Stunning & Absolutely breathtaking!!!!!

This should usher the new era in Indian Women Cricket. More girls will pick up the bat & ball now. WPL will further empower them.

This is their third final… 2005,2017,2025.. but yes it feels different this time due to consistency
 
The Indian women's team has narrowed the gap between India and the SENA countries, and this will inspire other teams to do the same. This is a great thing for women's cricket.

Fielding & Running between wicket is what we needs to be improved .

Disagree! Except for the catch drop, ground fielding was very good from Australia women.

And bowling too, Shreyanka Patil a leg spinner who did well in WPL should have been in the Indian team for this World Cup.
 
It is also good for the game that there will be a new women’s champion on Sunday

India will not get a better chance than this. Facing RSA is much better than facing Australia or England in the final. South Africa are good but their batting is very collapsable.(69 and 97 all out vs England and Australia respectively in the league matches)

Australia: champions X 7
England 4
New Zealand 1

Which team will join them on Sunday?

This is the first time I've watched Indian Women's cricket, although I knew a few names from earlier, but man, this has to rank as one of the peak moments for any Indian cricket fan.

And all those emotions at the end -- after 3 gut-wrenching losses, it makes it even more sweet.

Absolutely chuffed to see the girls cross the finishing line. Absolutely chuffed to see the crowd support.

In Martin Scorsese's immortal words -- ABSOLUTE CINEMA!
 
To be honest, I had given up after Australia scored 338. I didn't think they'd get anywhere close.

Started watching the match after Jemima and Harmanpreet got going. Stopped watching after Harmanpreet got out.

Checked the score again and saw 20 required off 17!

I left everything and watched the end -- and all that outpouring of emotions. Just magical!

Yeah, but that’s expected - they’re not superhuman, just exceptionally talented. They’re so much better than other teams on most occasions including India who have let themselves down far more frequently including in today’s game.
 
The power that some of the women cricketers wield is also amazing to see. Harmanpreet's sixes are usually 80m+

Smriti is another power hitter and so is Richa Ghosh.

Pratika Rawal is one of the most aesthetically pleasing batters to watch, either side of the gender divide.

And, of course, Jemima who looks so tiny, so petite, and yet has a SR of 150+ in the final 20 overs.

Amazing talent, as is usual from India, when it comes to batting.

Not sure what fun they derive in mocking women identity. If someone has boy-cut they have to be men. There is no limit to dumbness.

It was a one-off observation. If I had repeatedly kept talking about their appearances, maybe you might have a case.

On the day we achieved our biggest world cup victory, the women are being body shamed. That's the mentality of our country

And there are many offenders in prison who swear they are never like that and it was a one time "mistake".

India constantly ranks among top 3 among the most unsafe country in the world for women. But point out that objectifying women is wrong and leads to this and you are virtue signalling apparently..

And it's not just india, it's entire south east asia with this mentality. Some of the posts about women cricket online and here is genuinely disgusting.

Don’t forget Shafali Verma. She is like Sehwag. A boundary hitter. Plays aggressively.

If India bowls well, they should beat South Africa too. Not going to be easy. They are a beast of a team. But the victory against Aus should give them lots of confidence.

I was on social media. Found nothing of sort. May be because their posts don't appear on my feed. Only one thing they shared which came to my attention was a doctored spike image . Who gives a toss about what anyone thinks.

Judging someone’s gender based on their appearance and something which has nothing to do with the match or their performance is so not done, bro. On one hand we rue the fact that women are not given enough opportunities/facilities to play cricket and then we have this.

I don't like overreaction and virtue signalling is annoying but it was an absurd comment to be fair. Worse than the mild misogyny was the most boring cliche about women in sports - 'that they look like men'.

Made at the worst possible time - perhaps their greatest triumph, you can see how it might rub a lot of people the wrong way.

It was some tongue-in-cheek wordplay .. playing on the age-fudging issue prevalent in India; I quipped this was gender-fudging.

This is why I said we don’t see the tongue in cheek when we read messages in internet. People can easily misconstrue a light hearted comment as a mysogenist one.

I have seen @RexRex posts before and he is a pretty liberal dude. A definite mistake on his part with that comment.

Jokes made based on misogyny is misogyny. Misogyny alone is not funny or lighthearted. Whats the punchline? Whats lighthearted about body shaming people?

There is no punchline, no subversion. For example when southpark or its always Sunny makes such jokes, they have the most despicable characters do it, like eric cartman or Frank Reynolds. The joke is that these people are horrible which is why they are saying these things, it's not that racism or misogyny by themselves is funny.

I would like you to explain how misogyny by itsself is light hearted or funny. In what circumstances? How is me saying - hey I am saying this seriously, different from me saying the exact same thing, but just adding, I was just joking, it was lighthearted - at the end.

It wont improve simply due to biology. Ground fielding and diving forward to stop boundaries is going be very difficult.

There is no humor in misogyny or body shaming by itself. Whats the joke? Whats the punchline?

My favorite show is Always Sunny in Philadelphia where they regularly use the N word, the C word for women, etc. You know where the humor comes from? Because they have the most despicable people saying these things. Same case with southpark where this eric cartman.

The humor doesn't come from making bigoted statements, the humor is in the fact that we know the reason these characters say such things is because they are horrible human beings and the show is making fun of such people who say such things.

Saying the most misogynist or bigoted things and then claiming it's a joke or light hearted doesn't work. Because what's the joke here? That you don't like someone's look? Why is it funny in itself?

Dark humor is difficult to do even by the best in business, the shows etc who do it have genius level writers. Saying the worst things for attention doesn't make it funny. Dark humor is derived from situations and usually to portray that the characters doing it are really bad people.

Did you see the match yesterday? Aussie women seemed faster and more efficient diving than even the men. They were lightning fast, some of the saves were next level including tumbling, sliding, diving etc. I saw no difference with the men team.

It’s not a Women’s cricket issue - more a format issue. ODI cricket has become boring across genders - I can barely watch the middle overs of an ODI now. It’s neither fast paced as T20I nor exciting as a closely contested Test match.

Today's match was anything but boring. IT was thrill a minute affair because India had to keep up with the rate. Probably one of the best ODI (Men & Women) in recent times.

True that, but mine was more a general commentary on ODIs. That format is losing relevancy.
