he's played for all three top italian teams

that's some achievement

he's won so many titles with many different clubs

class player

dont these players in the serie a have any deen imaan

i know several players who have played for inter milan, ac milan and/or juventus. Pirlo, Ibra, Zambrotta Inzaghi come to mind. There must be several others.

If this happened in England (liverpool, Man united) or Spain (Real, barca) then the whole footballing world would be up in arms and the player would be vilified for life

^

So many players make that switch, it's become a part of the way Serie A works. :))

They have become immune to such switching of players between arch rivals.

In this game , There never was a zlatan , and will never come another in future .... like Zidane , he is in some other class of his own ... indeed as AZ said very rare technique and can be nightmare to stiffest of the defense lines ...

Good player but very over-rated. Never showed up to the big party. Probably about right for a player like him to score 100 goals in a league like Serie A.

^
He tends to switch off at times and seems bored but he is outrageously talented and definitely in the class of Ronaldo and Messi.

He is just a moody angry person

btw he has won the league title for 8 years in a row.

1 with Ajax
2 with Juve
3 with Inter
1 with Barca
1 with Milan

all in consecutive seasons

that would be the equivalent of 250 goals in England.

Anyone who thinks Ibra is in class of Ronaldo and Messi is kidding themselves. This is what I am talking about over-rated. He is not even within Rooney's class, at least Rooney has won a CL and scores when his team needs him.

Ibra strikes me a bit of a big-time charlie, that is why he has moved four or five times in the past 6-7 years.

Serie A is a shadow of itself. A player like Ibra would dominate that league and be made out to look better than he is.

Great player but i dont understand these guys, playing for inter and then moving to ac

Money. Sadly that's how football rolls these days.

Before back in the days [during Geordie's days :yk ], it was considered as a somewhat 'crime' to be moving to a different which was considered a rivarl club to the current club you were at.

Of course, the odd moments of players moving to a rival side did indeed happen - but it was not common and often came across as a massive shock, it was considered unusual back them.

However now sadly it's too common - players don't even think before they move.

He might not be in the class of Messi or Ronaldo, but he is a entertaining guy. The Afridi of football. Just read his book, it was a good read.

^ some sportsmen are in class of their own ... cant be compared to any other player ... ibra will be remembered as most skillful and odd technique player of his era ...

Can people stop insulting Messi and Ronaldo? Here are two guys who stand up when needed. Ibra's record in the CL is not only bad but appalling. I tihnk the only goals he has scored in the knockout stage was for Barca vs Arsenal...otherwise very useless. Messi and Ronaldo have both led their teams to CL success (as well as scoring 40+ goals a season now).

Is Ibrahimovic's Goal the Best Ever

A lot of people saying that it is the best goal they have ever seen.

Others saying that Maradona's in 1986 against England was better or Van Basten's in the European Championships.

It's right up there.

The Roberto Carlos one was quite memorable.

[utube]7JLkI7AUFo0[/utube]

Yep, still Beckham against Wimbledon for me. A legendary goal to begin a great career.

Some quality mentions in here already though; Van Basten '88 is up there. Ibra's gets into the top ten. He himself has another mazy candidate from his days at Ajax:

[utube]ZgqsaDnsEq8[/utube]

[UTUBE]PIiX7R6XBxo[/UTUBE]

That was a CLASSIC.

But the problem with this goal and Ibrahimovic's is that it was an open goal and all they had to do was get the ball on target.

Therefore for me, Ronaldos 40 yards stunner against Porto still ranks the highest because of the power and accuracy he hit it with and the goal keeper was on his line and could do nothing to stop it.

Maradona's was a different type of goal because he dribbled past numerous players. The other goals are wonderful strikes.

Ibrahimovic's goal is nowhere near as good as Rivaldo's against Valencia IMO.

Barcelona needed to beat Valencia in the last game of the season to qualify for the champions league.
With the scores tied at 3-3, in the last minute a long ball is sent to Rivaldo (who is standing outside of the penalty area), he controls it with his chest and does a bicycle kick with a huge amount of power and curl and beats the goalkeeper. Watch the replay @ 0:55. Truly amazing.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=is6ZLTe2CLw&feature=related

Ibrahimovic's goal was partly the goalkeeper's fault and in a meaningless friendly.

Best is difficult - but definitely up there. Van Basten's was special too....they all are.

Best goals are when the Defenders and Keepers do everything right, but still get it wrong. (Maradona's goal is a superb example).

Beating a keeper who made a mistake doesn't rank anywhere near the best.

Plus, the goal was a freak fluke.

This is the only thread I could find on Ibra ...

