I honestly think losing the series can be the best thing happening to Indian cricket. Kohli and Shastri might be forced to make necessary changes and get rid of the deadwood. A series win may keep the same players which will eventually hurt India on a bigger stage.

Nothing will happen unless kohli wants to change .he is too powerful for the selectors and coach

Indian management is reactive but I doubt any big changes will be made. People talk about India possibly dominating, the Ozzies of '00s dropped Gillespie right after he won a Man of the Series for his bowling and also made a double century. They had foresight that Gillespie was getting old and the team needed fresh blood injected.

Our management keeps playing Dhoni, who should have retired in 2011.

Oh, by the way..we are not winning this.

100% agree.

Thank you for this thread.

I agree with the OP.Losing this game(and the series) could force a couple of necessary changes in the Indian side.

If Selectors have any brain cells left, they will kick out the likes of Pandey, Jadhav, Dhoni, Thakur, Axar etc Permanently.

The likes of Shaw/Gill/Pant/(Young Pacer with pace and skills) need to be tried out in the next 6 months.

Shaw was Brilliant for India A. Gill played very well in the limited chances he got. Pant may have struggled, but he is the future; Let him fail a few matches before completely writing him off. You need a slogger who can win matches by himself down the order.

Nothing wrong in trying out Ishan Kishan either if Pant fails.

Siraj seems to have improved. Avesh Khan cannot be worse than Thakur. Mavi and Nagarkoti have pace and they can surely improve if given chances.

Agree.

I hope this lose will come as blessing in disguise.

India needs to revamp it's middle order for sometime now, Need to get rid of CSk trio who played today replaced with in form young / old guys.

KL Rahul must play all formats.

DK comes in for MSD.

Fingers crossed. This should be the end for Kathik, Raina, and Jhadav. Dhoni will play the next WC, I do not see him going anywhere unless he himself takes the decision.

Hopefully we’ll get rid off this deadwood like dhoni, raina and try pant & gill...wc19 is still looong way to goo and we got ample time to test these newbies

If Dhoni is playing after this, chopping Raina or Kartik will not help.

Dhoni is the culprit for Indian middle order woes. He puts so much pressure on the likes of Raian or Kartik or anyone you put with him by playing too slow. All the dots he plays adds to the pressure on the other batsmen who themselves are trying to find a place in the squad.

If you do not kick out the big elephant in the room, India will not be a threat in the WC 2019.

Make Rahul secure in his spot/give him chances, bring in Pant/Kishan for Dhoni, replace Bhuvi (Shami/Bhumra being the front-line bowlers) with a fast-bowling all-rounder to have a better balance/shield the tail/hit strongly down the order, someone à la Ashish Reddy, fast-track young promising pacers like Nagarkoti/Ahmed/Saini.

Don't know who Zeeshan Ansari is.
Sarfaraz Khan needs to lose weight before he can think of playing at highest level. He looks like a baby elephant.
Avesh Khan has pace. Can bowl jaffas combines with some rubbish.
Khaleel Ahmad seems to have done well with India A.
Armaan Jaffar seems to be Test match material.

Ansari is a promising 18 years old leggie from UP, who can also hit valuable runs down the order (as he did during his U19 stints).

Sir jee when was the last time 19-20 year olds debuted for India? We can all become Moongeri Laal but we won't be able to see these haseen sapnay. Nothing will happen. Guys like Jadhav and Pandey will be back in the team.

That era is gone where youngsters like Kaif, Yuvi, Irfan made their debuts before they turned 20.

Babu Jee, when the current stock of bowlers are not even fit to play club level teams, you have to give talented youngsters who are eager to perform a chance.

India could try Krunal Pandya or Nitish Rana as spin bowling allrounders. Chahal is decent and a slight upgrade over Jaddu in bowling, but his batting and fielding are appalling.

These days you cannot be a one trick pony unless you are a McGrath or Warne or Wasim Akram level Bowler.

They will get their chances once they are post graduated from IPL. Have some patience. Guys like Nagarkotti or Mavi will have to wait for few years. This is how it is now and you have to accept it.

They have lost the series. Only time will tell if OP gets his wish.

I don't think MS Dhoni will be dropped before the 2019 WC
