I keep hearing some posters say that Pakistan is the only team that can challenge India in Asia. And India hasn't lost a home test series for the last 6 years is partially because of the fact that we never played Pakistan.
But after Pakistan's recent performances in UAE do people really think they will challenge India?

If you really need a thread to answer this question then I guess you don't understand the game of cricket.

These blokes couldn't bat against an U 10s side if there was pressure on them.

Who said we will challenge India? Lol

India would bat for days against us. You really think Yasir Shah will be potent against their line up.

Then you have their spin against our mentally fragile batting line up added to the extra pressure of an India/pak game we would collapse worst than today.

Ps: Kholi would not be dismissed in the entire series

If India play with Kohli, Pujara, Ashwin, Jadeja and Bumrah, we might take the games to day four.

Tells you everything about the character of the persons who kick a man when he’s down. Well, Bhaijaan is not one of them. He is brave and handsome.

Pakistan made a mess of this chase. It’s a bizzare and quite dramatic result. They are a much better team than this and without question India’s greatest and perhaps the only challenge in Asia.

Pakistan would get whitewashed. I'm glad we don't play India - it has spared us of such humiliation.

In Asia, even an Indian team without Kohli is enough to beat Pakistan 9 out of 10 times.

But don't worry, there are some fans here who will never let you forget that one match India will lose. :viru

No way. Australia is still the team that can push India the most at home.

Pakistan's extraordinary results against England aside, their test team haven't really delivered anywhere or against any other opponent .

This is not the era to compare Pakistan and India because their simply isn't a comparison.

The gulf in class, ability, development, resources is so big that any comparison just seems foolish from both sides.

Let it go.

4 years ago there was a chance. Now we should think about challenging Bangladesh in Test cricket.

Pakistan's record in England is massively overhyped. The only good tour they had in the last 20 years is the one in 2016. It's been what, 22 years now since they won in England?

PP fans talk about the 2018 tour like it was an Ashes win. A 1-1 scoreline means nothing when you lose a match by an innings.

If WI had played a 2 test series instead of 3 in England, their scoreline would also have read 1-1. That should tell you everything you need to know about Pakistan's standing as a test team.

Extraordinary in comparison to their records against other teams anywhere - SA,OZ, NZ, SL they have all done better when you take both home and away cycles.

A 3-0 whitewash by India at their home(uae) will be doom of cricket in pakistan. Cant imagine the outlash by media, fans and former cricketers.
Pak should consider themselves lucky, they are not playing India.

I think that was when Pak had Younis and Misbah, when most fans were clamouring for a series and saying Pak would have beaten them in Ind.

Don't know whether fans have been saying the same since, so this thread isn't right (unless I'm wrong).

India would whitewash Pak 5-0 in UAE or India. Pujara would take a blindfold and score tons for fun.

India would humiliate us. That's the honest truth. These batsmen don't have the capability of surviving Ashwin and Jadjea. Whilst India can see of our bowling attack.

lol you can judge my character by 1 thread I created on a cricket forum. Hats off man!

This team is a mental midget. They may lose to Zim, if they smell pressure from Dubai, even if they are playing in Abu Dhabi.

They did lose to Zim with Misbah and Younis in the side, but in Zimbabwe.

Still doesn't make it okay.

At some point yes. Not at the moment. We are getting some young players established and this will take time. Every dog has its day and thanks to Indias clever maneuverings over the last decade they have made sure asian domination remains in their ball park. But nothing lasts forever and a time will come when I will post on this forum and we will be celebrating Pakistan wins against india like we did in the early 00's and the 90's and 80's..this is a small bad patch..it is inevitable that we will return to handing them their own behinds in due course...

Can you stop mentioning our lack of experience?

Azhar,Sarfraz ,Hafeez,Shafiq, and Yasir have been playing test cricket for years.

Abbas ,Bilal ,and Haris have enough first class experience as well. Babar and Hasan Ali lack test experience but have been international cricketers for long enough.

The batting line up is average and the captain can't lead through performance are bigger reasoning for our struggles than lack of experience.

Never mind Ind, Pak would struggle to chase 145 against SL AFG Bang in asian conditions.

No way we can compeet them.they are briliant against pin and their bowling is superior.

Yasir Shah will destroy the Indian batting.

Interesting.

You seem to think that Ashwin is worse than Yasir because Indian pitches are dustbowls.

That means that, by default, Indian batsmen are the best players of spin in the world.

So, in Asia, with a bowling line up of Yasir and Bilal Asif, I don't see Pakistan winning more than 1 out of 10 matches against India.

He likes to contradict what he says on a regular basis. Anything to discredit India and their performances.

Don't think so. The Asia Cup answered everything about which side handles pressure better on average and which side has better quality. For Pakistan to beat India, it has to be one of those rare instances where they played out of their skins and where the Indians have a bad day at the office. But on average, Pakistani bowlers are not good enough on flat wickets against the Indian batting line up which always settles everything.

It comes down to Pakistani bowling versus Indian batting because if the former allow the latter to obtain a significant lead, the Pakistani batting cannot cope with pressure.

The current lot is better with reverse swing than with the conventional new ball.

But India will win because Pakistan lack a quality second spinner and top-order batsmen with nerves.
