Sharjeel (at his peak)
Imran Nazir (at his peak)
Rizwan (wk)
Malik (at his peak- j/k, his whole career was his peak)
Umar Akmal
Afridi
Shadab
Gul
Amir
Shaheen
Asif

Bench:
Rauf
Babar

People may be surprised to see Asif, but imo he had in him to do it in LOIs too, esp in the right conditions. Brings variety to the pace attack.

Babar lovers don’t be sad. Line up is stacked with t20 ATGs, only a matter of time till he makes it in the all time XI. Probably ahead of his cousin.

Please explain this. FIVE of your all time team are current players who can't make the present day XI. Lol how does that work

Akmal is struggling in 2nd 11 so he’s better then Rizwan who already is our greatest wicket keeper ever. Sharjeel a flopped batsmen at international level and even failing at domestics is better then potentially Pakistan’s best bat ever. Shoaib Malik after playing for 4 decades is probably the worst player in history to play this long. Fakhar Zaman who been a complete flop in t20 is better then Our current openers. Who averages 2 times more and pretty much with same strike rate. Asif Ali the less said the better.

Loving the Sharjeel (at his peak) comments :))

The guy batted less than 20 times for Pakistan, surely you can't isolate a 'peak' in such a small sample :))

In this eleven, Babar and Rizwan would bat till over 14. Then the middle order would fail. And we would say that there are no power hitters in Pakistan.

But but but they are ranked 1 and 3

Right! Hafeez, Malik, and Misbah would be mocked like Ifti, Khushdil, and Asif. The actual Asif, Afridi, and Razzak would never get a chance to shine. Rizwan would play 100% of the games and pray on the field.

Sharjeel (at his peak) is hilarious as DV mentioned.

Babar, Rizwan, Hafeez, Akmal, Malik, Misbah, Afridi, Shadab, Amir, Gul, Shaheen

The best reality check they have been served today is the top 5 T20 player list by Mark Waugh

This is a legend of the game that has fought wars on the field for Australia to win the 99 World Cup and thus leading to the longest reign of white ball dominance in the game as we know it.

Very satisfying to see him select an no.15 and no.29 ranked player in his top 5!

My top 5 currently in the world (no order)

1. Rauf
2. Rajapaksa
3. SKY
4. Butler
5. Rashid Khan

My top 5 Pakistani T20 players (form or no form)

1. Rauf
2. Fakhar
3. Sharjeel
4. Shadab

3. Sharjeel
4. Shadab

I don't have the knowledge to compile such a list, having returned to cricket only in 2015, but I would have loved to have seen Ajmal, Umar Gul, Asif, Umar Akmal, Amir, Razzak, and even Afridi at their peak.

Misbah has to be in there he used to punish spinners at ease. Back 2007 t20 wc he was probably the best batsman.

If I could include anyone who has played for Pakistan in general. Akram and anwar would be able to adopt easily

1: sawed anwar
2: rizwan
3: babar
4: inzimam
5 Abdul razaq
6 afridi
7wasim akram
8 : shadab khan
9: umar gul
10: shaheed afridi
11: akhtar/rauf

1. Babar
2. Rizwan
3. Hafeez
4. Sarfraz
5. Umar Akmal
6. Malik
7. Afridi
8. Amir
9. Gul
10. Ajmal
11. Shaheen

It's so funny seeing the "at his peak" additions. As if the whole team isn't being considered at their peak.

Babar
Rizwan
U Akmal
Misbah ul Haq
M Hafeez
Asif Ali
Shahid Afridi
Abdul Razzaq
Umar Gul
Saeed Ajmal
Shaheen

There is no-one that is beating this team at its prime. Babar and Rizwan at the top are given, U Akmal with his wide arrange of shots is my 3, Misbah and Hafeez is the perfect middle order. I purposely put Hafeez down in the order because I always believed he is a much more effective middle order/lower order batsman. The following power striking of Asif Ali, Afridi, Razzaq and even Gul, would be a nightmare for any bowling lineup.

The spin trio of Hafeez, Afridi and Ajmal is already proven to win games. Add to that Shaheen's new ball bowling, Gul's death bowling, and Razzaq's handy medium pace.

