It may be tough to blame Imran for all the evil that exists in Pakistan society but the fact is that its with him that the buck stops.

if its not a story of a murder, then its something like the lawyer's action which resulted in deaths of 3 patients - all need stern actions by his management team.

So will we see a marked change in the situation during his time?

Really a question for PTI Supporters to explain.

Imran and his government of opportunist jokers thrive on anarchy.

When your PM routinely uses profane language and talked about using force when was in the opposition and people like Sheikh Rasheed, the incumbent Railway Minister, proudly claims that he “will burn the parliament down” if his leader doesn’t get his way, what do you expect from the public?

Then you have fake degree holders like Murad Saeed, who is a federal minister even though couldn’t even complete a degree in Environmental Sciences, resort to physicality in political discourse.

Our society has become extremely intolerant and aggressive. The aggression has aggravated because of the rise of cult mentality in politics in addition to the religious extremism that has been fueled by military dictators to consolidate their power.

Imran and PTI themselves are greatly responsible for the development of cult mentality and polarizing the society with slow poising and constant injections of hatred and violence. Ultimately, cult mentality leads to mob mentality.

The actions of the lawyers are most despicable but we need to understand that they are not alone here. They have been infected with a virus that is prevalent throughout our society.

Two days ago, an assistant commissioner in Attock had to face the wrath of a bunch of radical youth from a local religious school when she emphasized on giving rights to Ahmadis during a speech.

She had to clarify her statement and forcefully backtrack to avoid any further implications. If it was a man, he would have been lynched by now.

Furthermore, to uphold law and order, you need proper, functional accountability. Imran’s reflex reaction - triggered by his obsession - was to blame PMLN for this attack.

It is ridiculous but knowing Imran, perhaps not. This is what we can expect from an individual like him. Not to mention the fact that his own nephew was part of the mob.

So if his own family members are on PMLN payroll, what kind of a leader is he?

Apparently the police is willing to arrest him but “he wasn’t home”. It appears that the newly professionalized police force of Punjab under the watchful eye of Buzdar were expecting him to welcome them with a red carpet and hand himself over to be arrested.

Government has changed but it's still old police, old society and their old corrupt ways.

Can it get worse than past convicted thieves' tenure? Hell nah.

In Sha Allah it will improve, slowly but steadily.

It was great in the old days, when innocent people got murdered by SS and Rana the Qatil in broad daylight and some idiot thinks that SS is the guy to put PK on the right track. Which idiot thinks that SS is the man to put PK on the right track?

Who administers the police in those areas where Lawyers got the patients killed?

The Police are under the control of the IG and he comes under the Punjab Govt. The Police in Punjab are criminals appointed by SS and I guarantee it will make no difference if all of them are sacked tomorrow. They are the criminals and the problem created by the criminal Nooras has to be sorted by IK. It has taken too long to get rid of the crap left by the Nooras.

But he selected someone to be Punjab CM who was part of PML before plus If PTI is in ruling there is absolutely no way that IK cannot be blamed because i googled and it says the govn has been in power for more than year!

Blamed in what sense? Idiotic Young Doctors goading violent, Thuggish lawyers over some argument, which leads to out of hand violence from the lawyers and IK is to blame? I have heard it all. If you blame him for the lack of Police reforms then I think you have a point. But the irony is when Nooras blame IK for the lack of Police reforms as it is they that created the mess by hiring cowardly thugs into the police force to act as their henchman . By some estimates there upto 25000 uneducated criminals in the Punjab Police hired by SS

Man I sure wish the time of Nawaz Sharif and Asif Zardari when rivers of milk and honey were flowing and Pakistan was a peaceful, space faring nation. There was complete harmony and rule of law. If somebody committed a crime, they will themselves go to police station and ask the police to arrest them.

No politician will bring police reforms, I expected Kiran Bedi who was an police officer if she couldn’t then no one will in South Asia.

Why would any politician bring Police reform when in power, when they control everything?

PTI did bring police reforms in KPK during their rule from 2013-2018 and there was marked improvement in policing.

They are also in power in Punjab since 2018 but they are struggling big time to make any changes and they are at their fourth IG now in just 15 months!

