I've noticed recently that activity on Threads has increased.

Almost every celebrity is using it. Recently threads has been driving more user engagement then X has with the plus point of Threads being completely ad free(as of 2025).

The content is all real posters and real tone celebrity updates. I remember when I first got the app and it was dead on arrival yet 2 years later, it's actually kicking off some steam.

Although imo, I don't think it can topple X. Despite the issues, Twitter/X is a legacy platform and you typically need to create a superior platform to topple giants. Not a copycat which Threads more or less is.

Ps: yes it's a copycat, the real time chat nonsense is a useless feature and people would rather use discord, WhatsApp or Instagram itself lol.

X is now a den of bots, racists, and hate peddler. The most poisonous social media platform since Elon Musk took over. And it has spilled over to other social mediums as well. World will be a better place without such a toxic disgusting individual at the helm.

Twitter/X has declined and is likely to decline further.

Threads should surpass Twitter if it hasn't done already.

Ever since Elon took over, Twitter tanked.

Yeah I think that's why threads is picking up steam.

Alot of people hate zuck but you gotta give him credit for how he's regulated FB, Instagram and any associated app over the years.

The platform ensures that majority of users are real and typically they wont troll with such regulation.

Meta and Tenecent are by far the best at regulation while Google, Elon, Reddit etc etc dont give a damn.

Elon’s love for right wing screwed it more than left ,having said that it is still most free to write a comment , but unmoderated content usually goes to drain like AOL.

Personally i love Reddit.. old forum feel with information on everything.

Twitter is filled with stupid people now. Many are sanghis. :inti

Also, many influential people seemed to have abandoned it.

I blame Elon. He ruined it with childish antics.

I think Reddit and google do a better job, Meta is known to interfere in elections.

I personally visit Reddit a lot. I get crypto and stock news from there.

Haven't tried Threads yet.

I have an account on Twitter but it is abandoned.

X is filled with engagement slop so that people can earn money. Switch off the earnings and it will partly regain its past glory.

Twitter lost more then half its valuation as well.

Twitter was valued at 30B and Musk purchased it for 44B in order to pay the founders and company holders extra.

Now twitter is worth 5.3B lol. Since Musk purchased it, it hasnt made a dine and loat money.

The reason why twitter sold is cause the platform was only breaking even for years, kinda like the Snapchat situation. But they never list money.

Twitter ads was never as robust as meta, Microsoft, tiktok or google ads but people still used it enough for the platform to survive for 15+ years.

Ever since Musk took over he's tried too much.

A) He completly removed content moderation for free speech advocating but it only led to more bots trolls, cyberbullying and virtually zero moderation.

B) He tried introducing a Job feature on X to turn it into a suoer app when linkeldn and Wechat already exist lol.

C) He introduced nonsense communities when Reddit and Facebook already have it and are much better at it.

D) He introduced 3 premium features for the app. But why would anyone pay for premium? Premium does nothing? It doesnt even remobe the ads 🤣🤣, juat shows you less and gives you emotes that no one will ever use?

E) Not to mention firing 70% of the staff and hiring idiots to replace them

Elections are another matter I'm talking about platform.

Google didn't even ban Sniperwolf despite her doxing someone and outright filming a video infront of his house? All they did was demontinise and after one apology tweet, just reinstated the channel in less then a week.

They were outright forced to ban EDP due to state otherwise they didnt care on letting a pedi influence people on the platform.

They still have Amanda's famous suicide video online as it drives engagement despite the video being 12 years old.

YouTube's solution is literally just created a seprate kids app and thats it. Google as a search engine doesnt carw either.

Google literally lets you access search engines that can take you to the dark Web even if itself doesnt allow it, it allows 3rd party. Infact Google allowed Tor to run silkroad for years.

Tenecant is by far the best obviously as they've regulated everyone in China and Australia. (Not sure if wechat is available in other countries, I never heard of anyone using it in UK). They literally ask for your governmental ID's to log in such as passport and real names + pictures.

While it may cause issues to some, the app has no issues whats so ever. To top ot off wechat as an app is now advanced then any app on the planet.

