he is on his last legs- hope he does not go to arsenal though as he could still bang in as many goals as giroud in half the games given how arsenal play.

But his overall play is not up to much anymore

I hope Arsenal
I have gutfeeling he might join unites but if they finish in top 4

Ibrahimovic: ‘You will have to be patient with me’

Zlatan Ibrahimovic continues to keep everyone in the dark about where he will ply his trade next after claiming that there would be a “big announcement” on Tuesday.

There is mounting speculation that the Swede will join Manchester United after he announced that he would be leaving Paris Saint-Germain last month.

It was thought that Ibrahimovic would confirm his move to United on Tuesday as he said that his announcement would “be this summer’s big bomb”, but it was only used to hype up his new A-Z Sportswear line.

“There is no confirmation. No saying ‘yes’. You will have to be patient with me,” he told reporters. “You are a journalist, no? I want you to keep wondering where I will go, and keep making stories, because I enjoy it while the stories go out.

“When I feel tired, I will let you know where my next destination is.”

When asked if he had finalised a deal with the Red Devils, Ibrahimovic said: “My future is A-Z. Follow A-Z and you will see my future. They will be wearing A-Z in Manchester also. Don’t worry — it is coming there.”

During his time with Paris Saint-Germain, Ibrahimovic played an instrumental role in leading the French giants to Ligue 1 glory for four successive seasons. While he never won the Champions League during his time with the club, he made it clear that it was the right time to move on.

“If I wanted, I could’ve stayed five more years,” Ibrahimovic said. “There comes a point where you’ve done everything. Mission accomplished.”

As much as I like zlatan sometimes he attention seaks too much. He should just make a decision instead of messing people around.

Zlatan and Man United join forces!

"Zlatan was born to play for Manchester United." - Eric Cantona!

Manchester United right to release Ibrahimovic?

Do you think Manchester United have made the right decision to release Zlatan Ibrahimovic?

Yes. Brilliant player. But now no movement. Inhibits the fast paced style needed to make best use of Rashford, Martial, Pogba & co. Plus won't be back 'till at the end of the year/beginning of the new year. At his age (36 in October), and now with this injury and long lay-off, how effective will he be when he comes back? Better to get in someone who's likely to be at Old Trafford long term.

As a Manchester United supporter yeah I think it was a good move. He was virtually undroppable last season until his injury. He's slow and worse of all he should have scored a lot more goals than he did. But still he was fantastic for Manchester United last season, specially at the age of 35 is unbelievable. He is without a doubt a legend. Hopefully he would go to the MLS and finish his career there.

His career is over when it comes to top leagues with that injury and unreasonable salary demand, will most likely play in MLS or China Super league.

World class but uktimately Man Utd are going to be paying him 300k a week to sit on the treatment table for 6 months or so. If he didn't get injured, Man Utd would've kept him on.

Well if that was his salary demand, 300k, that is absurd. Given modern wages and the ridiculous level of them, if he would have accepted 100k, I would have kept him for the subs bench. A good player to have for the last 20 mins if you're going to lump balls forward.

As a MU fan, I thought he was over rated last season, He put in a lot of goals but they were ordinary run of the mill goals, plus he missed quite a few sitters that dropped us major points.

I though we did much better when Rashford went up top, there was more pace and fluidity about us.

It will be a regret that he didn't come to our club 4 years earlier...

Ibra was born to play for Man United

Right decision to let him go now. He wasn't going to start ahead of Lukaku and he was on big wages. Have to admit he is one of my all time favourite. Was gutted when he went to Manchster United. Glad now he's at LA I can cheer for him . :amla

Right decision for him to leave. Didn't do much this season.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic: Galaxy striker hints at Man Utd return

LA Galaxy striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic says he would be open to a return to former club Manchester United when his contract ends in November.

The 37-year-old Swede has scored 46 goals in 49 games since moving to the Major League Soccer side in March 2018.

"I could play easy in the Premier League, so if United needs me, I'm here," he said.

Ibrahimovic scored 28 goals in his 2016-17 debut season for United before suffering a knee injury.

His two-year contract was terminated early by mutual consent to allow him to move to the United States.

However, if he were to rejoin United, he would not be allowed to play for them until January, when the English transfer window reopens.

Solskjaer: 'He knows my number, I'll always talk to Zlatan'

London - Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has laughed off the idea that Zlatan Ibrahimovic could make a shock return to Manchester United.

Ibrahimovic will be out of contract at LA Galaxy in November, once the MLS season has ended, and stated in an interview earlier this week that he would be open to a return.

Romelu Lukaku was sold to Inter Milan, while Alexis Sanchez has joined the Italian club on loan for the rest of the season, and Solskjaer has openly admitted that United are now short in attack.

