Now that the World XI squad is announced, What should be the Pakistani Team for the first match or Squad for this series?
 
I say we bring in Afridi. He'll pull massive crowds. Don't know if all three games can be jam-packed otherwise.

You don't need Afridi to pull the crowds.

We saw that with a low key Zimbabwe side.You had full houses against Zimbabwe and you can image what will happen when World XI will tour there.People have been deprived of seeing internatinal stars.This is the moment for them.They will go irrespective of the players.

All three games will be jam packed irrespective of Afridi plays or not, this is such a big occasion for us Pakistani fans that International stars are coming to play in Pakistan after such a long time, almost everyone who can, will go and watch this match.

I would like Amir to be rested for this series, Usman Khan Shinwari should be played. There is a busy schedule ahead for Pakistan resting Amir would be a good idea.

Maybe someone else can be tried instead of Ahmed Shehzad.

Amir has plenty of opportunity to rest, 12 overs over 3 days is probably less work than a net session

this is a landmark occasion, we absolutely need our best out there playing

the only point of contention is Shehzad, I think they've had enough of him after the CT

they can either bring in someone like Kamran Akmal again (which hopefully they dont), or continue the momentum from CT and keep going young

too bad Umar Akmal threw this hissy fit, he would have had a very high chance of making it to this team

No need to rest him now, this is such a big occasion and I am sure every Pakistani would want to see a star play.

Won't be a bad idea if PCB gives a farewell to ex-players. Anyways, these are T20s, who cares for the outcome?

I don't want Afridi in this team.... He has retired that's it.......
But seriously it hurt me when he couldn't play in PSL2 final..... Crowd was going mad whenever his picture appeared on big screen
 
I think, it's 3 match series - one of the matches (Preferably 1st one), I would like to see this line-up

4. MoYo (If he is minimum fit to play, otherwise this spot goes to Mian Malik)

These players have served PAK for long years, but hardly has got the chance to play in front of home crowd - they deserve the chance to say bye to their home fans. YK, Misbah, Ajmal, Afridi, Gul, Tannu, Malik had been instrumental in the 1st 2 WCs that PAK made the Final, this little they do deserve.

PAK might lose the match (not sure though, looking at the World XI also), but this'll be a great gesture from PCB. Would have loved to add MoHa in this list as well, but he might decline to take the offer for the sake of serving PAK cricket for another decade.
 
News channels reporting Wahab dropped from squad. Fahim, yamin, shinwari, sher khan, nawaz included. No akmals.

Fakhar Zaman and Afridi as openers!? Sahibzada Farhan should also be given a chance as opener if not vs World XI then surely against srilanka.

Reports indicate that Hafeez will be dropped for Independence Cup... Nothing concrete.... Just rumours till now.

This looks pretty good to me. Aggressive batsmen and a few good strike rotators, eg Sarfraz, Fakhar. Either Hafeez or Malik but not both. Faheem absolutely needs to get more chances to show what he is made of. And I would bat Shadab ahead of Imad.

Since the squad has been announced, and Sahibzada ain't there, replace him with Amin, Babar opens, Afridi at 3, Malik at 4 and Amin at 5

They didn't select enough batsmen in the squad. All the specialist batsmen will play most likely.

The squad isn't particularly balanced. Selected so many bowling options and allrounders when 4 out of 5 places (Imad, Shadab, Amir, Hasan) are already locked down. Think it's perhaps they didn't think they had much to choose from. Kamran's out, Hafeez has been failing in T20s for years so justifiably out, Umar Akmal's out for fitness reasons, I think there are still concerns about Haris's fitness to play (and/or worries about him being cut out for T20s), and guys like Maqsood and Rizwan seem out of the picture for now (especially the former). Not much else to choose from, except Sahibdaza perhaps but I can understand why he isn't picked, very young and very little domestic experience and zero domestic T20 experience.

It's funny I think with our current resources all three of Sharjeel, Khalid Latif and Shahzaib would be in the squad if they were available. Shows how foolish they were (if they are guilty). Apart from Fakhar none of the guys in the squad are particularly aggressive/big hitters/fast scorers. We lack those type of players in T20s these days.