Its basically fb, Snapchat, Instagram, Doordash, Amazon, tiktok, reddit, Discord, WhatsApp, steam, playstore and many more all combined into one, but its user base is low due to China being China and wanting to keep it exclusive to onpt a few countries (plus the logisitcs of ecom and food delivery being difficult to establish worldwide).

Meta is the 2nd best though. Their not perfect and have lots of trolls, bullying, hate pages bit they still do a better job then reddit at moderation and other platforms. Reddit is still better then fb pages and community as a feature though

X was always like that even during the twitter days but they never lost money until Elon came along.

To go from a 30B valuation to 5.3 in a span of a few years is insane and hardly ever happens. At this rate X is going down the hill of Yahoo or MySpace.

The issue is Elon removing all forms of moderation due to his free speech nonsense while Threads regulates like like all meta apps do.

No one wants to go to a platform filled with bots, trolls, harassment especially since most people on twitter are using their real names to build their brand.

Elon ran Twitter like a 2-year child. Big blunder.

Anyway, I think it is the point of no return. I don't see Twitter recovering. Too many options now.

Reddit is filled with racism too now. Everything has spilled over in the last few years.

Reddit is useful. There are some good subs --> intermittent fasting, cryptos, stocks etc.

I think Reddit is good but not sure if it will stay the same as more options pop up.

Its not just regulation but Elon is actively using twitter to drive narratives. Do you notice him taking jibes at UK Pakistanis here and there to basically destabilise and topple the government by flaring a particular agenda. Most of his platform is filled with bots which generates fake engagements. Even the racism against Indians was started inorganically until it has turned organic now which is sad to see. I have spoken to so many normal people irl who claim they have seen such content and its polluting everyones mind.

Just letting you know, Elon was never a good business man. Everyone knows that unlike Zuck, Gates, Bezos etc etc he's just extremely lucky and was rich.

Elon is only good at lying, speaking credit and creating a cult that it

As a kid his brother did all the work and sold it. Musk's coding skills were so bad that Peter theil laughed at it during PayPal. The paypal mafia job was via connections thats to his parents.

Afterwards he juat got extremely lucky. When he got his paycheck, 2 founders that were starting a car company called tesla needed an investment and Musk was the only investor will to outright buy the company and invest all 28M into it.

Even then he was fired as ceo multiple times by the board before returning only after Tesla was well settled. Same is the case with space X and twitter.

Musk is the prime example why The myth of hard work is false.

Hard work is important but it cannot beat luck + connections + timing.

That's also why indians immigrate so much. No matter how skilled cant do much in india. Only aus, Canada, USA, UK etc etc will give you that push.

Musk created bots to ensure he remains the most followed and engaged user.

Yes. When Elok speaks, it becomes evident that he is full of $hit.

When someone like Warren Buffet speaks, I listen attentively and I can tell this guy knows a lot.

Elon is just a flashy showman. Maximum hype, minimum substance.

One thing I've never understood is why people hate Zuckerberg so much? The social network was based of a book literally written by Edvardo and a phoenix club member 🤣🤣. Ofcourse the movie would be biased.

The real truth is that while Zuckerberg was a skilled coder that knew how to code the 1st version of FB. The twins never got into any formal contract with him. They wanted him to make the site and do all the work and be on his way. Why should he do that? Why would anyone do that? Lol.

Secondly Zuck didn't mislead the twins. He actually built FB over the weekend and launched it. They hardly had time to exchange anything like the movie portrayed.

Lastly Sean Parker is not a pedo in real life lol, Sean and Edwardo had no fights irl. And Edwardo never got his share diluted to 0.03%. What actually happened is that Edvardo was a terrible CFO..

He gave 1000 dollars total and then 19,000 when FB no longer needed his money. He didnt expand the site, Dustin did that, he froze the account due to ego of zuck refusing to make him ceo, he failed to get any investor to invest despite Sean stating that advertisers weren't needed at that stage, investment was.

Zuck basically just kicked him out by purchasing FB domain and renaming thefacebook to Facebook. Since FB was a new company not thefacebook he could kick edvardo out as edvardo owned 30% of thefacebook but nothing from fb and I agree with the decison as edvardo didnt even go with the team to silicon valley.

