A lot of the PSL Franchises behind close doors have expressed concerns that the buzz and hype for the coming PSL Season 10 is very low and the Pakistani cricket fans who are upset with the team's poor run of form for the last few years are not really hyped, psyched for the PSL. Even commercial sponsors are not really excited for this upcoming PSL and you can see the lack of hype, promotion on social media platforms and electronic media.

The PCB themselves have not helped matters by mis managing the event i.e. holding the draft so shambolically with so many technical glitches in Lahore, promising to hold the draft in Gwadar and then backing out at the last minute, promising to hold an exhibition match in Peshawar and backing out at the last minute, releasing a shambolic low quality PSL anthem this year, dealing with Ali Tareen's anti PCB and PSL comments.

Last but not the least, the clash with the IPL. This clash required the PCB and the PSL management to be on top of their game but clearly that hasn't happened.

Early days yet because in the past the PSL has picked up eventually during the middle of the tournament and with some nail biting encounters but so far the lack of excitement in this upcoming season is concerning.

Hopefully , the foreign players will light up the PSL. Domestic players look very limited to be honest. :inti

Doubt they'll be many full houses this year especially when they're going to be playing in 40 degrees heat in all venues and to top it off without roof over the seating areas.

PsL trophy was launched in a Ramzan show of not wrong , security situation in country is not ideal so officials will have to be extra vigilant, all the platinum category players are out of form or on a steep decline.
Moreover, Zalmi and Gladiators don't have a home base a decade into league , Surely this is the biggest failure.

Let’s be honest when the national team is losing left, right, and center, it’s tough for anyone to stay positive. The energy’s low, the excitement's gone, and there’s just nothing to look forward to as a fan.

And then you’ve got people like @Bewal Express talking about going head-to-head with the IPL like it’s a great move. He even made a whole thread on it. But realistically, that’s just a terrible idea. It only ends up killing the little hype PSL still has, especially when we’re already struggling to get the spotlight.

If it were up to me, I’d take it back to basics. Do what Sarfraz Ahmed did, use the PSL to actually discover and groom new talent. Rebuild the T20 team from the ground up, and stop holding onto players who aren’t pulling their weight. We need fresh energy, not super star names.

tbf, there’s nothing PCB can do. You either go head 2 head with IPL or you compete with multiple leagues and lose players due to international commitments.

Next year will be the WT20, which will be held in Feb-Mar. We can’t keep moving the PSL dates around.

I might be in the minority but I'm looking forward to the PSL starting. It's a nice distraction from how bad the Pakistan team is and I'm sure the buzz will grow as the tournament progresses.

People need to stop associating the PSL so deeply with the Pakistan cricket team and its performances. The PSL is supposed to be a festival of cricket that should appeal just as much to the average TV viewer, as it does to the hardcore cricket fan. For once, I'd like it if people stopped asking about how this will benefit the Pakistan cricket team and just enjoy this tournament for what it is. Not everything has to be about the Pakistan cricket team. It's amazing that some fans even think that this tournament can just taper over Pakistan cricket's very obvious structural and systemic problems, because it can seemingly help us unearth some great talent. If you think this you need to come back to reality.

PSL should be separate, sadly, it isn't and thats due to very poor marketing and lack of franchise development. Most of the "battles" in the PSL are as a result of players beefs in the national team. Franchises themselves have no identity and the owners have not been able to detangle themselves from the national team.

Things like anthems are just meaningless. Franchises need to build identities around players who will stay with them for years, have actual regional fan engagement and play good quality cricket. Everything else is a gimmick.

As an Indian, lack of loyalty of big players towards a franchise harms fanbase building for teams in PSL. In IPL, biggest Indian players Dhoni, Rohit and Kohli have been with CSK,MI and RCB respectively. This is why RCB has insane fan following despite never winning it. In IPL, most Pak players Babar, Amir etc have played for 2-3 teams so it feels bit weird to invest emotions in the competition when players themselves don't have it for their team

Not supporting till we deport misbah from pakistan cricket
What does Misbah got to do with PSL Franchises and anyone supporting PSL Franchises? Can you please explain the influence of Misbah on 6 separate Franchises and their operations???

To me, this is among the biggest failures of PSL. Ten years on, still no home/away system. And if I am right, two of the franchises have never played at their home town.

Why blame the PCB for this? Everytime we discuss the prospects of playing in Peshawar and Quetta, people here criticize the PCB calling them delusional about the security situation in the country

PLEASE STAY ON TOPIC.... NO PERSONAL REMARKS AND THE THREAD IS NOT ABOUT MISBAH OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL.
