As the title says what is your favorite memory of India vs Pakistan matches.

Mine is of 1st March 2003. India vs Pakistan WC match at centurion.

I had a semester exam of Mathematics of 1st year in Engineering that day and our hostel had organized a large screen in auditorium to view cricket on projector.

I wrote the exam just to get one more than pass marks(25/60.. could have scored 60/60 if not for the match).

Its just one particular shot, Sachin vs Akram.
First over i think 3rd or 4th ball Tendulkar on backfoot cracking a four to covers and the holding his pose. I knew then and there India is winning that match. And Afridi's birthday.
Whats yours ??

Had a think about the fond memories of watching legends battle it out in the late nineties and through out the 2000's.

Have many fond memories alhumdullilah - Afridis 100 in 2005, Afridis heroics in the Asia Cup, Akhtar Vs Tendulkar, the Pak Vs Ind ODI in 2003 in Karachi, the "Aane Do" series etc.

However, if I have to go for one moment/memory it has to be this:

The players.

The stage.

The occasion.

The crowd.

The atmosphere.

As a Pakistani fan it was just perfect alhumdullilah. The 2 ball rollercoaster perfectly summarised what it means to be a Pakistani cricket fan.

As an Indian fan, it’s the 2003 WC match and the 1996 WC match.

as a fan of india I would say mohali 2011 and 1985 champions trophy (different name).

as a Pakistani I would say it has to be 2017 champions trophy.

all the other Pepsi, coco cola, sharjah games were just glorified bilaterals and pretty much worthless. Just a tester for finding out the right combination.

Favorite memory is 2003 WC Centurion. Distant second will be the 2007 T20 final. Mohali was emotionally taxing, didn't enjoy it because my nerves were shot. Instead of 'favorite', had you asked 'memorable', I would have said Mohali. It wasn't just a WC SF, only those who lived through that week, lead-up, match, post-match will know what I am trying to say. The hype around that match was something we might never see again in a cricket match.

Previous post was related to my emotions, how happy I was after the match etc. But purely based on quality, my favorite is 2004 Karachi ODI. That heralded a new era in ODI cricket.

Independence Cup Final 1998

World record chase in light drizzle & inadequate floodlights. Stunning innings from Anwar & Ijaz to set up target of 315. Followed by determined chase anchored by Ganguly & Robin Singh. Capped off by slog sweep for 4 of Saqlain by Hrishikesh Kanitkar with just 1 ball to go

For me the best India vs Pakistan ODI I have watched ( was not born for that 1986 ODI in Sharjah )

In T20s - its definitely 2007 final. A match that kept swinging to & fro & ended with a six & a miscued scoop in final over

2004 Samsung Cup was pretty memorable. Match #1 was a classic.

Pakistan really should've won that game.

I normally dislike runfests but the 1st ODI of the 2004 series is my favourite ODI of all time. Firstly the hype for that series was amazing, it was the first bilateral series since 1999 and the first encounter since the WC match in Centurion.

For Pakistan to come so close to chasing 350, unimaginable in those days, was insane with Inzamam and Yousuf launching a furious assault on Indian attack.

The atmosphere was also the best I've ever heard - when Razzaq hits that six onto the roof of NSK the crowd loses the minds as we came closer to the target.

Kaif pulls off a catch nearly killing himself, and then there's one last irony - Pakistan needs a six off the last ball - and Javed Miandad was our coach in the stands having to watch !

The crowd then gave the Indians a standing ovation, reciprocating the gesture of the Chennai crowd in 1999. I still get chills reliving that match.

Bump 18 years since this wonderful game - what amazing memories :)

Dont know about match. A couple of friends went to Lahore, multan and karachi for 20024 series and they said The love and atmosphere in that series was un paralled. They said they did'nt do much cricket viewing instead spent time viewing the sights -especially in lahore. What they described to me was perhaps the most special and memorable, maybe not directly cricketing.

Obviously, either CT 2017 Final or T20 WC 2021, why would any Pakistani choose anything different?