Ibrahimovic spent 18 months at Old Trafford under previous manager Jose Mourinho and scored 28 goals in his first season in 2016/17.

However, he then suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury and failed to recover his place in the side after Lukaku's arrival, triggering his 2018 move to LA .

"If Zlatan was 28 at his next birthday, not 38, then maybe," said Solskjaer. "So that is a big difference.

"Zlatan had a great time here and he is still doing well. It was just unfortunate that he got his injury here.

"I don’t think it will happen. I think he had his time at the club and he has had a fantastic career at the club.

"But he knows my number and if he is serious, I will always speak to Zlatan."

Zlatan Ibrahimovic: Swedish striker's new bronze statue vandalised

The statue of Zlatan Ibrahimovic at Malmo's stadium has been vandalised on the day it was announced he had invested in a rival club.

The 3.5m bronze structure, commissioned by the Swedish FA, had been unveiled just over a month ago.

Earlier, the Swede said he had bought 25% of the shares in Hammarby, third in this year's Swedish championship.

"Several are said to have vandalised it and sprayed it with paint," said police spokesman Jimmy Morin.

Video footage on social media shows flames directed at the statue.

The 38-year-old, who left LA Galaxy at the end of the MLS season, scored 62 goals in 116 appearances for Sweden and previously played for Ajax, Juventus, Inter Milan, Barcelona, AC Milan, Paris St-Germain and Manchester United, having made his professional debut for Malmo 20 years ago.

Hammarby finished third in the Allsvenskan last season, level on points with Malmo and one behind champions Djurgardens.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic: AC Milan striker suffers calf injury

AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has a calf injury and will be examined again in 10 days, the club have said.

The Swede, 38, suffered the injury in training on Monday and reports claimed it could be career threatening.

But, tests have confirmed the former Manchester United forward has injured his right calf, rather than his Achilles tendon.

"The Achilles tendon is perfectly intact," Milan said. "An examination will be carried out in 10 days."

Ibrahimovic rejoined Milan on a six-month deal in December, scoring four goals in 10 appearances.

He posted a picture on Instagram of him riding a motorbike with a team-mate on Tuesday.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic: AC Milan striker tests positive for coronavirus

AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has tested positive for coronavirus.

The 38-year-old former Sweden international has been placed in quarantine at home, the club said.

His positive result came in a second round of testing after defender Leo Duarte tested positive on Wednesday, and all other players and staff returned negative tests.

Both players will miss Thursday's Europa League third qualifying round match with Bodo/Glimt.

Ibrahimovic scored twice in Milan's 2-0 Serie A win over Bologna on Monday.

He signed a one-year contract extension with the club last month.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has bought his AC Milan team-mates a new PlayStation 5 console as an early Christmas present.

Sky in Italy understand that the club submitted one order for all squad members who wanted one, and Zlatan paid for the consoles.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has denied using racist language in his clash with Romelu Lukaku in the Milan derby on Tuesday night.

AC Milan forward Ibrahimovic and Inter striker Lukaku were involved in a number of incidents on the pitch - before Ibrahimovic was eventually sent off.

Inter won the match 2-1 thanks to a late goal from Christian Eriksen.

"In Zlatan's world there is no place for racism," the Swede tweeted.

However he then added an apparent dig at his former Manchester United teammate by adding: "We are all the same race - we are all equal !! We are all players some better then others."

What happened?
Ibrahimovic, 39, put AC Milan in front in the 31st minute but he was then booked for his part in a head-to-head clash with Lukaku, who had to be pulled away as he tried to confront the Swede when the players left the field at half-time.

It was one of several clashes between the players.

Pitchside microphones picked up Ibrahimovic saying "go do your voodoo" to Lukaku. That was an apparent reference to claims made in 2018 by Everton owner Farhad Moshiri that the Belgium striker opted to leave the club after receiving a "voodoo message". Those claims led Lukaku to seek legal advice.

Lukaku, 27, was also caught on camera swearing at Ibrahimovic as the two exchanged insults.

Ibrahimovic was then dismissed 13 minutes into the second half for a foul on former Manchester City defender Aleksandar Kolarov.

Lukaku got the equaliser from the spot before the late winner from Eriksen.

In 2019, Ibrahimovic gave an interview to Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport in which he said he had once offered Lukaku £50 for every time he had a good first touch.

What happens now?
There have been no official comments from either club about the clashes. It is understood that Ibrahimovic addressed his team-mates in the dressing room after the match to insist there were no racist intentions to any of his words with Lukaku.

The matter was being discussed by the Italian Football Federation on Wednesday and an update is expected on Friday.

