our PM firing tweets from his office will not change the perception of Muslims in the world.
However, Muslim countries with resources need to catalyze this change. They need to embrace science and stop treating it like some boogeyman.
They need to invest more in R&D and develop a culture where people are not afraid of violating the teachings of Islam by believing in science. This fear of clash between Islam and science is what drives educated Muslims to pull wool over their eyes and deny evolution which is a fact.
We need to stop overemphasizing on life after death because it is very demotivating - when you tell the masses that this world is insignificant and the only thing that matters is preparation for afterlife, you are not providing them with an environment in which they actively work to make the world a better place and are more concerned with what will happen to them when they die.
The harm that Muslims have done to themselves in the last 5-6 centuries cannot be reversed quickly. This will be a long, drawn out process, but if the Muslim world is prepared to look in the mirror and change their ways, the perception of Muslims and Islam will change over the next 200-300 years and perhaps we will be in a position to dominate the world.
But then again, why dominate? What is the urge and the need to dominate? Why can’t we be one of the many religions in the world? Why not hope for a world where there is interfaith harmony and people simply keep their religions to themselves, but ensuring that their different religious beliefs do not clash with their common goal of human advancement, which is not only an ambition but a necessity for human survival.
