Will the PSL be remembered as a league for TTFs?

Though a country's domestic cricket should be responsible for pumping new, young, upcoming talent into the national side, in the last few years we had to rely on PSL to pump new talent such as Shadab, Faheem, Asif Ali, Fakhar, etc.

But now it seems like each franchise has sworn on not giving youngsters, new faces a chance. Each team is filled with oldies and TTFs like

Kamran
Umar Akmal
Shahzad
Tanvir
Irfan
Afridi
Misbah

Each team MUST give chances to at least 2 new emerging players / new comers if not 3.

It's not their responsibility. Each team is selecting 1 emerging player. If youngsters are good enough they will get selected like Shaheen, Haris, and many others.

Unfortunately, there aren't many good youngsters. I remember PP hyped Talat and Farhan, look how mediocre they have been.

Apart from the IPL, it's not all that different from the other leagues to be honest

Why do people confuse domestic cricket with leagues like the PSL? The PSL is a business and owners invested heavily into the teams to make a profit and win. Their job is not to become supply line for the national team. Some teams are going beyond and finding talented players but it's not their responsibility. If there truly are great young players out there they will get a chance and shine. It's up to them to make the most of it. Guys like Shadab, Shaheen, Fahim, Haris Rauf, Umer Khan, etc have made it count. Other young players like Rizwan Hussain have flopped. You can't blame the leagues. They will play the XI that will give them the best chance to win.

Look at the size and number of domestic players in Pak, WI, BD, AUS and then compare it to India's. There's the answer. The franchises make barely any money and star power is the only way to make some cash through marketing. Also, IPL is not totally different either. One look at the CSk team that won last year and u will see experience matters especially when these players are.performing.

Hey these guys are gonna have to make a living somewhere, at least its here rather than in the Pakistan team.

Let them play, makes getting into PSL more competitive to get it, which can only be a good thing as there aren't as many spots available and the pressure is on to really perform - therefore we see mentally tough and talented people.

it's not like those TTFs are failing again and again for their teams.... they might be TTF at the international level but that doesn't mean they are TTF domestically as well..

No.

It'll be remembered as the league that's been the most beneficial to its country and it's national side, providing it with the best players available.

No other league gives its national team as many players as the PSL does every season.

Hasan, Shadab, Usman, Rumman, Asif Ali, Talat, Shaheen - all have had/will have a very prominent role to play for Pakistan for years to come.

And now we have emerging players from various teams performing well.

Haris Rauf looks set to claim a spot in the national side. Same with Umar Akmal, through performing in the PSL. Faheem and Asif regaining form.

Whether or not a T20 league should be the basis for national selection is a different matter, but this is how it is for us and so far, it's been going quite good.
