Would you host a refugee?

Would you host a Ukrainian refugee for £350 a month like the UK has offered? I wouldn't seeing Ukrainians are by and large Muslim haters too. Also I wouldn't trust them when they are alone at home.

Not being specific on the nationality, but I would like to host a refugee. Unfortunately at the moment we don’t qualify in our household because we don’t have a spare bedroom.

Let Tory billionaire donors and millionaire politicians host Ukrainian refugees - many wealthy Tory voters have second, even third, houses, let them open up their properties to those fleeing the war. Let them set an example. But, God bless and reward those generous souls that invite Ukrainian refugees into their homes.

Note: the millions of maimed and displaced refugees of Western 'wars' - Yugoslavia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria, Yemen, Somalia and so on - were never honoured in this way. Whilst many did eventually make their way to the UK and earn citizenship or residency, they were not welcomed nor were the British invited to 'host' them and promised payment for doing so.

That being said: the movement of peoples across cities, countries and continents defines the collective human experience. Abraham, pbuh, was forced to emigrate when his people, including his father, threatened him with physical harm. Bani Israel were eventually liberated from enslavement, endured hardships and suffering upon their journey to the Holy or Promised Land - during the time of Moses, pbuh. The Prophet Muhammad, pbuh, was forced to migrate from the city of his birth Mecca, to Medina, when his adversaries threatened to assassinate him, kill his family members, Companions and Muslims.

The peoples of Medina welcomed poor, starving, weary Muslims - Al-Muhajirun, The Emigrants - into their homes, fed, clothed and helped them - they are known as Al-Ansar, The Helpers. And it is where the Prophet, pbuh, made his home and where he was laid to rest when he died.

The story of emigrating and becoming an immigrant is interwoven into every fabric and aspect of human life, society and civilization.

Is it true, that when the prophet pbuh arrived in Medina, his camel sat at the door of Al-Ansariyah who would later take up arms to defend him in battle when soldiers began to run away, what a warrior she was and a very generous tribe she came from.

I will donate some child clothing which my siblings have spare from their kids. Also be nice to them if I meet any. Even though I feel this conflict is a Nato plan, the Ukrainian people esp children are poor victims.

Im assuming no men will be coming as they would rather defend their land

But I wont be hosting any in my house for two reasons. 1. They will not appreciate my personal views and 2. there are no background checks for these refugees.

UK should rent out some hotels at a discount price and house them until the conflict is over.

I can barely host my own family in my house let alone a refugee, and it's a big house. This whole idea of saving people due to our privelege doesn't sit well with me, I would far rather see wealth shared around so they could live in their own houses. It sickens me to see people forced to flee their homes due to big nations fighting proxy wars for their own purposes.

Having a complete stranger in my home doesn't sit well with me. There is no reason why British people should get involved personally with refugee's when their suffering is not due to us. I will support them financially as much as possible, that's all. £350 a month to host a refugee is no way near enough. Try a £1000 a month then more people may consider it.

Off topic slightly but if you get the chance to visit Istanbul then Eyup Sultan is a place to visit.

It is where this great man Abu Ayub al Ansari is buried and is an oasis of calm in a hectic city.

It is truly amazing how Allah swt allows great empires to spring from the feet of his saints.

For centuries the Ottoman caliphs of Islam would visit the shrine of the one who's home became the Prophets home.

Many miles from Madina and many years after the death of the Holy Prophet, Abu Ayub was still at the heart of the Islamic community.

Regarding your question about the Prophet Muhammad's (pbuh) camel - I don't know, sorry. Maybe someone more knowledgeable has the answer?

Yes. In fact we are in talks with RST to either host or sponsor a family we have been in talks with. They moved to the United States four months ago from Afghanistan, and have a three month baby. They are probably the nicest people I have ever met.

It depends on where the refugee is from. If the refugee is close to me in terms of religion and culture, I don't mind. But, I also need to have a spare basement room in my house.