The Punjab Police is so notoriously bad the best bet is to fire every single officer and start from scratch. The guy who revolutionized KPK police was appointed as IG Punjab as soon as PTI formed government and within a couple of months he gave up and resigned. Imagine that.......

It depends on what you want from the Police, if the Police are your henchmen then you are right but if you want the Police to protect the public then you have nothing to worry about.

“How dare you attack a hospital?” Justice Anwarul Haq asked the arrested lawyers

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday heard the PIC riot lawsuit, and termed the unfortunate attack on the hospital by lawyers as a culture of the jungle.

A two-member bench headed by Justice Ali Baqir Najafi heard four petitions seeking release of arrested lawyers involved in the attack on Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) on Dec 11.

Advocate Azam Nazir Tarar presented his arguments stating that police have no authority to torture anyone, and it is not like they have come to fight a war against India.

Justice Ali Baqir Najaf expressed anger and asserted that the defendants surely have come to fight a war. “How dare you attack a hospital?” Justice Anwarul Haq asked the arrested lawyers to justify their actions, and added what if bar council was in the place of PIC, what steps must have been taken for them?

Responding to this, advocate Tarar stated: “We have condemned the incident on TV programs”. To which LHC’s judge said if advocate Tarar really considers it an incident. “You have no idea from what we all are suffering after hearing about this act,” he added.

Advocate Tarar continued saying that they do not have a bar leader who could have explained the incident. He also said that licenses of involved lawyers will be suspended.

Justiec Najafi remarked that the bar council have black sheep in their flock. “The law of the jungle does not civilize a society, and what you have done is a culture of the jungle,” he said, adding that they will give a justifying verdict as they have taken the oath to protect the law.

The court sought a report from the CCPO on the arrest of the lawyers and ordered them to implement the decision regarding medical examination of the accused. The hearing was adjourned till Dec 16.

On Dec 11, a violent clash that erupted between hundreds of lawyers and doctors left three patients dead when the charged lawyers stormed into the Punjab Institute of Cardiology and broke windows of the emergency ward and several vehicles parked nearby.

Lawyers went “out of control” while holding batons and sticks and broke the emergency gate of the PIC.

Provincial Information and Culture Minister Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chohan was also beaten by lawyers when he tried to persuade them from “taking the law into their own hands.”

An anti-terrorism court (ATC) Thursday sent eight arrested lawyers – who had yesterday stormed into the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) amid protest that turned violent – to jail on judicial remand for 14 days.

ATC Judge Abdul Qayyum Khan presided over the PIC riot case where scores of arrested lawyers were produced before the court amid tight security measures with their face covered.

The government lawyer requested 15-day physical remand of the accused, while the lawyers’ attorney opposed the physical remand and said that the lawyers are innocent and were arrested by the police.

The defendants’ lawyer claimed that the police tortured the accused and requested for a medical examination. The court sent eight lawyers to jail on judicial remand while rest of the 38 were asked to give up their identity and present before the court again on Dec 17.

Meanwhile, detained lawyers, including advocate Tayyab Rasool, Ali Raza and Umar Ghafoor, filed bail pleas in the court.

On Dec 11, Punjab Home Department has approved the deployment of Rangers at key locations of the province to maintain the law and order situation of Lahore.

According to a private television channel report, a notification has been issued by the Ministry of Interior to maintain the law and order in Punjab. The notification stated that the Rangers troops have been deployed with immediate effect till request of de-requisition.

They have been deployed at Governor House, G.O.R I and II (both side), Punjab Assembly, GPO Chowk at Mall Road and Punjab’s Civil Secretariat. It further read that troops have also been posted at Aiwan-e-Addal, Supreme Court of Pakistan (Lahore Registry), Lahore High Court, office of PPO/IGP, and Punjab Institute of Cardiology and other companies for backup.

Rangers have also been posted at the Punjab Institute of Cardiology in the wake of the attack. Rangers personnel have taken charge of the PIC, and started performing their duties outside the hospital building.—NNI

While people are right to condemn the lawyers who actions cannot be justified, it is ultimately the failure of the government.

Sher Shah Suri or his Interior Minister should have resigned, or at least the Khalifa-e-Waqt should have asked them to.