In this eleven, Babar and Rizwan would bat till over 14. Then the middle order would fail. And we would say that there are no power hitters in Pakistan.

This XI with the right mindset and flexibility in the batting line up wouldn't allow them to bat slowly for long.

If it doesnt work there is enough dynamism in the lower order to shift things around. Its the perfectly balanced side.

More balanced than including a player with a two game peak :))

Right! Hafeez, Malik, and Misbah would be mocked like Ifti, Khushdil, and Asif. The actual Asif, Afridi, and Razzak would never get a chance to shine. Rizwan would play 100% of the games and pray on the field.

The (c) in the line up is not against Babars name but Afridis.

This is a very crucial detail.

And this crucial detail would also have limited the inclusion of Sharjeel imo. Afridi wouldn't have included such a tainted player, even with his alleged peak :))

1) Sharjeel Khan
2) Imran Nazir
3) Fakhar Zaman
4) Umar Akmal (wk)
5) Shoaib Malik
6) Shahid Afridi (c)
7) Abdul Razzaq
8) Asif Ali
9) Umar Gul
10) Mohammad Amir
11) Saeed Ajmal

Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un to the opposition.

Brilliant team.

From this team, I would pick Shoaib Akhtar over Amir, and Hafeez over Malik (because Hafeez could bowl very economically & was a gun T20 batsman in last part of his career)

Kamran Akmal(wk)
Fakhar Zaman
Shahid Afridi
Mohd Hafeez
Asif Ali
Abdur Razzaq
Shadab Khan(c)
Umar Gull
Shaheen Afridi
Nasem Shah
Haris Rouf

What ever happened to Umar Gul? Did he retire or get injured? How come he stopped playing? Granted he’s too old now but when did he stop

A lot of people are forgetting that in Afridi’s best tournament (the WT20 that we won), he batted at 1 down.

With accumulators like Babar and Rizwan opening, my team has the firepower of Afridi at 1 down.

Babar
Rizwan (wk)
Afridi (c)
Hafeez
Umar Akmal (prime)
Razzaq
Shadab
Umar Gul
Ajmal
Haris Rauf
Shaheen

Probably the best all time T20 XI from any nation. Excellent opening pair who can accelerate or accumulate, Afridi at 1 down, Hafeez and prime Akmal who can also attack, followed by some lower order thrashing by Razzaq and Shadab!

Gul, Shaheen and Raif would be frightening in T20’s with Ajmal Shadab and Hafeez sharing the overs in the spin department.

Unbeatable!

My all time T20 Eleven

Imran Nazir
Rizwan (wk)
Afridi (c)
Hafeez
Umar Akmal
Razzaq
Shadab
Umar Gul
Ajmal
Haris Rauf/Amir
Shaheen

Best 11 with 1 Accumulator who can pick up pace or prevent collapse.

1. Sharjeel Khan
2. Imran Nazir
3. Shahid Afridi
4. Mohammad Hafeez
5. Shoaib Malik (c)
6. Abdul Razzaq
7. Umar Akmal (wk)
8. Imad Wasim
9. Harris Rauf
10. Umar Gul
11. Shaheen Afridi

12. Fakhar Zaman (opener)
13. Babar Azam (middle order)
14. Kamran Akmal (wk)
15. Sohail Tanvir (pace all rounder)
16. Shadab Khan (spin all rounder)

Fakhar has an average of 21.7 with a S/R of 129 how is he in almost every XI on this thread 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.

He might be good for Qalandars but for Pakistan he's pathetic as far as T20's are concerned.

Some horrible teams being shared here. Here is the official all-time XI of Pakistan:

Kami was a really good T20 opener with a dashing offside game unlike Riz, surprised not mentioned much, maybe his personality precedes him.

Without a doubt a beautiful batsman to watch when on song. I think he is an unreliable keeper who can cost you games but there is no denying that he was a far superior white ball attacking opener/batsman than Rizwan

Unfortunately he doesn’t have 20 T20i 50s for his fans to harp on about

Awful SR. Same with his brother.

