Would our past legends still be relevant in modern cricket if they were playing currently?

I have heard lot of ex-cricketers criticize our current crop of players for their performances and you might get an impression from outside that as if we were like Aussie ATG squad and won many WC,Tests and now our legends are embarrassed by our current players. But we know its not so.
This thread is out of curiousity. The Pakistan teams of 80's and 90's used to thrash India and many countries but still underachieved especially after 1992.India improved their cricket leaps and bounds during last decade and I wonder would our say 1999 team which called one of our best team would fare in modern cricket say WC 2019
My opinion may be a bit unpopular but I dont think they would do much better than the current team.Wasim would be rendered useless due to game being in batsman's favour and our poor fielding and fitness of Inzi and others would haunt us.SR problem would still be there and maybe we would make Semis.Just think other teams raised their game a lot in last decade while as we remained same. Our players arent bad but its just other teams became much better and adapted while we remained stagnant.

Pakistan was unpredictable even when they had a gun set of bowlers and good batsmen. After all they were the reason why BD even got test status

I think people make a mistake by comparing old cricketers to modern cricketers.

Pretty sure if we had a time machine and brought the 1979 WI wc winning cricket team and the 2003 australian wc winning cricket team, and put them in the 2019 wc, they would beat all the teams of 2019 and be playing each other in the final!

As far as pakistan's batting in wc is concerned, i would say babar and haris are probably better than any pak odi batsman who have ever played in a wc for pak, with the exception of saeed anwar!
Inzi played the greatest innings of a wc in 1992 against NZ and followed it up with a decent innings in the final, but thats all hes ever done in wcs.

As far as bowling goes, imran, wasim, waqar, athkar, qadir, mushi, saqi, afridi and ajmal are better than any bowlers we have now!
