Will the T10 league steal PSL's thunder?

Hearing some murmurs that PSL boys not happy with the hype around T10. Looks like what seemed like an interesting idea could become a threat to PSL if implemented well in the UAE in December.

Is that a real concern?

T10 is not really a big threat. PSL's main market is Pakistan. T10 hasn't really marketed its product in Pakistan.

Also, people have moved on from Misbah, Afridi. Now the hype is sarfraz ahmed, shadab khan, Amir, these guys. These guys have also made a good image of themselves with their respective PSL teams.

I dont know about the T10 squads, but even if fans tune it, they will find hard time getting used to which team their favourites are playing for.T10 becomes a threat when it reaches season 3 or 4

its the audience fatigue. If you pack a calendar with too many comps, advertisers + audience start to lose interest.

But this is just a 3 day thing, I think the franchise owners are being too worrisome for something that’s not a big deal

It's similar to Hong Kong Sixes, people won't even know it's happening, those who do, might just ignore it, while some (like me) might look towards watching it if it provides any competitiveness. Although seriously, people like me need cricket to stay alive

PSL is not a UAE based league...it will move to Pakistan soon iA and by 2020 all matches will be staged there.

The revenue will be enormous

So no need to worry about any league based in UAE

To be really frank a league like this not required at the moment. All the nations already have their versions of T20 leagues now we don't want a T10 and T6 leagues etc. These sort of leagues should only have retired or non contracted players playing. Active international players should not play in such leagues. This is just a overkill and a meaningless tournament.

No chance of that happening - T10 is at best a lallu panju league and at worst only a financial windfall for some of the players.

Do not expect anyone to talk it seriously and franky it will be a huge dissappointment for the fans.

Yup, plus a 10 over format would be a mismatch for the grounds of UAE, it should be a bit like stick cricket where you score 110-120 in 10 overs. But it will be more like 80-90 runs being the average score probably.
I reckon they should add some different rule like only 3 bowlers to bowl a maximum quota of 2 so we can get 4 overs by part timers which might feature some big hits, otherwise it doesn't really have the attraction factor atm. or maybe add 8er and 10ers as well