Oh bhai please don’t use SRs of 6-7 years ago to compare them with the SRs of now. Back then, T20i cricket was being played with full strength sides. Not highly weakened sides like we see today. Umar Akmal and Kamran Akmal in that regard were great T20 players. To this day I have not seen an innings like Umar’s 94 against Australia in the Semi final against Australia. That was probably the greatest T20i innings by a Pakistani player at a big match.

Fakhar Zaman’s 70+ in the last World Cup was outstanding too.

In terms of T20 opening, the two innings by Sharjeel against NZ and Australia in 2016 were blistering for Pakistani standards as well. Imran Nazir’s 34 against India in the 2007 final was high octane! That 20 run over to Sreesanth was brilliant

Oooft, that innings was mint.

Makes sense why you haven't seen a knock like that since...because it wasnt in a semi it was a group match.

Umar also struck at 92sr during Sharjeels "blistering' knock against the Kiwis.

I cant remember Kami playing one meaningful T20 knock as opener. He always flattered to decieve.

PS

The best batting innings by a Pakistani in a T20 match belongs to Misbah for his knock against Australia 2007.

If you think SRs for t20 have to be adjusted according to eras then that deserves a 220 SR!

wont get past group stages lol

Haris Rauf being the highest wicket taker for Pak in T20s made me think what would be the best T20 team for Pak (from the players who have played int'l T20). We have a case of our ATGs like Imran, Waqar & Wasim that they'd make it good in T20 but they never really played it so we cannot select them.

There have been so many bits and pieces players in Pak in the last 20 or so years that it'll be a fun exercise to do I think. Who'd take the gloves, the always shoddy Akmal bros or the slow but sort of reliable Rizwan? In the absence of true all rounders, will Malik make it into the team over Hafeez or we will have a showdown between Razzaq & Azhar?

Something like this would be my go to

U Akmal (k)
Imran Nazir
Fakhar
Babar
Misbah
Malik
Razzaq
Afridi
Gul
Rauf
Sohail Tanvir

Akhtar, Shaheen, Amir, Hafeez, Rizwan (the chosen 16).

The absence of a middle order left handed batter is glaring but I cannot recall a good one who has played for Pak. Kami had exceptional stroke play on the day but his keeping was just atrocious so he's a definite no in my book. Have not selected Ajmal because he chucked, & Sharjeel because he was a fixer.

What do you people think?

Wasim and Saqlain never played any international T20. How do they make the XI?

No because I don’t think it’s fair to put in a guy clearly banned for chucking. It is what it is.
Then how is it fair to play a guy who was banned for fixing??? Nayy bro... Saeed deserves a spot as much as Sharjeel (according to you).

Based on their ODI record...I think saeed should replace saqlain... amir can replace Wasim

Yeah but ODI and T20 aren't same. If both get mixed, other players like Inzamam, Saeed Anwar, and even Imran Khan can be added.

This is gonna be fun.

We go on about all time test and all time odi teams of Pakistan, but lets enter the controversial territory of all time t20 team of Pakistan

I get it, t20 is still that format which everyone watches more but doesnt take it serious enough to make an all time 11.

But who makes it?

One of the hardest parts in making this team is that certain players were top of their t20 game in certain years than were bad in years after.

Why have Hafeez at 8 in a T20? More often than not, he’ll only have 5–10 balls to play with if he’s coming in so late.

Babar Azam…

I dont have one. I dont think Pakistan has done enough to make a all time t20 team, but still interested to know what other members make

If Babar and Rizwan retire now I think they can still make an ATG XI due to lack of other options in opener slot ( you can blame them for that but it's the reality)

I'd still take Rizwan over Kamran and Babar has done well in patches.

However their stubbornness and failure to adapt means that it won't take much for another opener to remove them from the line up.

Hopefully Saim and Haris can do it.

Wow thats a bold claim. They should make it into a Failed ATG XI

I would take them over Imran Nazir and Kamran. Those are the only two contenders for opener slot and WK in ATG line up for now.

I guess you could move Afridi and Hafeez to opener and then slot Fakhar and Sarfraz into the side as an option too.

Even if you dislike Babar and Rizwan if you are to pick an ATG side at the moment, then they gotta play.
