Zedman, where are you?!
I'll dig some threads from yesterday and report the names here

Listen, Pak was not expected to win , with this weak batting line up and mental state, the past performances, results and mental state only lead you to conclude the worst, theres nothing pessimistic or wrist slitting about that, its just the dismal reality.
They pulled of one of those unpredictable wins (after 15 years) against Aus in a test match... thanks to the heroics of a couple of star bowlers...
Nothing to start bragging about, alot more hard work and improvement needs to happen, if they want to be a better test team

What is logical about believing that a team would lose after it has a lead of 170, and its bowlers had skittled out the opposition for 88 in the first innings?
What is logical about the a team whose 4 specialists batsmen collapse under the pressure of chasing 40 runs in 2 days :akmal:umarakmal
Whatever mate, we won and you and your fellow doubters were wrong.
Ok dude, you win, Pak completely thrashed the aussies man, batted them out the game, well done !! )

We have way too many wristslitters around these days. I hope some of them can get over it.

We ve only won 2 out of last 19 tests, thats roughly hardly winning over a 2 year period
do you think we are gonna be a positive bunch????
An answer to this, by the non wrist slitters would be nice !!
You aswell Paradox, no faith in Pakistan winning a Test match.
Just finishing off my 20th pie now. Feel bloated. lolAdd Desire and chui_kadoo(?) to that list. Remember those two being pretty adamant we would lose.

Now that Ive owned up- please let's not get carried away.
Totally agree. Lets not get carried away with thsi win.
Our batting is awful.....
Main issue is our batting. We will seriously struggle with this batting line up against the English.
Again Agree with you that our batting was awful, other wise we would have won this quite easily.
But I think we have found a very good batsman in Umer Amin. For some reasons we(Pakistanis) are not very good at finding good batsman but this guy is very talented.Azhar Ali I am not too sure about, just another hyped up player.
Farhat is still not a test opener despite his 67 - but we have no other option so we are stuck with him.
No Brainer their. No one respect Farhat and no one ever will. His father-in-law & people who selected him are trying to convert a donkey into a thorough-bred....never gona happen.
Disagree that we dont have any choice.
But there isno reason to stick with Malik and Umar Akmal. Malik is rubbish.
Agree as far as Malik is concerned. He was rubish, still is rubish and I can asure you that he will remain rubish.
And I hope that even the most ardent PP fanatics are now agreeing with me that Umar does not have the technique, footwork, temperament and shot range/shot selection to be a test success. Play him as an ODI and 20-20 player -he's a slogger. Afridi mark 2.
I think you are little harsh on Umar Akmal. If he had played his natural game in the second inning the match would have been over long time ago.
Please bring back Moyo and YK - even though they are not the versions of 4 years ago- they will do.Malik out.Umar out. Moyo and YK in. And then we can compete.
Yes, please bring back Yunis and Moyo. But they should replace Shoaib Malik and Azhar Ali.

I really hope for Pakistan crickets sake, that we dont get selectors that think like you guys. Umar Akmal has played 6 test matches, he already has a 100 and some 50+ scores with an average above 40. And you want to drop him. He is still learning.
Even if we bring back Younis and Yousuf, they can only serve Pakistan cricket for a very short period. Dont get me wrong, I love both Younis and Yousuf and they should walk into our team eyes closed, but you have take into account what side effects that will have on the whole team now and the future.
You also want to drop Azhar Ali :S
He is playing in his second test match, and just made a HUGE contribution to winning against Australia. What are you on about. You could argue about Umar Amin, but eventhough he failed, I for one am convinced that he should be in the lineup.
I will not debate about Malik, because that is a topic that is just going out control. Some hate him and some love him. I for one am a big fan of his, and want him to be in the team, and I know we can debate this day in and day out, and we probably wont change our minds about his merits to be in the team.
More a realist than a pessimist, mate. It's not going to be every day that Pakistan will bowl out Australia for 88 and we'll chase 180 against them in our fourth innings.
i think people are getting a bit overexcited here. You can't blame them for being so pessimistic. We hadn't won in 15 years and the sydney wounds were still very fresh. I don't think there was not one of us who was not nervous during that last 40 runs saying please don't let it be again.
We won and its great but still batting is a huge problem for our team.

To the following peeps...
Ok, wait, Pakistan are about 250 runs behind, If malik and the tail can put on another 100, then Aamir and Asif can get 3 hatricks between them, that will leave us needing to chase about 150 in the 4th innings. What you say... we can do this Insha-Allah, come support our boys, shabash. )
Have you put the pie in the oven yet.. Im getting hungry )
Reporting for duty !! Yes Sir !! Shabash !!
Where are the chefs who are dishing up this pie... I want to have some !!

as long as the PCB and selecters make wrong headed and corrupt decision like leaving out the likes of Younus Khan but supporting failures like Farhat and Akmals there is no hope
Lets celebrate and lock this threadddddddd
Great stuff by Razzaq. Somebody said it right above, lets all celebrate today!!!
