Pakistan captain speaking after his side's 20 run victory in the 1st T20I:

"It was an important match for us after the champions trophy."

"Babar Azam and Ahmed Shehzad handled the innings really well after the early wicket."

"You can't praise Babar Azam's innings enough today and then after that, the likes of Shoaib Malik and Imad Wasim provided the finishing touches."

"Our fitness has been improving day by day and we've been working hard with the trainer. The amount of humidity meant it was like a fitness test for the players today and they passed it with flying colours."

"Thanks to the crowd, the armed forces and the PCB for enabling this match to take place. I would like to request the crowd to keep coming and support both the teams."

Babar said that the pitch was a little slow while Faf said that Pakistan scored 20 runs too many.... puts his knock into perspective.

Babar was lucky that part timers bowled filth, otherwise he's another Shehzad with his tuktuks

Our batting stocks for the series are way too shallow!

The only reserve is Umar Amin, who's a ttf of highest order

Baba was the main standout but it was still a team effort. Good to see other players being lauded too.

15% of his balls were dots. You call that tuk-tuk? He hit 34 singles and doubles.

Babar's been a tuktuk over his career.

He has scored 20+ 7 times in his t20 career, and only once before today has he crossed the SR of even 113. Plus, his CPL exploits and even his domestic t20 stats indicate the kind of slow-goer that he is.

Some of his shots yesterday was just magnificent. Was so disappointed when he got out as he deserved a century