Self awareness would really help some on this forum don't you think!

I can remember some idiot supportering some fake Mullah and hoping that he overthrow an elected govt and today moaning about the rise of religious extremists( lol) , I think there are idiots on the forum that support dynastic families that were entirely nurtured by dictators like Ayub and Zia and today they moan about the military.

As long as Hassan niazi is still happily walking the streets then nothing will change. He needs to set an example of his own before others. Tbh it's just been a year and a half of Kashmir Kashmir Kashmir. Hardly anything else of note

So many people in Pakistan, why dont they just execute more criminals.
All muderers, rapist, terrorists and people in public office abusing their position or involved in corruption - hang them!
The country will be crime ridden in 3 years!
We cant do it in the uk because of human rights activists, but you people dont have that problem because no one in Pakistan cares about human rights!

Well i have sorted that problem out , any other problems?

Agreed that he should face the full wrath of the law but its Nooras have forgotten the bigger attack and just focused on him. You do know that his father is the ugly mutt of Geo that hates IK and is part of the PML.

Yes but they rather say that he is Imran Khan's nephew :) Just like Imran Khans sisters, when they are married to PMLN members :) They are called noony toons for a reason.

So saving the economy from imminent default and bankruptcy is hardly anything else?

Stick to the topic of law and order please.

Yes! But you, I and most of us know it won’t be over night, it’ll take years.

So because of his father at Geo that's why police is not catching him?

Law and order or anything else..everything start from your own home/ party.

Once police arrest his nephew and punish him then things will start to change. When he will start doing accountability of his own party members then things will change.

In sha Allah that person will come to power one day who will start everything from himself then we will see the change. Change will never come when you punish others and but not own people.

The Punjab Police will always try to cause IK maximum embarrassment( making it look like IK is some how protecting him) because they are still run by goons hired by Nooras. That's why I would disband this mafia and start again. But the fact is that he will be caught after the damage is done. What is obvious from this episode is that we have a series of mafias in PK and they are all in cahoots against a poor country.

As far his party is concerned, its never been in power. Can you please examples as to which cases you are on about.

I am not even sure why this would happene? when you are fully in power in punjab, he has his own IG, SSP..If it is police causing the problem then if i were him i would change all of them.

It will happen but the damage is done. The Police are a mafia just like the Lawyers, land Business etc and they are not mutually exclusive.

but why can not he replace them. I know damage is done. But that does not it will not happen again. God forbid, worse will happen now if punjab government does not take action.
They should punish everyone who is involve in it. They should make make sign for people by hanging them.
How come this mafia is stronger than government in power?

When they replaced the around 40 of these crooks the LHC immediately reinstated all of them. There isn't a week gone since IK has been power that a crisis hasn't been created by one group or another. Doesn't that make you slightly suspicious?

Shoaib Dastgir removed as Punjab IG following reports of refusal to work with new Lahore CCPO

The Punjab government on Tuesday removed Inspector General of Police Shoaib Dastgir.

A notification issued by the Cabinet Division said that the official, who is a **-22 office of the Police Service of Pakistan, has been transferred and posted as the secretary of the Narcotics Control Division with immediate effect.

A separate notification added that Inam Ghani, a **-21 officer of the Police Service of Pakistan, has been made the new provincial police officer.

On Monday, Dastgir had refused to work under the PTI government over the recent appointment of Umar Sheikh as the Lahore capital city police officer (CCPO) without his consultation, and had asked the chief minister to transfer him to a “suitable location”.

Another reason said to have prompted the IG to take the step were some comments the CCPO had allegedly passed while talking to a few police officers on his first day at the office, which was less than a week ago.

An official privy to the development had told Dawn that Dastgir had met Chief Minister Usman Buzdar on Monday and requested him for a “transfer to any other suitable place”, saying he would not continue as the provincial police chief until the removal of the CCPO.

He was also said to have skipped office on Monday and met with the chief minister in plain clothes, giving the Punjab government the message that he would not accept Sheikh as the CCPO at any cost.

The official source had said that the CCPO’s comments said to have irked the IG were regarding the latter’s impending retirement.