[utube]HAH8GicUtN0[/utube]

He's like a Balotelli ... except he can actually play :afridi

Quality striker, but kind of overrated because he isn't as good as Falcao, Cavani and Lewandowski.

Lewandowski is certainly debatable but how is he better than Falcao and Cavani?

Because...he's better. I was under the impression that, barring the utter mentals like Amir, ITV and Sky Sports, everybody just knew this?

And for the record:

Zlatan > Cavani > Falcao > Lewandowski

Because...he's better. I was under the impression that, barring the utter mentals like Amir, ITV and Sky Sports, everybody just knew this?

No he isn't. He has improved a lot over the last 3 years but he as been over-hyped to the moon for a long time now. Fantastic last season and in his last one with Milan, but there's still a question over his performances in the big games.

I will put him at number 4 in the world as far as strikers go.

Suarez
Falcao
Cavani
Ibrahimovic

Like I said, I personally prefer Lewandowski and I think he will be better than him very soon if he isn't already but at the moment, maybe Ibrahimovic has the edge over him.

I will take Falcao's 28 in 33 la liga goals over his 30 in 33 goals in Ligue 1, a considerably weaker league than la Liga even though Spanish defenses are dodgy.

A league where Ibrahimovic under performed because he couldn't deal with the fact that a guy 7 years younger than him was twice the player he was ever going to be.

Suarez for me is the third best attacker in the world after Messi and Ronaldo.

He has all the killer instinct of Falcao, Ibrahimovic, Cavani etc but there is also a top quality winger and CAM inside him.

Ibrahimovic is a technical marvel. Has scored some outrageous goals but for the most part of his career, he has been a scorer of great goals rather than a great goal scorer. He is one now for sure.

PSG is a perfect fit for him. He's a big fish in a small pond kinda guy because his unusual skill set makes it difficult for most teams to integrate him into their system and instead you have to change your system for him and built the team around him.

PSG could afford to do that but not teams like Madrid, Bayern, Dortmund, City etc who have abundance of quality elsewhere. You don't play in Ligue 1 if you are wanted by the best in Spain, England and Germany.

And it would be nice if he ends this world tour and settles in one club instead of packing his bags after every season to go on a new adventure. Ligue 1 isn't in the best place for a long term future and I'm sure he knows this.

BPL is the only major league left because Bundesliga is out of question. He won't move to any other team barring Munich and BVB who won't buy him even for free because his style doesn't suit them. Not to ignore his beef with Guardiola.

Won't mind him at Arsenal, ridiculously big upgrade over Giroud but he'd be a cancer to the dressing room.

Says a lot about his quality when a goal every 2 games in a team that is built around another players = under-performing. And that champions league defeat to Inter that year was all on Pep Guardiola. they sign Ibra so they have a physical presence in the box as a plan B but as Inter droppe deeper and deeper Barca continued to tiki-taka pointlessly around the box, ignoring Ibra and refusing to put in any crosses until Guardiola took Ibra off, stuck Pique up front and suddenly they started to lump the ball into the box and got a goal for their efforts. If Guardiola wasn't so stubborn in trying to prove a point with Zlatan they'd have beaten Inter.

He's dragged some average teams to the league, almost single handedly in some cases even though every opponent knew the other 10 players were all looking to give him the ball every chance they got. Won the league 8 years in a row, with 5 clubs across 3 different nations and now he's added Ligue 1 to that resume as well. Guess there were no big games involved in any of those league campaigns.

Last day of the season, Inter need a win away at Parma to become champions. Zlatan hasn't played in a couple of months because of a knee injury but comes on in the second half and wins the title on one leg:

<iframe width="640" height="480" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/Em3TOhqgQyU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Another small game:

<iframe width="853" height="480" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/xdYaEzSKNAY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Yet another meaningless goal in a meaningless game:

<iframe width="853" height="480" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/AeXKyj2ggwM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

etc etc

Look, Zlatan's playing style is contrast to that of Barca's. They like quick one touch passing while he prefers to hold up the ball. What did he expect? they'd change their style for him.

Its was clear since 2008-2009 that their team was going to be built around Messi.

Where are Ibrahimovic's performances in the big Champions League games?

I remember a 2-2 draw at the Emirates, he got the 2 goals but he was the only reason why that match was a draw because I've lost count of the number of sitters he missed prior to the two goals.

Very great player but overrated because he's not in the same league as Messi and Ronaldo as some people consider him to be.

If the report i read like 2 days ago was correct, wenger saying ibrah is the best player in world and he's done that at age 32.

I can remember the reports always saying wenger asked his agent for a trial (can't remember what age, sure before ajax got him- he was still at malmo) at arsenal - but his agent came out saying arrogantly "he doesn't do auditions".
always thought wenger would have been perfect for him - him & henry together (Really the only striker in ages who imo suited the 3 big leagues since brazillian ronaldo).

