My family, bar my father, is a hardcore non veg family. Even my father consumes non veg, but unlike us he can do without non veg food.

In my life, I’ve tasted chicken, mutton, sheep, pigeon, duck, pork, beef, deer.

My ultimate favorite? Mutton. While the most common meat I consume almost everyday is chicken, my favorite meat is mutton.

What’s you favorite type of meat?

I love beef and lamb.

I also love chicken but beef is the best for me.

I want to try out camel meat and deer meat.

It's a good question because I to consume chicken frequently so I guess that would be my favourite ? I say that because am unable to eat red meat on a very frequent basis, but I'd say Lamb/Mutton would be my favourite as well.

Only eat Beef on Eid and whenever I get a steak, if it's made properly it is very nice to consume. I always get my steak well done, so need to make sure go to the right place so it is not over-cooked. Steak is lovely to treat myself every now and then.

Chicken and Lamb are probably a favourite as I consume them more often and Beef special occasions.

I have had a camel a long time ago, it was decent :afridi

Dumba, but the doctor has told me not to consume red meat due to a genetic predisposition to elevated cholesterol. I have to make do with chicken, which is an incredibly overrated and underwhelming meat.

Depends on what I am eating.

Steak/burger/sandwich/pizza - beef
Salan/pulao - bakra
barbecue and karahi - dumba
Kabab - beef and dumba mixed.

Pork burgers / bacon , mutton Biriyani , beef steak , fish curry , fried chicken in that order

My usual go to meat is Beef(burgers or steak) and Lamb for Biryani. I don’t like Goat Biryani due to weird after taste. I also absolutely love Buffalo(Bison) burgers.
Chicken is pretty good and I love grilled chicken breasts or deep fried nuggets

I had Alligator Kebabs
Deer Jerky
For seafood I had Lobsters, Crabs, Eel, and Shark

Want to try Rabbit, Goose, and Duck

Big No to Pork(Pig) and Cat fish.

I forgot to mention goat meat and duck meat.

I have eaten goat meat before and I loved it. It has a weird smell though. You can tackle the smell by making it super-spicy and eat it with onions/lemon.

I have never tried duck meat and I would love to try it.

Pepperoni is to die for. Ofc I can’t want it at home because of my conservative Muslim family. Chicken overall however is tasty and healthy.

Try duck breast with skin on(make it crispy).

Used to be pork sausages.

Completely gave up meat though, to cut my carbon footprint and refuse to cooperate with factory farming.

Beef - Eye fillet and T-bone steaks done medium are my favourite cuts
Pork - Baby back BBQ pork ribs

Mine used to be mutton but gave up a decade ago not coz of carbon footprint coz I don’t really have so much sympathy for humans as such but coz animals.

If factory farming is an issue then you don’t drink milk too?

That's one for the bucket list. Yeah.

I want to try duck meat, camel meat, elk meat, and deer meat.

I also want to try camel meat but I heard it’s fatty. Maybe I’ll mix some bison meat and smoke some burgers. Deer meat is available during winter times. I had deer jerky( colleague of mine went for hunting and brought some jerky).
Elk meat available in Toronto?

I used to eat children a lot (mostly grilled/barbecued). But from the last few months , I have developed a special liking for sheep/mutton.

The autocorrect on that one really took it to next level :))

Used to eat non veg but since last one year turned vegetarian. But used to love chicken & mutton.

I learned about elk meat from Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmare. Since then, I wanted to try it. I don't know if it is available in Toronto.

Non veg is one weird term

It’s veg or normal

Home cooked mutton is my favourite. But then again, I have only had few types of meat.

Come from a veggie delight family though we'd eat fish occasionally.

Generally liked chicken. Andhra preparations are generally spicy and nice.

Liked beef whenever I've eaten it and make it a point to eat wherever possible, just to stick one to Masterji and his followers.

What the... You've had A Camel.

Masterji? Ramchandra mission ? They used to call the head as masterji, am assuming you meant BJP here lol.

Bro, nothing like lamb/mutton for me. 10x better than any other form of meat for me.

I think mutton was what I meant!:)):)) Red meat is damaging for health I hear so have greatly reduced it.

It’s funny how the price of mutton has been increasing every year here in my state of Assam. 10 years ago, the price was Rs. 300 for a kg. Now 10 years later, the price is Rs. 600 for a kg.

I think that is fair if you consider how in past ten years prices of other things have went up too. My last visit to India in 2009, I had McChicken and if I remember correctly I paid about Rs 50-60 and now I heard it cost more than Rs 500.