Dastgir had visited Islamabad on Friday and complained to Prime Minister Imran Khan seeking the CCPO’s transfer, which was turned down.

On his return to Lahore, the IG had refused to work till the CCPO was transferred. Consequently, all scheduled meetings at the IG office were postponed and Dastgir met the CM on Monday where he had refused to continue on with the post.

Sources had said Buzdar had recommended Sheikh’s name to the prime minister for the CCPO slot. After a 45-minute interview, a federal government team sent by the PM had okayed Sheikh’s name, and the PM accorded his final approval during his visit to Lahore on Sept 3.

The IG was allegedly not taken on board during the entire process.

:)))

It didn’t take long to go from “I want to congratulate” to “it is time to go”.

The circus continues.

This joker government has gone through 6 IGs in the space of two years. They have no vision, no consistency.

How can one expect improvement in law & order with such erratic and haphazard decision-making.

While people do bhangra over Buzdar’s performance, Buzdar sahab is yet to decide on who should be leading Punjab police.

6 IGs in two years. 6.

A complete circus show.

While I was a fan of Shoaib Dastagir he was hesitant in pursuing the case against Maryam Nawaz for NAB attack case and that is why he was fired. No comprising on principles no matter how good you are at the job.

In case it is lost on you, in a high performance environment people are let go ruthlessly for not doing their job or not delivering. If the IG's are hessitant to act the opposition goons out of fear of retribution, then they will be let go

What “high performance” environment? Take a look at the caliber of people holding ministries. Do people like Zartaj Gul, Mazari, Murad Saeed, Sheikh Rasheed, Fawad Ch., Firdous Awan etc. represent “high performance”?

The problem here is that PTI government wants to control bureaucracy and wants them to serve their propaganda.

Bureaucrats are not puppets. They are people of much higher caliber and intellect than these dumb politicians whose sole achievement is to worship Imran Khan.

Bureaucrats will act independently. That is unacceptable to PTI government which runs on cult-following.

Bureaucrats are corrupt and are the puppets of the corrupt. They should have been sacked on mass and rehired to serve the people. The PK bureaucrats can't be reformed, their too many that are compromised and just like the Punjab Police, sack and restart.

The fact that this IG took no action against a violent assault should have meant an immediate sacking. If he can't take action against an assault in broad daylight, then when will he do it. As I said before the Punjab police can't be reformed, its do deeply entrenched in institutionalised lawlessness and corruption that only radical action can make a difference.

All these corrupt Police officers are intimidated by a corrupt Sharif family. This was an attack in Broad daylight and he was an accomplice with his weak FIRS. This guy so through him a few weeks back and he was right

I know where you're coming from and you're right people at the very top have no "job security" especially in government position because every new leader needs people who he trusts (and that's fair game happens everywhere and should be encouraged)

But 6 different IG's in 1.5 years c'mon thats too much

Either you're not doing your homework on the guys you're appointing or you are WAY too impatient with them!!

The pool of talent and honest officers to choose from is too small and they are still searching.

It's not just honesty, it's also bravery. Most honest people will not risk their lives and those of their families against this mafia

I agree, the mafia is too strong and it needs virtually a death squad to eliminate them because the Judiciary is also corrupt and weak.

Sell this hogwash to someone who would buy.

Apparently any bureaucrat who refuses to succumb to PTI’s propaganda is corrupt.

As I said, PTI wants the entire bureaucracy to be cult-followers but that is not going to happen.

This was bound to happen when Imran failed to establish and maintain any standards when it comes to giving party tickets and handing out ministries.

The bureaucracy will not allow a bunch of street urchins to dictate them.

The “mafia” financed Imran’s election campaign and most of these “mafia” leaders are close friends of our savior.

All these corrupt Police officers are intimidated by a corrupt Sharif family. This was an attack in Broad daylight and he was an accomplice with his weak FIRS. This guy so through him a few weeks back and he was right

Bewal bhai really recommend watching CCPO Lahore interview with Rauf Klasra today on Public TV.

Not surprised that PM sided with CCPO and fired his own choice of IG. What's surprising is that all of the top cadre of the Punjab police is against this CCPO because he is putting hand on PML-N goons. Man Punjab police really is gullu butts in uniform.