IMO:
IBRAH - Just ahead
Suarez

Cavani&Falcao - ill hae these joint, falcoa is a better more natural finisher but cavani is faster and underrated at freekicks

It was said by Ibra himself.

Ibra is fourth best attacker after Messi, Ronaldo and King Suarez.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic: Chelsea players acted like "babies"

Chelsea's players acted like "babies" during the incident that led to Zlatan Ibrahimovic's red card on Wednesday, the Paris St-Germain striker says.

The Swede was sent off for a tackle on Oscar after 31 minutes but PSG survived the last hour of normal time and extra time to knock Chelsea out of the Champions League last 16 on away goals.
"When I got the red card all the Chelsea players come around," he said.

"It felt like I had a lot of babies around me."

Blues players surrounded Dutch referee Bjorn Kuipers following Ibrahimovic's lunging tackle on Brazilian midfielder Oscar.

"I don't know if I have to get angry or start to laugh. For me when I saw the red card I was like 'the guy doesn't know what he's doing'," the PSG forward added.

Ibrahimovic, 33, also suggested Oscar feigned injury in the challenge: "I don't know if he was acting afterwards. Doesn't matter. We won the game, we went through and let's see what happens."

The game at Stamford Bridge finished 2-2 on Wednesday and 3-3 on aggregate with PSG going through to the quarter-finals on away goals.

Jose Mourinho: Chelsea manager blasts Sky Sports pundits Jamie Carragher and Graeme Souness, who is driven by 'envy'

http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...e-souness-who-is-driven-by-envy-10106709.html

Jose Mourinho issued a stinging rebuke to the Sky Sports pundits that criticised his Chelsea team, and Graeme Souness in particular, claiming that their words were driven by “envy”.

Mourinho’s Chelsea team were criticised by Souness, and Jamie Carragher for their hounding of the referee Bjorn Kuipers on Wednesday in the seconds before Zlatan Ibrahimovic was red-carded in the Champions League tie with Paris Saint-Germain. Having said that he had “closed the chapter” of European elimination with his players, Mourinho went on to address his own critics at his Friday Cobham press conference.

Mourinho said: “A season with a Premier League and a Capital One Cup is a brilliant season. A brilliant season. This is the way I am, the way I work. I'm not like people want me to be, or like people like to describe me. I'm like that.

Having said that he had “closed the chapter” of European elimination with his players, Mourinho went on to address his own critics at his Friday Cobham press conference.

“Jamie [Carragher] stopped playing a couple of years ago and, in two years, he forget everything he did on the pitch. Mr Souness also, but he stopped playing a long times ago. I coached Benfica [where Souness also coached], I know a lot about him. So much about him. But I have a certain kind of education, not just in football but in life, and I prefer to laugh. Envy is the biggest tribute that the shadows do to the man. It's about life.”

Mourinho even suggested, tongue firmly in cheek, that Carragher and Souness had forgotten about their own past as players. “The world is a bit strange,” Mourinho said. “Maybe because of diet and maybe the quality of the products we are eating, memories are getting shorter. Because, you know, when Jamie Carragher and Graeme Souness speak about it, it's because they are having a problem for sure.”

Mourinho said that the players met on Thursday afternoon to discuss the 2-2 draw with PSG that saw them eliminated from the Champions League. “Not everybody [spoke], one by one, but lots of people were speaking. We were discussing and very interactive, and it was good. But I don't want to speak details with you.”

Zlatan Ibrahimovic told to leave France by Front National leader Marine Le Pen

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been forced to apologise after sparking a political row by attacking a referee and calling France a “**** country”.

Politicians waded into the Paris Saint-Germain player with Marine Le Pen of the far-right Front National telling the Swedish striker that if he did not like France he could leave. Ibrahimovic will face a Professional Football League disciplinary hearing on Thursday.

In the corridor after the match, which PSG lost to Bordeaux 3-2, a furious Ibrahimovic was caught on film swearing and railing against the referee.

He can be clearly heard shouting in English: “Wake up, wake up … we’re not amateurs. ****ing *******. I’ve never seen this in my 15 years playing football. I’ve been playing for 15 years and I’ve never seen [good] refereeing in this s*** country. They don’t even deserve PSG in this country.”

Le Pen, whose party is expected to make important gains in local elections, told radio listeners on Monday: “Those who consider that France is a **** country can leave it. There. It’s as simple as that.”

Asked if the football authorities should discipline Ibrahimovic, Le Pen replied: “That’s the least they could do”.