After that he never did anything bad per say. Most of the bad stuff at Meta weren't related to him. He's ceo, but meta is a large corporation. Things like data leaks, controversy aren't always in his control. Only the direction if the company is he took meta from a 500,000 valuation to a 1.8T one.

Elon is way worse then Zuck lol, and edvardo got so lucky. Worth 40B despite doing nothing 😭😭😭😭😭😭.

Depends upon the threads, extremely useful with jobs/certifications/industry reviews etc.

I do find it to be the sanest.

It’s obviously by design, he uses it as a personal toy. He’s a white South African who grew up there, his view of the world is skewed. He clearly influenced the American election, he’s also contributing to Reforms efforts in the UK.

Indians and Elon ruined X

He isn’t that inefficient, yes he has lot of issues but he is entrepreneurial, getting a car company change literally the end to end supply chain was massive esp in US ,insane same with rocket and batteries.

He did this with various companies, his understanding of technology(for CEO) is at best second to Sam Altman/Jensen Huang..

The issue with him is , he is the most selfish/selfish centered/ self absorbed individual on the planet.
Bill Gates in 80s ,90s was equally that annoying.

Most people in Elon's situation would be able to achieve what he did with the exact same circumstances given.

But most people in let's say Jeff Bezos situation would fail.

Let's say you were bezos, you discovered the trend of selling on the Internet increasing by 236% from 1993 to 1994, and you had rich parents willing to invest 300,000 and then another 250,000 into starting an Ecom store?

I guarantee you'd fail. Amazon struggled immensely during its early years. The truth is it came out way way too early and thw world wasnt ready for it.

By 1996 most would have closed shop, it was clear amazon, was failing big time in its first 2 years. Too many costs for buying books from manufacturers. Not enough demand for books, Trend at the time is still to go to barnes and nobles and read in person. Total reliance on Fedex for shipping at the time as Amazon had no logistics of their own.

Bezos had to play a very long and uncertain waiting game until the Internet finally caught up with the concept of being online and buying things online.

In comparison Elon Musk had financial backings, mentorship from PayPal mafia via connections and a very very lucky break from founders. Lots of people under the same circumstances would have learned the same things and taken the same action.

He doesn’t come across as someone savvy, or intelligent, or eloquent. He seems like an idiot, always got the sense that he’s been lucky.

Not only that but hes also a disgusting man with a lot of insecurities. An incel with money. Even tho Bezos is an evil boss with how he treats his employees and Amazon’s shady practises, i still feel like he is better than Musk.

Accurate

Unfortunately true and he wouldn’t mind sacrificing half the humans on planet to achieve his goals.

This is why I have realised the importance of sociology/arts and science folks that are needed, I remember believing in survival of fittest when I landed in America, very cruel way of seeing things I think now.

Bezos is super hard working though. People dont realise that he had the hardest path amoung the big 5(meta, Google, apple, Amazon, Microsoft).

He's the definition of why money alone wont save you. 99% of people would have closed Amazon by 1996-1997.

The truth was Amazon came out too early. World had not switched to buying things from the Internet at that point in time especially books lol.

Musk on the other hand, 99% of people in his exact same circumstances would have failed.

Similarly 99% of people in Steve jobs scenario would have failed.

Zuckerberg is interesting as its 50-50. But in his case im pretty sure people would have turned fb into MySpace around 750 valuation. Taking it to 1.8T? Probably not.

But in Musk case tesla was a sure fire bet.

Most employees will prefer to work in an Elon started company than Bezos.

There is a saying in tech - Amazon hires to fire , it’s also the worst process I have ever encountered for senior roles, excruciating 7-10 rounds within 2 days.

Google and Meta are obviously better than both for tech, but the application of one’s knowledge is maximum under Elon started companies even for just senior architect roles.

I remember how i landed a role at Amazon only to get rejected at a supposed “coffee chat”. An insane story.

Elon is good at taking bets and has the quality of right place right time. Lucky guy.