Situation is same with Sindh police and PPP. KPK was saved from this because every time they voted for someone new so nobody had enough time in office to induct their gundhays in the police force, that is why PTI managed to clean up the police in KPK in quick time. No doubt they have their work cut out in Punjab, and I feel it will be one of the biggest failures of PTI come 2023.

I have hopes with this CCPO but doesn't take a lot for the police to permanently silence one of their own who doesn't tow the line. Has happened before as well.

So asking the Bureaucrats to serve the public and not the mafia is hogwash. Is asking the bureaucrats to be honest is hogwash and PTI propaganda. As everyone knows on here, everything you ever support is corrupt and it's not a surprise that you are so desperate to are against any accountability of these crooks, maybe some close to you might have done bird if there was accountability of these crooks. There isn't a single thing you have ever been right on, your starting point is to support of murderers and looters against the weak in society and that's why you get humiliated by me on every single topic you ever post on.

IK hasn't spared anyone, look at the SHC and its pathetic attempts to stop the enquiries. If they were hoping for favours from Kaptaan, they are sadly mistaken.

Doesn’t spare anymore? He went mute on Asim Bajwa initially, and then made pathetic attempts to sweep it under the carpet.

Kaptaan’s favors are only for the military establishment, because he knows that if he takes them on, he will be sent packing.

PTI doesn’t care about serving the public because they are not interested in serving the public.

It is a disjointed party with a delusional, fake messiah at the top and a bunch of turncoat, opportunist politicians at the bottom who have jumped on the tabdeeli bandwagon for their own political interests.

I repeat - bureaucrats are not puppets. They will not take dictations from cheap, gutter-mouth politicians with no caliber.

PTI can run through hundreds of bureaucrats and they will continue to have issues. The only permanent solution is to sack the entire bureaucracy and replace them with those Tiger Force losers.

Once again a desperate rant from some loser that supports murderers and looters. As i said earlier, you have never been right on anything because of your badniyaati and thats why the daily humiliation. Stick to the mafia

Bajwa is innocent, i dare you to file a case. What are you waiting for? More information from RAW?

A separate notification added that Inam Ghani, a **-21 officer of the Police Service of Pakistan, has been made the new provincial police officer.

‘I am a prime minister, not a king’: PM Imran Khan vows to facilitate Islamabad police

ISLAMABAD: The government wants to provide the Islamabad police health cards and affordable housing, Prime Minister Imran Khan said Wednesday, announcing the provision of both to facilitate the law enforcers of the federal capital city.

Addressing a passing parade at the Police Line Headquarters in Islamabad, the premier paid tribute to officials and said that no nation can prosper without proper law and order situations and that the lives and property of the nation should be protected at all costs.

“The army is the protector of borders and the police are the protector of common citizens,” he said, stressing the government will do its best to increase the salaries of the Islamabad police.

“I am a prime minister and not a king. Therefore, I will make the decisions with the consultation of my finance minister Hafeez Shiekh,” the prime minister said.

He lamented law enforcers were not given due respect because of Pakistan's history under British rule “I want the nation to respect and like police officials. I want to see ‘Nayi police in Naya Pakistan’. I want you to make the common citizens the VIPs of the country.” he stressed.

Touching upon the changes brought to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police during the ruling tenure of the PTI-government, the premier said the position of police officers miserable when PTI formed its government in the province. “But, later came a time when the public took out processions in support of police and I was proud to see such a drastic change,” he added.

Agreeing that the salaries of Islamabad police officials is not enough and the salaried class of the country usually struggles to make ends meet, PM Khan said honesty and sincerity are the most important traits of nations that prosper despite hurdles and unfavourable circumstances.

“We will consider raising the salaries of the Islamabad police but I have to consult my ministries to take the final decision,” he added.

Earlier in the day, PM Imran reached the Police Lines Headquarters in Islamabad. He is the first prime minister to attend an event by the police - the second line of defense in Pakistan after the army.

The premier attended the passing out ceremony of 1,200 policemen.

Newly-appointed Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid and the Islamabad Inspector-General Islamabad also attended.