VadaPav now cost Rs 50 in Mumbai. I still remember paying Rs 3

Name me a dish better than beef nihari, I'll wait.

On a happy and alive animal living his life with his mates.

Eating meat is the worst sin.

That just your preference, I’d say an Authentic Delhi style Butter Chicken is probably best Indian food out there.

There is a distinct separation between Indian cuisine and Pakistani cuisine....

Never liked Goat. Too chewy. Chicken is my fav.

Did u try mutton seek kebab, not that chewy and very spicy should easily go for Telugu American taste..

its the only thing i have craved or missed since going vegetarian.

And yet many Pakistani restaurants in GTA market it as if its one and the same. I kinda agree, Indian cuisine has its own distinct flavours.

Reminds me of some sheek kababs I used to gorge on in South Bengaluru - Jayanagar. Until someone suggested that the great taste had something to do with the thriving street dog population in the area :kp

Many used to in the past, but recently I have seen Pakistani restaurants marketing themselves specifically as Pakistani.

Lol , don’t trust everything you hear but most rumors i have heard only in Bangalore, even the Muslim friends of mine used to say don’t eat in “that” restaurant they put beef lol.

Shivaji nagar always remarkable to me.

If you ever go to Buffalo, make sure to go to Clay Handi , it advertises itself as Pakistani and cooks and serves in claypot, such an authentic restaurant and defn family owned.

Even at midnight people came there and after Dinner were drinking tea, which was made fresh , lol.

This is something that does the rounds every once in a while here in Bangalore. I kinda backed off from eating mutton in restaurants after hearing this lol.

On topic, I tasted beef but didnt particularly like it. I like pork but only if it's made by my northeast or coorgi friends. Favourite has to be seafood though. Absolutely love it. Mutton a close second.

My friends never liked sea food in Bangalore though, most of em preferred their coastal areas , I think it’s about difference in lake and sea.

One of the best veg meals i had was in Go karna, bollywood tried to destroy the image of the place too but luckily it survived , Karnataka’s tourism is underrated.

What did they do. Was it featured in some movie?

Dum Maaro Dum , they tried to show it as a druggie place because Goa was shut down lol.

Oh ok. I used to regularly go there until about 5 years back when it started to get too populated and turn into a micromini Goa. Too small a place to accommodate the changes.

But the drug thing is actually true. The beach rave parties were quite the thing for years.

A few years back, locals thrashed a group of foreigners on Om beach and many of them have since migrated to Himachal.

If you climbed up the hills to the left of the main Gokarna beach, just above the temple, you'd find Cast Away kind of bearded folk emerging from bushes and whatnot :))

Apologies. I meant seafood from Kerala/Mangalore. Seafood in Bangalore is not that good. Yeah Karnataka has some stunning places to visit. Agree totally with that. :)

No offence but I have only seen one or two who might be doing it. But most still market “Pakistani & Indian”. I could give you many examples...
JaDed Nikhil_cric don’t you guys find Mutton(Goat) have bad after taste or perhaps the smell? We often buy Veal or Lamb. Better alternative with similar price

Never had pork(knowingly), but once I had ribs thought it was Beef, and I really enjoyed it. Later, chef informed me it was Pork Ribs :(

Lmao , loved Om beach went in 2007 college trip, couldn’t believe a place like that existed on mainland India..

It has another beach nearing some Shiv temple which was super dirtyy

Maybe it's the smell. Some folks can't seem to stand it. Taste is alright if prepared wel but it varies from person to person I suppose.

Yes I also like Seekh Kebab which if I’m not wrong was made from Buffalo mince(Beef). That’s what I remember during my time in India. My family had farm business, and we would sell the young male carf after a year or so to restaurant or food distributors( since raising male buffalo at times wouldn’t be economically viable)

Have you tried Kaleji? Apparently if you marinate overnight and cook over charcoal, then it’s probably best thing out there. Ofc. Served with mint chutney

I just had the Goat biryani at friends house and I just couldn’t stand the smell and taste. But you’re right some folks like it whereas some like me prefer other meat.

Btw in seafood what you like most?

I don’t like Kaleji, not even the chicken one, my parents used to force me to eat it as a child along with Fish, something absolutely weird about the taste.

Since my family in India never had beef so no beef seekhs, we used to have mostly mutton ones, the best i had were in Delhi.

Lamb Chops
Beef Chapli Kebab
