Zimbabwe vs Pakistan | Tri-Series: 1st T20I | Harare | Jul 1, 2018 | Pakistan innings

Talat is a look busy do nothing guy... im not writing him off but he's clearly playing the wrong format.. more suited to the longer version of the game I feel. Just need to play simple cricket really , always looks like he's trying too hard..

He’s just not playing proper shots. Idk why he looks to dab most balls down to third man.

The order has been restored. This is the real Sarfraz, not the one we saw in Scotland.

We've been dependent on Malik recently for big hitting in the middle overs. He has a strong record in Zimbabwe.

Bit of a shambles so far ! Calm down with the running.

That is true, but once your learning curve is over, you are done. You cannot teach old dogs new tricks, and that is why people like Azhar and Shafiq are mediocre after nearly a decade at the top level.
Azhar always lacked the natural ability and Shafiq’s issues are to do with him having zero spine.

Talat, from his interviews and the way he carries himself, looks a confident man; and clearly he has the potential to succeed at this level.

Sharjeel at the tender age of 28-29 completely transformed as a batsman under a professional setup, and there’s nothing stopping Talat to do the same except himself.

Why y'all worried? Pak. literally got batting til 10 and only 9 overs left.

Too early to say he transformed himself. For all we know, the Australian series could have been a fluke. He got a lot of boundary balls and was not able to convert his starts into something big.

Could very easily have been back to square one after that series, and I think he would have struggled in Tests.

Talat has been exposed. Let’s see how Shaheen fares, but we can have better hopes from our bowlers.
He hasn’t been exposed- he’s simply shown that he’s not the finished product (again, something you can’t expect with Pakistani bats fresh at the international level) and still requires work (which is what many on here suspected).

We really need couple of quick solid batters and not to play them all formats. Inzi is just not doing his job properly.

There is a 99.9% chance that he will never be a top player. That is how it works for our batsmen.

Fitness issues aside, which I believe was a major contributor to his poor temperament. He went from swiping across the line every second ball to presenting the full face of the bat and playing calculated strokes- bear in mind these adjustments were made within only 6 or so months under a professional setup.

And I’m not expecting him to be a top player (if by top pleather you mean in ranks of Kohli, Root etc.) nor do the majority on here.

Well done Fakhar - job is not done yet though. Keep going for another few overs.

Kyle Jarvis seems to have injured his bowling hand while attempting a catch.Could be a big loss for Zimbabwe.

I've never seen Fakhar complete the full quota of overs. Not a good sign if you are an opener.

Good bowing from Chisoro - pick of the bowlers.

Hoping for at least 30 off these last 3 overs.

Rotate strike is bigger problem for our batsmen. Asif is like Shehzad and rely heavy on big hits.

Is 165 good enough to defend???

Should be especially with our spinners. Zimbabwe aren't great players of spin.

Also this is a team missing 5 top batsmen in Taylor, Raza, Ervine, Williams and Cremer.

World class against weak opposition, nothing special against top opposition. Wouldnt have played for 19 years for a top nation.
What is your views about Asif Ali?

No hacking or mishits - this is proper clean hitting from Asif Ali that Pakistan have been desperate for.

Muzarabani is still very raw. He was called up from Tatenda Taibu's Rising Star Academy which is a development squad based in the UK, now a FC team in ZIM.

He's tall and has some pace but in white ball cricket you need to develop variations. He can be expensive.

Let's hold our horses here. We've only seen Asif smash part-timers thus far. Not anything special.

Wth was this innings from Malik. Faheem can do 2x as better. Could've got 200 easily here, but I guess it'll be good enough.

Excellent partnership between Malik and Ali.

152 is the average 1st inns T20I score at Harare and given our bowling strength this will be a tough chase for Zimbabwe.

Mire and Chibhabha are both part-timers. They rarely even complete their quota.

Even Zimbabwe's frontline bowlers are no better than part timers to be honest. This sluggish pitch has made them look decent. On a flat pitch i would back a decent batting line up to score 250 against them in a t20.
