Would a World XI Test tour to play a one-off Test work?

I am not sure but a Test series on Pakistan soil seems way-off at the moment.

Why not ask for a World XI Test squad to play a one-off Test in say Karachi?

Definitely. Will give confidence to the likes of SL to tour for full series, leading to a proper perception that we are perfectly capable of hosting teams for longer periods

I think it would work, possibly a day night test match may be the better option. As so much money is, presumably, spent on security PCB would want as much attendance as possible to get the money back from ticket sales. More people will go to day night test matches and it may be better for the opposition as well to play day night due to the heat during the day. Also, it will be good practice for opposition playing with a pink ball under lights as the players will have less pressure than in a country vs country match
