The competition is getting tougher each day with the emergence of Shaheen and Abbas.

My choice

Amir
Hasan
Shaheen
Faheem
Abbas/Junaid (depends on who does well in SA)

Your pick?

Amir
Hasan
Shaheen
Faheem
Abbas/Junaid
Nasim/Arshad/Hasnain/Musa (Surprise factor)

Shaheen
Abbas
Faheem
Hasan/Amir/Junaid
(Someone from PSL who performs good) or Musa.

Shaheen
Amir
Hasan
Faheem
Junaid

I don't rate Junaid Khan but he's better than Shinwari and Rumman. I hope someone like Musa can burst into PSL and stiffen the competition further by taking JK's spot, so that the likes of Amir and Hasan are well aware that their places are not guaranteed but subject to merit.

Shaheen Afridi
Usman Khan
Hasan Ali
Junaid Khan/Mohammad Amir
Faheem Ashraf

I still think Amir has more to do in domestic to earn a recall whereas Junaid is quite injury prone.

Amir
Hassan
Junaid
Rumaan
Afridi

This is what it should/would be realistically speaking.

The team should be as follows unless something drastic happens from now till then realistically speaking.

1. Fakhar
2. Imam-ul-haq
3. Babar Azam
4. Sarfraz Ahmad
5. Malik
6. Hafeez
7. Shadab
8. Faheem/Imad (depending on conditions)
9. Amir
10. Hasan Ali
11. Shaheen Shah

Malik can’t play pace and sarfraz can’t hold a bat. He’s always been crap. He’s so lucky to avoid scrutiny of his batting. I’d drop malik for haris as the world cups in England and malik can’t play on such pace wickets. That way we have 4 specialist batsman. With sarfraz at 5 and Hafeez at 6. Rumaan is so useful in England he sucks ghe life out of the oppositions innings so well.

Shaheen Shah
Sadaf Hussain
Hasan ali
Mohammad Abbas/ Usman shinwari
Fahim ashraf

Mohammad Amir
Junaid Khan
Hasan Ali
Shaheen Shah Afridi
Faheem Ashraf

UKS or M Abbas to replace if anyone of them performs poorly before WC or gets injured.

We'll have to play 3 front-line pacers on England pitches with Faheem/Imad as 4th option & Shadab as main spinner. Hafeez/Malik/Haris can easily chip in 4-6 overs in every match. I'll go with:

1. Amir
2. Shaheen
3. Hasan
4. Junaid
5. Rumman/Shinwari (given who performs better vs. England in our last ODI series before WC)

These 3 are definite picks:

Amir
Hasan
Faheem

Debateable:

Shaheen
Junaid
Abbas/Raees

It will be interesting to see if we bring back amir and if abbas gets to play ODIs. They should have given him angame or two by now if he was in the world cup plans.

Why is Faheem a definite pick? He averages 39 with the ball if you take out Zimbabwe and Hong Kong

Because he will definitely be playing in the WC19 for sure that's why I put him there. Plus he is improving it looks like.

I have more faith in Hasan Ali delivering with the bat than Faheem. Total waste of space.

Just another Bilawal Bhatti

Amazing how so many are putting Abbas in the World Cup squad. This is ODI's, not Tests and his record in List A is nothing special and has yet to play a single ODI game.

Mine would be:

Amir
Hasan
Shaheen
Faheem
Usman/Junaid

SSA, Amir, Hasan, Faheem, UKS/Junaid (whoever is more in form). If for some reason 2-3 of these players get injured, then fly Abbas over (although I hope that wouldn't be the case).

My 11 for worldcup

Imam
Fakhar
Babar
Hafeez
Malik
Sarfraz
Shadab
Imad/faheem
Amir
Hasan
Shaheen

Would love to have asif ali but not sure who would he replace

Shaheen Shah
Sadaf Hussain
Hasan ali
Mohammad Abbas/ Usman shinwari
Fahim ashraf

This. Plus Junaid. He had a bad game against NZ but was excellent in the Asia Cup, and simply excellent in the CT. Foolish not to bring him if he is still in form.

Shinwari averages 15 in ODIs, has taken 5fers already, which Amir has never done, deserves more chances. An outright match winner

The other question is; why is no one even asking about spinners?

Did anyone notice that India's success, including the series victory against South Africa, in South Africa, is built around their spin attack?

Did anyone notice our success in ODIs in the CT, and the most recent win against NZ, was built around a relentless mid overs choke by the spinners? Shadab's form is encouraging but we should be looking to try out Saud's and Hari's spin more. A mid order built around Malik and Moha is very weak.

I don't disagree about Abbas, but, is Amir's record in ODIs anything special?
Also, form. Abbas at the moment is bowling like The Terminator.

I would be tempted to play Abbas in South Africa especially with junaid injured and see what he does if he performs well then play him till the world cup starts if he does well with new ball and also old ball then he should be the one guy along with Amir(a bowler made for big tournaments), Hasan, Shaheen, shinwari/junaid and faheem as fast bowling rounder.

Amir, Shaheen, Hasan, Shinwari/Roman, Abbas. Abbas must be brought into the team during SA ODI's to see how quickly he can adapt. He will be a real wild card with the new ball. Shinwari can really swing the ball but Roman Raees is a lot more intelligent bowler with more variation. Faheem should come in under all rounder with two spinners, sarfraz and 7 batsman in the team.

Starters: Amir, Hasan and Junaid
Bench: Shaheen and Shinwari
All-rounder: Faheem

This is subject to change of course. If Abbas can replicate his test form in ODIs (and you'd imagine that he'll be given a shot in LOIs soon enough), he'll waltz right into the team as an opening bowler.

My two spinners will be Shadab and Imad. No one else seems to be lighting up the domestic circuit so might as well go with spinners who can also bat a bit.

That leaves eight spots for the batsmen and keeper-batsmen in the 16-man WC squad.

Amir, Hasan and Shaheen.

Would have been a mediocre bowling but Shaheen's inclusion has transformed this to a very good bowling attack.

Rest are mediocre, not a fan of Faheem either. He is mediocre IMO. I would have Shadab and Imam but Faheem gives the fast bowling option. So, that position is yet to be worked on.

Amir, Hasan, Shaheen and Shadab. That's four names.

Babar, Fakhar, Sarfaraz(captain),Hafeez(due to his bowling). That's again four names.

Eight names are guaranteed. Rest Pak has to find out.
