The news seems to indicate that COVID-19 infections are on the rise in Pakistan.

We have reports of 1 Pakistan person from a PSL side being in isolation already - and there could be more.

Also I am not hearing much about bio-secure bubbles arrangements for PSL which is a little worrisome as seems the attitude not the same as that for international games.

So the question is - it having PSL games now a wise move?

Life must go on - actually world got in to a panic state and overreacted at the start of Covit. Not sure it was even a good idea to stop it at first place, but I understand the logic that time, not any more.

When Canada went to hardcore lock down in April, daily new infection rate was around 450 in Ontario & may be 600+ in Canada .... and we went to panic state - closing schools, business, offices, shopping malls, bars .... even parks. Ontario 401 is busiest highway in world and at between intersections ON 404 to ON 427, daily average traffic was above 500K ..... it came down to less than 50K.

Now that infection rate is 1000+/day only in Ontario and life is absolutely normal- people had Barbecue whole summer, malls are over flowing, it takes over an hour sometimes to cross that section of ON 401 and in London UK it’s even more khullam khulla- at least in Toronto majority people are using masks.......

Life goes on - sports is just part of the life. Take adequate precautions, practice social distancing and maintain personal hygiene- still there will be some cases.....

It's only a few games over the weekend kind of setup so not a risk. Should move forward and put this to bed.

Agree, life must go on, theres other games carrying on around the world under strict conditions

Theres no reason why the psl cant finish off its games

This from PCB release today:

An individual has been shifted to an isolation room within the team hotel after his Covid-19 test returned positive.

He had returned home after the second round of the first-class Quaid-e-Azam Trophy on 3 November. As per the PCB Covid-19 Protocols, he should have traveled to Karachi only after receiving a negative result from the home test. However, upon arrival in Karachi, the PCB Medical and Sports Sciences received the positive result, following which he was quarantined immediately.

The individual will now stay in isolation until he returns two negative tests.

The traffic in missisauga seems much else than usual. I think there is still much less crowding in places like malls. (Thank God, I hate crowds)

Yes, life can go on but we should still be careful. Restrictions on amount of people in places still be there. Especially places like universities should not be open right now.

As for sports, yes it can go on but there should be no spectators allowed.

Covid19 is not going anywhere anytime soon. We have to try our best to adapt to the situation.

Businesses can no longer stay shut down for corona virus, which is not even that deadly. Protection from the virus is in you own hands, if you're so scared, bunker up and never leave your house.

Sportspeople are not usually from the high risk category, they are also expected to be fitter and healthier than most other people. Plus even though the cases are increasing world-wide, death rate has fallen dramatically due to better covid management know-how. In this scenario, it should be BAU in any sport if they are in a bio-bubble.

The fact that a player has tested positive and is in isolation shows that the system is working.

Players fall within a low catagory of risk and infection rates remain managable in Pakistan.

Go ahead and bring a tiny bit of joy and pride to the nation during these tough times.

Not sure as even though the country is now facing the 2nd wave of the virus and cases are gradually getting higher throughout the country on a daily basis.

Karachi, 11 November 2020:

An individual has been shifted to an isolation room in the team hotel after he tested positive for Covid-19.

As per the PCB Covid-19 protocols, the entire squad, to which the individual belonged, underwent Covid-19 tests earlier in the day and all members returned negative results.

The individual will stay in isolation until he returns two negative results.

ipl had some crowd well not crowd per se but important people and might be close relatives of team players and management ..
so any update on that?

Actually it should have positive effect. As Much of the people would be glued to tv so lesser chance of faster spread by them