The striker’s outburst brought opprobrium across the political spectrum. The French sports minister, Patrick Kanner, tweeted: “Ibrahimovic’s disappointment doesn’t justify his insults towards the referee and the country that has welcomed him. He should apologise.”

Jérôme Guedj, an MP with the governing Socialist Party, said: “Let him play football and shut up, or at least show some respect towards this country and football supporters who were also insulted.”

Ibrahimovic said his remarks were directed at the referee Lionel Jaffredo and insisted he was not targeting “France or the French”.

“I spoke about football. I lost the game, I accept that, but I can’t accept when the referee doesn’t follow the rules. It’s not the first time and I’m sick of it. My sincere apologies if anyone was offended, or took it the wrong way,” he wrote.

In his defence, Ibrahimovic said he had lost his temper. “I was angry. Everyone knows in that situation they often say things without thinking. I apologise if people felt offended.”

In a front-page headline, Le Parisian newspaper described Ibrahimovic’s behaviour as “unacceptable”.

Ibrahimovic scored twice but PSG’s defeat mean they trail Lyon by two points at the top of Ligue 1. The striker was angered when Jaffredo failed to award PSG a free-kick after the Bordeaux goalkeeper Cédric Carrasso picked up a back pass from the defender Ludovic Sané.

His outburst came less than a week after he accused Chelsea players of acting “like babies” after he was sent off during PSG’s Champions League victory on away goals.

On France-Info radio, Le Pen refused to comment further except to suggest Ibrahimovic could leave France, saying there were “more important things to discuss”.

In the past, the FN leader has said “football’s not really my thing”, but that has not stopped her making remarks about the players in the national “black, blanc, beur” (black, white, Arab) team, that have caused outrage.

In 2010, Le Pen told BFMTV that she did not “identify with” the French national football team because certain players had “another nationality at heart”.

“If they behave correctly … if we hear, even occasionally, from the mouths of these players talk of [their] patriotism, if a few stop refusing to sing the Marseillaise, if we don’t see them wrapped in the flags of other countries than our own, maybe things will change, but I have to say that I don’t identify particularly with this team,” she said.

i saw a programme during the last world cup about the bosnian natioinal team

interesting that zlaton was called a traitor by his fellow bosnians for opting to play for the swedish national team ahead of bosnia

I guess when he called France a shyte country it didn't go down too well, given he is playing for a French team after all.

Well it was because sweeden rejected him at a early age around 14-15yr saying he wasnt good enough, then he went to trials at bosnia - he turned his back on them.

In the last world cup i can remember one of the commentators saying not one of the bosnians players - born in the country but yet chose to represent them.

AC Milan hold Zlatan talks

AC Milan have held talks with Zlatan Ibrahimovic's agent over a deal for the Sweden star, according to reports on Wednesday.

Ibrahimovic is believed to be keen on a move away from Paris Saint-Germain this summer and Raiola met with Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani on Tuesday.
The 33-year-old, who has one year left on his current deal, is the subject of interest from a number of European clubs, with Premier League sides Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal reportedly among them.
Former club Milan, where he spent two years until 2012 and scored 28 Serie A goals in 32 appearances. are believed to be willing to offer him a three-year contract.
Ibrahimovic, a national hero in Sweden with over 100 caps and 54 goals, has accumulated some of the biggest transfer fees in the history of the game, with moves between Malmo FF, Ajax, Juventus, Internazionale, Barcelona, Milan and PSG fetching a total of £133.2m.
Ibrahimovic moved to PSG in 2012 for £15.7m and has scored 75 goals in Ligue 1 in 88 starts and 15 goals in 22 appearances in the Champions League.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic - where next?

China? The Premiership?

Where next for the great man?

Isn't PSG giving him a contract expansion for a season or two?

Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk

I can see him going to chelsea or west ham.

Im baffled as to why he is being continuously and seriosly linked with West Ham?

can anyone explain why is this being seen as a serious possible transfer?

because West Ham hit the jackpot by being given the new Olympic Stadium in london as there home ground free of charge. You cant underplay how big of a gift that is, will set them up to challenge the traditional london clubs, at the very least reach tottenham level. Plus they are doing really well at the moment

personally i obviously want Ibra to go to Arsenal, he is exactly what we need which is why it wont happen off course.

Would love him at Arsenal but he will end up in America or at United with Jose mourniho.

It would be a good move if we sign him, would give us a season and then Martial and Rashford would be ready to take over.

Random post - my cousins live very close to Upton Park.

Only city , Utd or Chelsea will play his wages

Lpool and Arsenal have a salary cap
United only buy young players who have scored a few goals in the pre season Emirates cup
Guardiola has already sold zlatan

Which means he will probly be a molester of defences at Chelsea next year