Sweden's record goalscorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been recalled to the national team five years after announcing his retirement.

The 39-year-old scored 62 goals in 116 internationals before quitting after the team's Euro 2016 group-stage exit.

He opened the door to a return in a newspaper interview in November 2020 and Sweden coach Janne Andersson then flew to Milan to meet with the striker.

Ibrahimovic has 14 goals in 14 Serie A appearances for AC Milan this season.

Sweden face Georgia on Thursday, 25 March before playing Kosovo three days later in their opening two 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

Ibrahimovic has responded to Sweden's announcement of their squad by tweeting: "The return of the God."

"He can be a little bit funny at times," Andersson said when told about the striker's tweet during an online news conference.

"First and foremost he is a very good footballer, the best we have had in Sweden. It's obviously very good that he wants to come back.

"Apart from what he can contribute on the field, he has incredible experience and can contribute that to the other players in the team."

AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has signed a one-year contract extension that will keep him at the club beyond his 40th birthday.

Ibrahimovic joined Milan for a second time in December of 2019.

He extended his initial six-month contract for one year in August of 2020 and has now put pen to paper again.

Ibrahimovic has scored 17 goals in 25 matches in all competitions this season, passing 500 career goals in February.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is to be investigated by Uefa over an "alleged financial interest in a betting company".

According to reports in his native Sweden, the AC Milan striker, 39, has broken rules after becoming a partner in a betting company.

Uefa's disciplinary regulations state players should not have a financial interest in betting.

Last week he signed a new contract that will run until after his 40th birthday.

"A Uefa ethics and disciplinary inspector has today been appointed to conduct a disciplinary investigation regarding a potential violation of the Uefa disciplinary regulations by Mr Zlatan Ibrahimovic for having an alleged financial interest in a betting company," a Uefa statement said.

The former Manchester United striker has scored 17 goals in 25 appearances in all competitions this season.

Ibrahimovic came out of international retirement after a five-year absence to play for Sweden earlier this year.

Meanwhile, Ibrahimovic has been fined 4,000 euros (£3,500) for his part in an ugly clash with Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku during a Coppa Italia match in January.

The pair were involved in a number of exchanges and Ibrahimovic, who denied he used racist language, was eventually sent off.

Like Ibrahimovic, Lukaku was charged with "unsportsmanlike behaviour with provocative phrases" by the Italian Football Federation. The Belgian has been fined 3,000 euros (£2,600).

Sweden striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been ruled out of this summer's European Championship because of a knee injury.

The 39-year-old was recalled to the Sweden squad in March after coming out of international retirement.

A post on Sweden's official Twitter account said Ibrahimovic had told coach Janne Andersson he could not play at Euro 2020 because of his injury.

He suffered the problem playing for AC Milan in a win at Juventus on 9 May.

Ibrahimovic, who has netted 62 times for Sweden and is his country's record goalscorer, played 66 minutes of the 3-0 victory over Juve before being substituted.

He marked his return to international football after a five-year absence with an assist when Sweden beat Georgia in a World Cup 2022 qualifier in March.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic returned from four months out injured by becoming Serie A's oldest foreign goalscorer in AC Milan's victory against Lazio.

The Swede, 39, tapped in Milan's second goal after Rafael Leao's opener.

Late on, Ibrahimovic forcefully rubbed Lucas Leiva's head and Maurizio Sarri ran onto the pitch to remonstrate, earning the Lazio coach a red card.

Ibrahimovic scores 400th career league goal as Milan beat Roma

Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored his 400th league goal and won a penalty as AC Milan claimed a narrow 2-1 victory over Roma in Serie A.

Milan's win moves them level on points with league leaders Napoli.

Ibrahimovic, 40, opened the scoring with a free-kick and Franck Kessie converted from the spot after Roma's Roger Ibanez fouled the Swede.

Theo Hernandez was sent off for Milan, with Stephan El Shaarawy scoring in added time against his former club.

Earlier on Sunday, Napoli edged to a 1-0 win at struggling Salernitana and, like Milan, have won 10 of their first 11 games this term.

Protestors auction fake noses of vandalised Ibrahimovic statue

May 24 (Reuters) - A group of supporters from Malmo are auctioning three replica noses based on the infamous statue of Zlatan Ibrahimovic that was erected in his home city before it was removed and put in storage following attempts to vandalise it.

The statue's nose was cut off in a pre-Christmas attack in 2019. It also had its leg sawn off and a toe removed before being taken off its plinth in January 2020.

The Sweden striker started his professional career at Malmo FF in 1999 and left for Ajax Amsterdam in 2001 before embarking on a career that has included top European teams such as Manchester United, Inter Milan and his current club AC Milan.

