Amazing team!

The most inspirational story in the history of cricket how they became a cricket force from nothing despite the challenges they had to face like terrorism, political instability etc

Winning the WC in 1996
First Asian Team to beat Pak in Pak in Tests.
Winning the Asia Cup on numerous occasions (way more than even Pakistan)
Now the first Asian Team to beat SA in SA, a task thought to be impossible by most cricket posters.

This victory is much much more memorable than IND in AUS simply because it's against such a good SA side that completely thrashed PAK and Won against IND

Though they had a very rough patch after Sangas retirement they are recovering and showing the world why they will always be one of the best sides in the world.

On the other hand the likes of Zimbabwe and BD despite getting much more opportunities even after 20+ years of test status have almost nil away victories and ICC tournaments to boast of.Both teams combined don't even have half the number of great cricketers Lanka has produced.

They can a learn a thing or two from the Lankan tigers.

Long Live Sri Lanka!

Lala, forget BD and Afghans. Pakistan can learn a lot from SL.

Pakistan was recently whitewashed by SA, but look how SL beat SA, truly amazing.

The currently awful Test team that is Pakistan should be the first team to learn from Sri Lanka.

And how about Pakistan? Hilarious thread!

I think, ZIM should be exempted from this great thread - they were in right direction until things got Robert Mughabed there.

It’s only Bangladesh and we have definitely lot to learn from Lanka. Almost 1/10 population and couple of decades of civil war, still the country is surprising everyone. And, remarkable that all of their superstars are their domestic products- from Mendis, Dias to Arjuna, Hari, Sanath, Murali, Vaas, Sanga, Mahela, Dilshan, Herath, Angelo ... none of them played in Counties before turning 27, when they were already complete they international cricketers.

I have absolutely no shame to admit that they miles ahead of us and each Bangladeshi including BCB do agree that - at least a dozen Lanka coaches are working with BCB well in different levels. I was always hopeful about a Lanka revival in cricket and they did that on field, instead of boasting in blogs about talent like some Bangladeshis here. We have actually lot to learn from them off the field as well.

Congrats to every Srilankan posters here to teach us a great lesson.

I do feel that exit of Jayawardene and Sangakarra has been a blessing in disguise for Lanka as these new players are able to express themselves much better than while they were in a team led by 2 superstars, who never believed in grooming youngsters.

Which was the team that South Africa whitewashed at home in a 3 Test series prior to their loss against Sri Lanka? And we need to keep in mind that Pakistan has historically been a far better team than Sri Lanka.

It's hilarious that a Pakistan fan is patronizing Bangladesh and Zimbabwe :))
