What's new

Yasir Shah takes 10 wickets on Day 3 as New Zealand end day on 131/2 after following-on

Kane needs to farm strike and just bat as many overs as he can.

Williamson playing on different wicket to the rest here.

LMAO all it takes is one ball with Kane off strike for a wicket to fall.

This is what hurts pakistan... They take wickets of proper batsman and then they allow tail enders to score...

That's plumb.

Top class bowling from Yasir, our batsmen had no chance.

Moral victory for Williamson if we can not get them out under 100.

Completely owned by Yasir.

Most of our batsmen couldn't last 2 balls against him.

I feel for Kane, you can tell there's a lot more days like this for him ahead.

It is a shame there is not enough time left for Pak to win the match, mindless batting by Pak

Outside a couple of players, too many bits and piece crickets and players who do not belong at this level.

told brother MMHS on first day first session that this was a dry surface. Drier than usual dubai surfaces.

Lets hope we dont decide to bat. Wrap up the test match and dont give hafeez a chance to score soft runs.

Yasir Definatley should get a 10 for in the match now.

Follow on enforced well done.

Wonder if Yasir will be given new ball to continue.

Everyone read my post on yesterday’s match thread at the end of the day:

- I said don’t panic and judge a wicket after 2 days like many were.

- This pitch will suit Yasir Shah and he will do well.

I said these exact things ^^. Now no one expected such a collapse and career best figures for Yasir but I was positive because 400 runs on the board in Asia means big trouble for the opposition especially non Asian aides.

dont worry brother , they read this surface very well, and assessed their opposition well.
those two hundreds from babar and Haris will eventually turn out to be match winning knocks

its pp..we have some inexperienced cricket watchers who need to learn a bit of patience.

If we lose another wicket :)))

We might as well just give this Test up and use the extra days to learn how to play spin from Kane.

Not a fan of enforcing follow ons, especially in Asia. Bat today . . get the lead up to 450/500 . . pitch isn't getting any better . . and ask them to bat for the last 2 days . .
oh well, decision is made! I hope it doesn't come and bite us in the backside

328 is the lead , if new zealand scores 400 in this innings they deserve to win anyway.

Pakistan showed mercy, they could have batted again and ground our bowlers into the dust for another day and then rolled them over on day 4.

Amazing from Yasir. So much for being on his last legs. Wrist slitters silenced for now.

Right decision to force follow-on. Bowlers are on form. Specially Yasir Shah

I would have put more miles into the NZ bowlers legs,( thinking of the next test and given how discipline their bowlers were over 160 overs) and the pitch is only going to get worse in that time. There is so much time in this game

We don't need to look at the batting pitch for 4th innings. Because hopefully that'll never come and we'll win by an innings

Not a huge fan of giving teams a follow on. Pakistan could have made a quick 100-150 runs and really demoralized the living daylights out of New Zealand.

This is a bit dangerous to bat last again! Pakistan probably got over confident.

I know just having fun at D&G brigade

There's so much time left in this game. I'm not sure why follow on was enforced. Could've easily batted again. Scored 200 and given NZ a target of 550 to bat on a 4th and 5th day pitch. Maybe the rain factored into their decision making.

Still better than slow RR... :yk
Meh, we're getting killed but at least this is getting the game moving. I couldn't even watch whatever Pakistan were doing. Even though we got killed, I still watched because it was an entertaining car crash.

in Dubai Test, sarfaraz was criticized for not opting follow on after 280 run lead over Aussies.

Why give them this chance? Follow ons are only useful when there isn't much time left in the game. I don't agree with the decision. Anywya, it has been made . . Like I said . . hopefully, it pays off!

Good decision , the lead is 328 runs. They will have to bat really really well to get past it and give us a target of around 75 100 to beat us.

I still don't think the wicket is as difficult as the score makes it look, I just think the batsmen from both teams aren't that good.

Kane and Babar didn't bat too bad and I think with Haris it was more mental/confidence thing than the pitch.

I don’t feel comfortable with this follow on. Maybe it’s the right decision but can also backfire if Kiwis score heavily. Whenever there is a follow on I get the Ind v Aus flashbacks.

This team rolled over for 90 in the space of 10 overs, odds are they'll do the same once Yasir is back on.
