Will Pakistan ever get a captain who will dry up the singles?

Sick and Tired of Pakistani captains opting for zero slips and putting fielders on the boundary and infielders deep on the edge of the circle giving 5-6 singles on a platter to the opposition batsmen in the middle overs.

This builds no pressure on the opposition batsmen at all and allows them an easy platform to chase totals and neither does it allow the bowlers to settle and create pressure.

Am getting sick of Babar, it is clear the guy is not cut out for captaincy and is not competent for the job. I would rather give the job to someone more competent and who is more of a natural at the job and Babar should just focus with the bat for Pakistan.

Babar is not a skipper material... period.

He is a great batsman, but not a critical thinker or a strategist....

Shan masood is skipper material, but obv needs to perform and get in team first.... shadab is okaish too but not the best...

Babar has been fantastic in his captaincy recently. Bringing Nawaz for India game, the bowling changes are some of the best examples of his ever improving leadership.

Not choosing a slip was a poor decision but that doesnt call for a blanket knee jerk statement but what all is futile if the said OP has an agenda.

No agenda at all. He's been in charge of the team for 3 years and have not seen much improvement in his captaincy or critical thinking skills. The Karachi Kings debacle confirmed what his captaincy is

Singles weren't the problem today, it was the freebies every over that went for 4.

There was hardly enough runs

But the drying up singles tactic works when you have 3 proper, reliable spinners on a mission to bowl 12 overs for 60-70 runs max with 3-4 wickets. That’s where games are won.

If you havent learnt from indian fans or indian cricket which you happen to admire so much, then i have no hopes from you. Indian cricket is an actual example of how domestic league means utter tosh in international cricket.

And what about barometer you have made such a claim on Babar? What other numerous examples you have to come to this decision? Lol

Habitual problem of Pakistani batsmen in ODIs, T20s against slower deliveries

I have seen that all our batsmen from top to bottom badly struggle against the change of pace from the quick bowlers to medium pacers especially in sub continent wickets.

They struggle to time the shots and at best they only get a single. A lot of times I have seen our batsmen fall into traps set by opposition bowlers and captains by houling out to the fielders on the boundary.

In contrast Hales was picking the gaps in the field and playing ground strokes to these deliveries.

Do our batsmen even practice on their ability to hit these deliveries in the nets? The limited overs game has advanced to unparalleled levels but our batsmen are still stuck in the 90's.
