Will Rumman Raees push Junaid Khan out of the ODI playing XI?

Only in Pakistan would people be bashing the number one ranked allrrounder and calling him complete garbage. I realize he's not the best but the way your talking about him you'd think he's ranked number 1000.

Different format. He is not even in top 15 for all-rounder rankings in ODIs.

His performances this year in ODIs have been terrible.

Easily.

Rumman and Hasan are our future pace leads.

The third place will be up for grabs. Junni is less likely to make it

Even in tour ofNZ it wouldn't be a problem, as u may play 4 seamers.

Amir, Junaid, Rumman and Hassan.

But, by 2018 Asia cup, I can see Rumman in the starting 11 and Junaid warning the bench.

He's not the worst bowler in the world. But he can be easy to milk. He has a role to play but don't want him to be the sole spinner in our team.

You don't need a leggie in England.

Seriously don't understand the hate Imad gets. He is an in-droppale player when playing the likes of Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa and WI. Maybe you can drop him against an Asian side like India but the white folk (and WI) cannot play him.

They expect him to spin the ball but he skids it on, making it extremely difficult to play. He gets the important breakthrough the team needs every now and then and in spite of his casual attitude with regards to fitness, he adds a lot of adrenaline on the field, which we direly need.

Even in the win vs South Africa, he got the all important wicket of AB De Villiers, who averages over 50 against Pakistan.

And on top of that, he's a brilliant batsman and I actually think he should be batting higher up the order considering his ability. And before someone calls Imad a tailender, please read this; http://www.pakpassion.net/ppforum/showthread.php?265760-Imad-Wasim-as-LOI-opener.

Clearly wasn't the case this time around in the CT. And I think you're forgetting that Shadab is easily the best fielder in the team and also adds a lot of depth to the batting, which gives the licence to the top order to play more freely and not succumb to pressure.

Shadab is a must.

Definitely have Shadab in the squad and play him when the pitch and/or opposition demands it but my personal strategy will have Amir and Junaid opening the bowling, Hassan and Rumman being introduced next, thereafter Imad takes over with one of Amir or Hassan bowling from the other end, with Malik and Haris contributing a few overs as well. At the death, Rumman and Junaid will finish their quota. Sub 270 total confirmed.

You don't need an off spinner who doesn't flight the ball.

*left-arm spinner. There is a difference. A defensive spinner, who is ranked #1 in T20s, will compliment our pace attack. If you play Shadab instead, there is every chance that he will not be able to control the run-flow and England, with their batting, will prey on that.

I'm not arguing about his place in the t20 side though.

Also Pakistan are at there best when they are attacking and looking for wickets. Shadab may go for runs but he can pick up wickets. Just like in the CT semi were he dismissed England's best batsmen.

Fair enough. Shadab is a quality bowler, no doubts about that.

Please tell me which part of my post was inaccurate.

The poster I was responding to claimed Imad was the no 1 all-rounder in ODIs. That is completely false. He is not even in the top 15 ARs in ODIs according to the rankings.

As for his performances this year, I have already mentioned in that thread of yours how terribly he has done this year. Feel free to respond to that post.

I appreciate Imad is/was a friend of yours but the bottom line is that whilst he has been effective in T20Is he has been poor/average in ODIs.

Forgot to add, the reality is that Imad's bowling is increasingly being milked as teams work out they don't need to play for spin.

I’d rather we invested in Rumman for the future. He’s a very clever bowler who moves it more than Junaid and has a higher ceiling in my opinion.

A full strength pace attack of Amir, Hasan, Rumman with Junaid on the bench is definitely the best after Australia.

We need stronger batting for Australia. The pitches are only a shadow of what they were. Flat pattas now..
