Your earliest memory of an international cricket game?

Dad came home from work, not even a cricket fan, saying he heard on car radio Ireland were on course for a massive upset. Flicked on the TV and saw last hour or so of Irelands chase vs Pakistan in 2007.

Wow this forum is full of youngsters!😁 My earliest memory is Zaheer Abbas' 274 against England at Edgebaston!

Mine too was world cup quarter final 1996 vs India at Bangalore
Though i was only 7 n couldn't understand much about the game but still remember there was one tv in whole colony and it was set in the lawn and whole mohallah was sitting there. There was pin drop silence . Roads were empty . Everyone looking tense extremely tense as if a war going on . I still remember tension of my parents face . Still remember shocking faces of everyone when ajay jadeja smashed waqar younus. I see a bit of hope n smiles on face when Anwar n sohail were playing but after that there was no hopeful moment and after the match everyone looked shattered . No one is talking to each other the atmosphere was so tense as if someone had died. Still this memory is refreshed in my mind

92/96 WC seems to be when a lot of people on this forum started to get into cricket.

Seem to be a lot Gen Y in here! Without a shadow of doubt, the luckiest Generation.

Wah so we have some 'Born in 2000s' youngsta beauties here too.

My earliest memory is 1996 quarter final when Ajay Jadeja smashed Waqar Younis for ~40 in last 2 overs.

Then some other instances from that world cup like Amir Sohail's stupidity and getting bowled, Indians burning stuff in Kolkatta and Kambli crying and finally Ranatunga's late cut for 4 with SL winning the World Cup.

I don't remember much of it, but I went to a match at National Stadium in Karachi at about 2006-ish, Pakistan vs. West Indies. Pakistan won if I remember correctly. I had no idea which players were playing haha and wasn't all that into the cricket part of the game but i loved being in the crowd. I hope to go to another match soon!

I went to that match too lol. :moha

It was a red ball ODI VS SL in Lahore. Maybe 1998/99?

1999 WC is seared into memory. Joyous memories and the depressing final.

Which is the best cricket match you have watched at the stadium?

For me, it has to be Pakistan vs NZ at Edgbaston.

92 WC india vs Australia. Clearly remember the last over and last ball specifically. They should have run 3.

Earliest memory of international game is SA vs UAE in 1996 WC. I was 7 and started watching cricket after seeing gary kirsten hit huge sixes in that match.
But the game that really sparked my interest was pak vs zim in sharjah a few months after WC. Pak scored 150 and I told my father its going be an easy chase for Zim. But father predicted a Pak win by 20-30 runs and that was exactly what happened. That sort of motivated me to learn more about the game.

It was Sharjah and I went to the game between Pakistan and WI with my dad and uncle in the late 80s. I remember two things very clearly. Firstly Imran Khan taking a sky high catch at boundary line.
Secondly when Curtly Ambrose was batting with the tail, he wasnt taking singles. Back then I was really confused as to why he is not taking singles lol.
