Today Zafar Gohar is making debut in international cricket. This thread is to watch his performance at international level. I hope he will justify his selection by performing good.

Looks extremely good. This guy is gonna be a great LOI bowler
Oh god. The hype begins. Give him time![]()
It's not hype. It's a prediction. The guy looks really good. I don't say this about a lot of guys. And almost everyone I predict to be good ends up being pretty good.
Promising. Never expect any spinner to be wonderful at 20 years of age as spinners need experience more than anyone else but he has some serious talent. Combined with a promising batting ability, and we have a very good prospect here. Need to be patient and keep expectations in check though, he's very, very young.
Is he better than Raza Hasan?

The lack of control is probably due to nerves. Come on people; its his first game.
Massive miss not playing him in the tests
Raza Hasan 2012 was better obv, but this is the kid's first game, give him time.

He was not consistent with line and length for two simple reasons:
1. Lack of experience; he is only in his 20s.
2. Nerves - which tend to take over your abilities.
He contributed with the bat - took 2 wickets - batsmen at times could not read him; all promising signs which will boost his confidence and aid his 'development' as a player.
It is good and a relief that PCB have given a spinner chance early in his career instead latter stages of their careers; such as Ajmal or Shah. Hopefully, he will learn with time - so expect mistakes. He is still developing and he will grow and become a more polished player soon.
The bonus is that he can field and also can become a good handy batsmen. Good stuff. Consistency is key now; also PCB must use their 'brains' in developing him; not do a Sami Aslam and drop him immediately.

Even with Danishs variations he was a mediocre ODI bowler. Also; him being exposed so early in his career is a blessing. Rather see him learn the game early then when he hits peak. It is crucial he develops/dares to deliver his variations early in his career so later in his career (when he has peaked) it becomes one of his deadly weapons.
One stark difference between Shah and Kaneria was the amount of variations and change of pace Kaneria had to offer; this improved because of the amount of cricket was exposed to him. If Yasir Shah today had variations near the level of Kaneria or had he been exposed early in the team; then he would have been a complete effective spinner - right now, lack of variations or dare to deliver them is restricting him in becoming a top class spinner, and lack of variations from him effecting him is evident in ODI's.
Has potential, especially with the amount of revs he puts on the ball but seems a bit raw atm.TalentSpotterPk axl100mph hehehe
Taste the humble pie beta.Has potential, especially with the amount of revs he puts on the ball but seems a bit raw atm.
If he improves his control and perfects the straighter one, then he can be cery valuable since he has impressive batting talent
I erred in my judgement a tad but I still believe he has to improve his control.Taste the humble pie beta.
His control is fine, dew factor and little bit of debut nerves. Was erring in length, not line which means ball was slipping out of his hands.

The dew is an excuse. I didnt see malik struggling with his length. If dew was so much of a bother, then the ball would not have gripped and spun.
Even the pacers were landing it where they wanted

Not going to argue over it. Let's see where he's at 10 games in.