Once adored by the fans in Malmo, he angered them when he acquired a stake in Stockholm rivals Hammarby in 2019, saying he was going to turn them into Scandinavia's biggest football club.

The protesters said Ibrahimovic was a 'fool' to chose money over love for his home town and his club.

"With this initiative, we want to draw attention to the problems in Swedish and international football," they said in a statement.

"Our aim is a football world where the supporters are at the centre and no one should have to see their club bought up and changed overnight.

"Therefore, the profits from this initiative will go to purposes that promote the work against modern and commercial football, where the love of clubs and sports is at the centre."

So far one fake nose has been put up for auction online and received a bid of $500.

AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be out for up to eight months after having knee surgery.

The Swedish international, 40, recently helped Milan to their first Serie A title since 2011 but endured a stop-start campaign because of injuries.

Milan called the procedure on his left knee "a complete success".

Ibrahimovic, who is out of contract in the summer, had previously expressed a desire to stay with Milan for at least one more season.

But the lengthy spell on the sidelines will now cast doubt over his future.

The former Manchester United and Paris St-Germain frontman returned to the San Siro in 2020 having won the Scudetto during his first spell at Milan.

While he only started 11 league games this term, he chipped in with eight league goals as Milan edged out another of his former clubs, and city rivals Inter, to win the Scudetto.

Ibrahimovic signs one-year extension with AC Milan

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has signed a one-year contract extension with AC Milan, Sky in Italy is reporting.

The 40-year-old is currently side-lined with a knee injury which will keep him out of action until the end of the year.

Zlatan Ibrahimović became the oldest player ever to appear in Euro qualifier match, aged 41

“I want to continue playing football, of course if I feel good this is my priority. I feel very good at Milan, if they want me to keep me I’m happy. I’m available”, he said.

AC Milan forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic will leave the club after their final match of the season against Hellas Verona on Sunday.

The Serie A side said they would hold a "brief ceremony" for the 41-year-old Swede to "say goodbye".

"AC Milan would like to thank Zlatan for the magnificent time that we have spent together," the club said.

Ibrahimovic rejoined Milan in 2019 and helped them to win the Serie A title last season.

However he has played only four times and started one match for the side this term - and scored one goal - following a series of injuries, and his contract will not be renewed when it expires at the end of June.

The former Malmo, Ajax, Inter, Barcelona, Paris St-Germain, LA Galaxy and Manchester United man also won the league title in his first spell with the club in 2011.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic retires: Swedish great ends football career at 41

AC Milan's Zlatan Ibrahimovic has retired from football at the age of 41, bringing to an end one of the modern era's most glittering careers.

"I say goodbye to football but not to you," the Swede told the San Siro crowd after Sunday's last game of the season.

Ibrahimovic had already announced he would leave the Italian club.

He scored 511 goals for clubs including Paris St-Germain, Manchester United and both AC and Inter Milan, winning league titles in four countries.

Ibrahimovic began his second spell with AC Milan in early 2020, having won the Scudetto with them in 2011, and helped them win the title again last season.

But he played only four times and started one match for the Serie A side this term - and scored one goal - following a series of injuries, and his contract was set to expire this month.

"There are too many emotions for me right now. Forza Milan and goodbye," an emotional Ibrahimovic said, holding back tears.

"The first time I came here you gave me happiness, the second time you gave me love.

"You welcomed me with open arms, you made me feel at home, I will be a Milanista for the rest of my life."

Swedish legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic is all set to make a comeback to AC Milan for a third stint.

The former Sweden international striker, who announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 41 in June this year, is set to come back to the Italian club for a third stint but this time not as a footballer.

Ibrahimovic will work closely with the club's principal owners RedBird Capital Partners. Financial Times reports that the former Manchester United star will join the club as an advisor to AC Milan's management and ownership.

The Financial Times quoted the former footballer, who said, "RedBird has partnered with some of the greatest athletes, teams and business figures in the world to create businesses with meaning and impact. I look forward to contributing to their investing activities across their sports, media and entertainment properties."

RedBird bought a 99 percent stake in Milan in 2021 for €1.2bn and have changed the fortunes of the club after their struggles in the last decade. The Serie A giants won the Scudetto in the 2021/22 season and reached the semi-final of the Champions League last season. They also have stakes in Liverpool owners' Fenway Sports Group.

The Rossonerri, who are currently third in Serie A - nine points behind league leaders and rivals Inter - will be next seen in action on Wednesday when they take on Newcastle in their final Champions League group game.

It's a must-win game for Stefan Pioli's side if they want to qualify for the knockout stage.
