What if the worlds best batsman XI versus the worlds best bowlers XI Who Would win?

Batsmen would win. Having that many bowlers won't help much, and it won't be too hard to get the bowlers out when they bat.

It depends on who are the batsman and who are the bowlers. If you bowling all rounders playing as bowlers then it will be bowlers.

Why would you play 10 bowlers? That's a lot of redundancy.

5 ATG bowlers will do just fine.

From batting team side, even part timers will get tailender wickets.

Also what teams would you pick for World Batsman XI and World Bowlers XI?

ODIs
Batsmen:

Dhawan
Rohit
Warner
Amla
Kohli*
Du Plessis
Williamson
Morgan
Babar
De Villiers
Buttler+

Now the bowlers are: Williamson, Kohli, Rohit, Babar and Du Plessis.

Bowlers:

Narine
Woakes
Amir*
Rashid
Rabada
Starc
Plunkett
Hasan
Bhuvneshwar
Hazlewood
Tahir
Dhoni+

Bowlers win easy

Actually the contest should be world eleven to chase 300 in 50 overs against the the best top 6 bowlers around the world.

Jadeja over Tahir. He's the better batsman. Santner also gets in over Plunkett.

Interesting.

I reckon batsmen would have slight advantage.

They can get bowlers out purely due to complete inability of some of the bowlers to bat or bat long enough. Even a lot of poor deliveries might end up taking wickets with bowlers slogging their way to pavilion.

Bowlers would still have to be at their absolute best with both bat and ball.

A team studded with batsmen right up to the tail is too good to overcome the best of bowlers put together

These players can bat , and with the kind of bowlers they are facing they can easily get 300 plus.

Not even a comparaison. Batsmen would win everytime. If a batsmen like smith/kholi/etc is set, they can rip apart any bowling. GG for bowlers. Also, some of the batsmen can bowl a few so it would be easy to take the bowlers out aswell.

Think about how batsman can actually bowl? If batsman post monster totals think about how the batsman will bowl to the bowlers, I can see the likes of Woakes and Narine going after Kohli and Warner.

I think the bowlers XI can easily beat the batsman XI. There aren't many good batting all-rounders in cricket and there are very good bowling all-rounders who would be very adequate against the pies thrown by Part-time bowlers.

Bowlers 11 has decent batters but batters 11 has zero bowlers. Rohit used to bowl but he is disabled or something. Williamson is Ajmaled by ICC.

Bowlers win easily.

Bowlers win with ease.

Name one batsman who can bowl 80+ mph?

Very hard to name even one!

It would be interesting if it is batting allrounders vs bowling allrounders.

ODIs/T20s Batting ARs:

Munro
Hafeez
Stokes
Mathews
H Pandya
Maxwell
M Marsh
Russell
Pollard
M Stoinis
Neesham

Bowling ARs:

Holder
Jadeja
Woakes
S Curran
T Curran
Morris
Jamieson
Santner
Shadab
F Ashraf
Imad Wasim

I think batting ARs would win most times.

How do we define that? Does all-rounders count?

Batsman XI:-

Rohit
Warner
Smith( part time
Kohli
Root( part time)
Williamson( part time but not sure)
Babar
Pujara

Stokes??( Batting all-rounder)

Bowlers XI :-

Ashwin??
Jadeja??
Cummins
Jamieson
Archer
Rabada
Shaheen
Boult
Shami
Anderson
Bumrah

Best bowlers against best batsmen, if the best bowler happens to be an all-rounder that’s fine (like Ashwin or Jamieson).

Since there’s a limited number of overs in T20 cricket, the batsmen XI can afford to slog ball after ball and put up a 200+ score which the bowlers won’t be able to chase. The batsmen would also suffice with part time bowling which is honestly enough in T20s against even regular batsmen, so I shudder to think how part time would be effective against bowlers who can’t really bat.

In ODIs, the batsmen the wicket matters more and the batsmen need to be able to stick around — this is difficult as you have 11 world class bowlers including some ATGs and your worst possible matchup as a batsman will definitely be available. You might slog a bit but you’ll find it difficult to stay on the wicket. Meanwhile, part time bowling from batsmen will really be quite easy to negotiate by the bowlers who all have a little bit of batting prowess unless they are genuine number 11s. This would still be a relatively even contest.

Tests will be completely skewed towards the bowlers. You just won’t be able to bowl them out with part time bowling unless you’re Joe Root and bowling to people with bad defensive techniques against spin.

Also, unrelated - I know Pant has been killing it in Tests but I believe this is for all three formats and hence your best wicket keeper should be Quinton de Kock or Mohammad Rizwan.

Does Stokes count in batsman XI? In current era, there is no batting all rounder aside of him whose bowling can be any threat to bowlers XI.

Garfield Sobers
Jacques Kallis
Steve Waugh

These three could have been threat to bowlers XI and if Stokes count, he will be one in current era.

Steve Waugh will be considered as part timer

Steve Waugh will be considered as part timer

He was a batting all-rounder in first half, in second half with emergence of McGrath and Warne, he didn't needed to bowl enough. So, basically became a part timer in second half.

But yes, not at same level to Stokes, Kallis and Sobers in the second suit.
