Batting slots matter. Two best openers are Laura and Smriti. Alysssa didn’t played enough either. It is team of tournament.Icc picked best Team .why should we require an underperformer in the best team?.even if healy dropped wc, she got 2 centuries and an outstanding onslaught against us.Best Team should be on merit.Even in worst case, ghosh can be there at 5/6.
Yeah remember it was that sweep shot from Jemi where Healy dropped the catch. No wonder @sweep_shot played his part there.Pta hai Australia kha knockout hua tha tournament se ? From this post![]()

Contributions matters most in any team.even an out of slot Alyssa at 11 is better than sidra at 9.Alyssa/any capable batter can smash few boundaries.Batting slots matter. Two best openers are Laura and Smriti. Alysssa didn’t played enough either. It is team of tournament.
It is not about who is better but about the team composition based on the World Cup.Contributions matters most in any team.even an out of slot Alyssa at 11 is better than sidra at 9.Alyssa/any capable batter can smash few boundaries.
Our desi mentality will not change unless a spectacle happens to shake the belief or uproot it.i am hoping india to host an Olympics sooner to push the sporting culture in sub continentI hope some of the inspiration from this Indian achievement trickles down to Pakistan too.
A very modest house, a proud father who is a carpenter, he made his daughter a bat from his own hands when she was a kid. Now she won the World Cup.
@Bhaijaan these guys deserve praise more than Jay Shah.
i agree, but dont go overboard…I didn’t follow much of the Women’s ODI World Cup, but seeing India lift the trophy again reminds you how strong and supportive the cricketing culture is in that country. Indian cricketers genuinely help each other grow and improve, and that shows in their success.
Leaving aside their unnecessary and politically driven stance towards Pakistan, which really has no place in cricket, India deserves full credit for building a system where merit and hard work are valued above all else. Even when politics or favouritism tries to sneak in, it rarely lasts long because most of their current and former players simply don’t tolerate nonsense. They back those who perform, stay disciplined, and represent India with pride.
Sure, they might benefit from scheduling advantages here and there, but that’s not why they’re winning tournaments. They’re winning because they’re a solid, professional side built on a zero-tolerance approach to anything that harms team unity. In India, no player is bigger than the team and that’s what makes them so consistent.
Congratulations to India on winning the Women’s ODI World Cup, a great achievement and well-deserved success. All the best for future tournaments. India continues to be a cricketing force moving forward with a culture that now rivals even Australia’s.
Great gesture by BCCI. The team gets $10 million for the win. Wonderful monetary reward to go with the accolades of winning the cup.Of course the family is most important. Many of these girls come from very humble background where people make fun of them for sending their girls to play cricket which used to be considered useless as it doesn’t r en bring much money as the Men’s cricket does but kudos to the support of the families and the will power of these women that they won the World Cup.
The prize money from ICC close to 5 million USD + BCCI already announcing INR 41 crore will be very supportive for them:
Prize Money of ICC Women's WC 2025 :
1) India- $4.48 Million
2) South Africa- $2.24 Million
3) Australia- $1.12 Million
4) England- $1.12 Million
5) Sri Lanka- $700,000
6) New Zealand- $700,000
7) Bangladesh- $280,000
8) Pakistan- $280,000
It is a myth that BCCI helps them since they are young. They are on their own until they get someone to notice. It is the same for Men's cricket. Siraj, Jaiswal were not exactly helped by BCCI when they were young. Only afte rthey got to a stage BCCI took them over. Even Hardik Pandya was from an average middle class family. Gill's coach was his own father at the start. I am sure there are many youngsters who are slogging out somewhere without getting recognized.

Damn $280k is like pennies. How are bottom ranked team going to improve with that?Of course the family is most important. The overall prize money increased 4 times from the last world cup. As women cricket grows in popularity, I think the money will keep increasing at a fast rate.Damn $280k is like pennies. How are bottom ranked team going to improve with that?
It will only be somewhat popular during ODI or T20 WC. After that, the interest will die down. The overall prize money increased 4 times from the last world cup. As women cricket grows in popularity, I think the money will keep increasing at a fast rate.
Its not completely truth. There is a revzsports video explaining about the changes done by andhra cricket association. As per the suggestions of Mithali Raj , they have distributed the nutritional food to the young female players during off season too.Andhra cricket association sent shaik rasheed( U19 , 23 wc vc ) to England and let him developed .He stayed there for 6 years.our cricket associations are like govt colleges.functioning and integrity depends on principal aka local association president. U can take the morally corrupt hca president Azhar , who sold tickets in black or an integrity fuelled ms prasad, ganguly examples. ganguly started the Bengal premier league for women's, first in the country.even now julan goswami drives the female programs in Bengal. It is a myth that BCCI helps them since they are young.
10 years is not enough to bring up interest in anything. Barely few people watched or listen to cricket in India before the world cup win in 1983. And even after that it took a while for cricket to reach the frenzy it did lager. It will only be somewhat popular during ODI or T20 WC. After that, the interest will die down.
Looks like a lot of the players like Healy, Harmanpreet, Mandana, etc are all veteran with like 10+ years of experience. Yet, I've only come to know about them this year, and they are already close to retiring.
